  1. A very good, more realistic ATC addon would probably be the only addon they could produce for FSX right now that might cause me to forsake my FS9. Jim L
  2. I would suggest the Carenado Piper Arrow IV. All the steam gages you need for flying any kind of IFR. I think it will suit your purpose. Jim L
  3. Wow! Those screenshots are fantastic. Carenado has produced a piece of art with this Baron. If it flys as well as it looks, there will won't be a better Baron 58 for FS9 available. IMHO of course. Really looking forward to adding this aircraft to the hangar. Jim L
  4. All Right! Money waiting to be spent. On the opening product screen on the Carenado site, there is a line that says "incoming projects" or something to that effect. Click on it and smile. This day is all better. Jim L

Forkedtail Just in case you have not found the nav/gps switch yet (or it may actually be missing) it is located between the transponder and ADF panels. I really like the arrow IV. I bought it for a navigation trainer because it has everything you need and some speed for longer flight plans. I learned how to fly a constant speed engine with it. In my inexperinced pilots hands, it doesn't fly to it's numbers. Just wondering what else you purchased. Hope that helps, Jim L

I went to the Carenado sight and when I saw those great prices, my credit card just floated out my billfold into my hand. I was in a trance. I couldn't help myself. I purchased: C185F Bush package C210 Centurin Bonanza V 35 Hope that helps to convince Carenado to do more FS9. Cheers Jim
  7. I have the same CPU as you have and I use a GTX 560ti graphics card. I can tell you I can't run FSX with all sliders at max settings. I have reduced my settings till the internal frame counter reads 30 fps and it is locked there as that seems to give me the best results. I still have flashing, wavering and studdering graphics. I admit. I have not tried to tweak the program and FSX is still all default. Having said that, my system runs FS9 as smooth as glass with all setting maxed out. Good luck getting your system together. Jim
  8. Good Day Just a summary of what has been determined with the help of your post and some research on the appropriate web sites: Aerosoft Piper Cheyenne Dreamfleet Baron 58 Lite Eaglesoft Piper Comanche Carenado Seneca ll all of these aircraft will work in FS9 and Windows 7/64. Thats far more than I knew when I started this thread. So now I have some decisions to make. I would like to keep my fleet down to eight aircraft that I fly on a regular basis. I still have some bush flying aircraft and one regional jet (O.K. I'm a heretic) to add. About the Howard 500. I had to look that up to even know what it looked like. To classic for me but I have to admit it looks like it would be fun to fly. I really appreciate you that took your time to respond to my post. It has been a great help to me. Look for me on the forum. There will be more questions. Jim L
  9. Good Day Stephen Thanks for the note of welcome. Luis Appreciate the info. Mel Are you psyhic? You found the very reason why I made this request. Fozzer I was already aware of your obession with freeware and your good humor from other post. Your right. The default Baron is an acceptable aircraft. Needs better paint. John Thanks for the suggestion. The Carenado Piper Seneca for FS2004 is the only twin that I know of that is advertised to work in my OS. It is a definite buy. Carenado needs to port their other twins over to FS2004. David Precisely the type of information I was looking for. I don't mind spending the money if I can be reasonably assured the product will work. I will purchase the Piper Commache. That will give me two Piper aircraft. I can use one more twin in my hangar. A C310 would be nice. Thanks David. Jim L
  10. Hello Everyone, Old geezer, newbie here, SF9 has become my flight simulator of choice, no marching ants, no jagged edges, no flashing, and no tearing. I'm not going to spend alot of money or time to try to get FSX to look as good. So here I am on the AVSIM forum. Been lurking here for a while and seems like a great group of simmers on this forum. Don't know if being old has anything to do with it but I'm GA, propeller head, steam gauge kind of guy and my goal for FS9 is to learn to fly, as realistically as the sim allows, a small fleet of aircraft that represents the different facets of GA. I have all the single engine aircraft that I want for my fleet but with Christmas coming it gives me the opportunity to purchase a couple of twin engine aircraft to fill that niche. There are a lot of products but the problem is that in lots of cases I'm not sure that they will work in Windows 7/64. Spending money on a product that doesn't work produces no flight simming joy. This is where you guys can help me. If you have a GA twin for FS9 working or know of one that will work in Windows 7/64 would you please provide share that information along with the name of the developer. I'm hoping to expand my choices of aircraft. Glad to be here on the forum with you guys. Thanks in advance, Jim L
