  1. It’s a very nice scenery which I picked up a couple days ago. No stutter or frame rate issues for me, and I have an older system: Intel Core i7-10700K, 32GB DDR4 SDRAM 3200, RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 Side note: it’s nostalgic for me as I got my private license and did all my GA flying out of there in the late 80s and early 90s, back when it was GA friendly and had tons of single engines based on the west ramp. The FBO used to be called Tiger Air then Media Aviation and the flight schools were Bengal Air on the west side of R15 and the Pilots Co-Op on the south side near UPS ramp. We’d take off and fly over to WHP or VNY for pattern work. Also, UA once flew a scheduled B767 there from DEN (it parked on the SW corner of the cross runways with a tram to get pax to/from terminal) and watching heavy AA MD80’s take off was a hoot. Aloha flew to HNL for a few years as well. But, it’s all changed of course and you probably won’t find any singles there now. Pretty much all corporate jets. But, ahh, great memories. Loving the scenery!
  2. Well I fly/flew the MadDog in real life for my job. I bought this addon last year for MSFS2024 so my son can see what I do and I believe TFDi has done a very nice job. The MCDU/FMS is very realistic as well as the auto flight system. The visuals of the airplane look very good sharp. She fly’s well enough for flight sim 2024 and is reminiscent of the old PMDG MD-11. Tip: If vectoring yourself in the terminal area to an ILS, obviously you’ll be in HDG SEL but to descend, use flight level change (pulling the altitude selector knob) to get IDLE CLAMP and enter a speed on pitch descent. That’s how we did it in the real world. There’s almost no place we went where the route was totally connected to the approach where you could stay in NAV & PROF until arming the approach. Well, KONT on the SCBBY arrival is at least one exception. Also, like other planes, if you autoland remember to click off the autopilot on rollout or you won’t be able to steer it off the runway. Anyway, my company decided to retire the jet after an accident last fall. I’m currently learning a new plane and haven’t used TFDi since maybe December but I do really like it. I just flushing my brain of MD-11 and trying to learn Boeing. Any good 757/767 addons for 2024?? Cheers
  3. Mets737, I’d love to see this as well. What seems like a lifetime ago I learned to fly out of Burbank (KBUR) when it used to be GA friendly. I did my first supervised solo out of Whiteman, my second out of Van Nuys, and my third out of Burbank. When I got my instrument rating, I used my dad’s C172 (was based in KWHP) which we parked at the Airtel Plaza Hotel and I used an instructor from American Flyers. Good times! In my aviation/airline career I never got to fly into those airports but they will always hold something special for me. Now I fly a 747 and we only go into KONT. Anyway, I’d love to see KVNY as well as KBUR, but I understand that Burbank is beginning to build a new terminal on the NE (old Lockheed) side, so maybe that should wait a bit. Cheers! PS my dad worked in the film industry and knew a lot of guys on the production staff for “One Six Right.” He was also friends with Clay Lacy and got an invite to Bob Hoovers wake, which was hosted by Clay at VNY. Good memories!
  4. Actually we could purchase scenery add-ons in the 1980’s. Granted they weren’t airport specific but, for example, you could buy the “STAR Scenery Disk: San Francisco & The Bay Area” which would include the airports in that region. https://www.mobygames.com/group/314/sublogics-flight-simulator-scenery-add-ons/ i was pretty young but flew the heck out of my Apple IIe Flight Simulator 2.0 and asked for nothing but scenery disks for Christmas/birthday, etc. It did its trick because now I fly professionally for a big Brown company out of SDF.
  5. Could use the Chuck’s Guide for the Prepar3D PMDG 777-200LR. Those guides were great for FSX/Xplane. I sure wish Chuck’s Guide would make .pdf guides for MSFS for maybe: DC-6 777 146 F28 727 Cheers!
  6. Yep, that is why there are two different type rating for the whale: B747 - covers the -100/200/300/SP B747-4 - covers the -400/-8 I'm also really looking forward to this release. I fly the -400/-8 in real life however my airline retired the last of the classics about 20 years ago before I was hired. I’m envious of the guys I work with who got to fly those with the CiVA and Littons. so this will be an awesome way to (sort of) live that era. The oldest round dial I flew was the Fokker F.27 in the ‘90s with no autopilot, both right and left seat. That was real flying! cheers
  7. Thanks for the info Lucky38i! Good to hear. One of the liveries included is the airline I fly for in real life (think “Brown!”). Our B727-200s had the internal cascade reverse but I believe our -200s never received the new livery as depicted in FSS 727-200F before retirement. We also had a lot of B727-100QCs that were retrofitted with the RR Tay 651-54 engines. A lot of these were painted in the new livery and retired by fall 2007 IIRRC. Cheers!
  8. I didn’t see a forum on FlightSim-Studios website so I’m not sure where else to post this. On the real Boeing 727-100’s the prototype and very few production models had the deflector door “clam shell” thrust reverses as depicted in this B727-200F. However, the 727-200’s had and internal blocker door and outer fixed cascade vanes on the upper/lower nacelles (left/right on engine #2). The only way to visually know if the engines were in reverse was to look in the tail pipe to see the internal “clam shells” were closed thus deflecting the air forward thru the cascade vanes. I do seem to recall that a very few 727-200s were retrofitted with the JT8D-217 engines (same as found on MD80) and had the clam shell defector doors in the #1 and #3 engines. If anyone has other info I’d be curious. Since this is a B727-200F and “as real as it gets” I wanted to inquire about the reverses. If anyone uses X-plane, the FlyJSim B722 has the correct reverse thrust configuration. Don’t get me wrong; this is an outstanding add on for MSFS. Love the INS! Also: does anyone know if it’s possible to assign an axis to the reverse thrust? I have a ThrottleTech throttle quadrant with reverse toggles and have them configured for P3D and X-Plane but cannot figure out out to assign an axis in MSFS2020 to use them. Thank you and… Cheers!
  9. I’ve glanced at those Guides and they look pretty good. Unfortunately, I don’t use any of those platforms but I do think the 777 guide would be compatible. That being said, I would love it if Chuck began a series for MSFS2020 to include: -Just Flight Bae 146 with the universal FMS -Just Flight Fokker F-28 -FlightSim Studio B727-200 with the CIVA INS There’re probably others too but these are the big three I own. Cheers!
