FSX and Vsync
Hey guys, So like most people i use Nvidea Inspector with FSX I have a question Regarding The Vsync Part of Nvidea inspector In my FSX.CFG i dont have any Forcefullscreenvsync tweaks active as i have found it affects fps. If i dont have any vsync tweaks active what should be the setting in nvidea inspector ?? Eg use 3d application setting setting or 1/2 Refrsh rate just to name a few. Which Value will imporve FPS and also Have no tearing ?? apologies if this is a silly question but could some one shed some light into This for me ?? Also What should the Texturebandwithmult setting be set to in the FSX.CFG? does the tweak imporve blurries ? I Have FPS locked to 30 in Nvidea isspector and currently i have TBM =80 Could anyone shred some light System : I5 4670K Overclocked 4.4GHz, 8GB Ram, GTX770 Jack

PMDG 737 And Acars
Hey Guys, So i Know that Making Acars Through the FMC in the NGX work is out of the question. But i Have been on Youtube Looking at Acars and the 737 800, And was just wondering is there any way at all, or any addon, That can maybe add a notes page into the FMS of the Ngx I know This is a pretty Stupid question, But Is there anyway where i can enter maybe the ETA and the ETD or ETA Into the FMS? This probably is a Rediculous post but if any one has any ideas or a addon you can add into the FMC at all It will be much appreciated Have a good Night Jason Norment

Company routes
Hey guys, Lately I have been flying lots of the same route like Brisbane to Sydney. Sydney back to brisbane, Brisbane to Melbourne, Melbourne to Brisbane etc. I know about the company route. But every time I put my route/ waypoints for the flight ( with out the Sid and star and runways ) and I say save route. The execute button lights up, but I'm not able to execute it. Like im pressing execute but the button just sits there and laughs at me, The execute button just stays lit up until I press erase. I have heard about the saving the flight plan from sim routes into the flight plans folder. Put to be honest I'm not to sure how do to that Could some one please tell me what I'm doing wrong with the fmc? And also some instructions on the sim routes and the flight plan folder. okay thank you i renamed the fsx.cfg is now fsxbackup it made a new folder? so now there is fsx.cfg folder and then fsxbackup in another.......... is this correct?? Drake

WR269, thanks for the quick reply im using yssy default scenery, i did use orbx ybbn, ymml and canberra but i have never used and add on scenery for yssy. munga, again thanks for the quick reply no im using the default scenery, and i just flew around sydney in the default 737, the exact same thing happned. Firstly what i noticed was the bulidings around sydneys cbd near the opera house went funny, flashing back in forth and then it went really laggy and bang an error has occured Drake but i can fly anywhere around australia, any airport and its fine. Just sydney!!!! okay so i just took off in the pmdg 737 ngx from sydney with everything loaded, GSX and FS2CREW. Its fine it didnt crash it was just abit laggy. Im now 36000FT still cliimbing back to brisbane and nothing has happened. that test i did then with the default 737 flying around the sydney airspace was a saved flight that i loaded and just turned into the yssy area. It seems that it crashes when im landing not departing. I also relized one other thing, i have orbx au traffic installed and lately i havent checked the settings but traffic is around 35 - 40 percent for each bar. DO u think that maybe when im landing into sydney i put all traffic down to 0??? drake

YSSY CRASHES :(
hey guys, i posted this topic on the pmdg 737 forum but they said i should come here. I live in Australia so i fly all around australia. Lately i have been flying alot of legs from brisbane to sydney airport. The thing is as soon as im about 3000Ft near sydney FSX will say an error has occured then it will restart. again i use the pmdg 737 NGX and sometimes the instruments will freeze and you have no LIVE instruments so they will be stuck on 3000 FT 150 KNOTS when really ur at 1000FT and 142 KNOTS. This is really frustrating considering i fly the pmdg 737 all around australia to all the airports. I fly from brisbane to perth which is a long 4 hours 50 minute flight and fsx dosent crash or freeze. But as soon as im about 3000FT at sydney it crashes?? whats woring with sydney airport??? I have all my traffic settings at 0 i never get an out of memory signs it just says an error has occured or the 737 instruments freeze. No other airport dose this just sydney!! PLEASE HELP ME Drake

Ngx tail / engine go black?
So yesterday I downloaded the new virgin Australia liverie for my ngx I used it to fly from Brisbane to Sydney, everything was all good, I was enjoying the sexy look of this new liverie, then all of a sudden when I landed at Sydney I decided to go to the wing view to notice that the engine had gone from a white color to a black color, so I decided to go right out of the plane to check out what is happening when I saw both engines gone black as well as the tail black also, I continued taxiing to the gate! When I got to the gate I pressed the Ctrl 12 button on my gsx menu to Deboard the passengers when all of the sudden my cockpit panels froze, I couldn't move the fmc from page to page, I couldn't select an altitude. I thought it might of been a liverie problem considering I always did this route with the old virgin blue liverie and nothing of this ever happened. I re downloaded the liverie and this morning it did the same thing? The old virgin blue liverie is fine? But the new virgin Australia liverie is not? Your comments and thoughts to this problem will be much appreciated!! Drake

Haha perhaps thats the issue! Well I just did another flight from ybbn to yssy! The same thing happened but one thing appeared to me, I had a lot of anti virus warnings Come up telling me to scan and other stuff, I know when your playing FSx your suppost to have nothing running is this correct? Pmdg 737 and YSSY airport
hey guys firstly merry xmas, secondly, I recently have gone on holidays for 3 weeks, i got back at 9 this morning. i straight away went onto flight sim. I used the 737 800 ngx with gsx and also fs2crew. I flew from brisbane to sydney. On my approach into sydney, as soon as the opera house and all of the cbd came into sight, fsx started to lag abit and ezdok became really laggy on the movements. Then the 737 instruments froze and the instruments were stuck on 3500Ft and 180 knots, the fmc wouldnt budge it was just frozen. Then a message poped up and said fsx not resaponding and fsx closed and restarted. Before my holiday this never happened and i was running the exaxt same stuff. Ezdok, gsx,orbx oz traffic, fs2 crew and the 737 ngx. Something has happened to yssy in the 3 weeks i was away! any suggestions Much appreciated Drake

Pmdg 737 traffic
Hey guys I know this isn't the right place to be posting about this topic but I couldn't really find any site. Today I started to use the world of AI traffic and it good in all but for example in ybbn I have the jet star and qantas traffic parked at the virgin Australia gates. And then also I have a qantas 747 parked in the domestic terminal! Does anyone know how to assign a AIRCARFT and AIRLINES to a certain terminal and gate? Much appreciated Drake

Hi all. I was just wondering if air display for the iPad is worth the money it costs on iTunes? I have seen on YouTube about being able to undock the fmc and dragging it onto your iPad! One big question does it effect the frames? So should I buy or is it not worth it Cheers

Yes I truly have learnt a valuable lesson in this. Confessioning is something I had to do, but I should not have lied in the first place my actions where truly pathetic! I can tell you I am Abit of a nerd and computers are my thing especially flying with flight simulator x and the pmdg 737. I haven't made many friends here in Australia and I am very lonely so I did think I could come onto the forum make a fakeish account with a name and try and get Abit popular helpingIng everyone with there pmdg problems, I do relies I have done the opposite and clearly my actions where foolish. Gday from the sunny Hamilton island! A couple of points! Brisbane doesn't have cat3 installed! I was just trying to make an example ! No airports in oz have cat 3 installsd In I think 07 or 08 there was talk of ymml and CASA agreeing to runway 16 at ymml having cat 3 but there has been lots of disagreement In the years! Still strongly ymml will get cat 3 in future for sure Canberra and Sydney had talk to CASA but to this day only cat 1 and 2 stands in oz 1 major reason CASA declined Sydney was because Yssy airport being so close to the city, the amount of RFI (radio frequency interference) is an issue, it was issued that having cat 1 was hard enough to handle and they struggle majorly Next Brad jones was the check and training captain who trained me back in 08 haven't heard from brad In a while! Also John hazelton I'm not sure when Virgin got CASA approval for RNP Approches! But we are able to do them! Again the mystery continues with the RNP maybe the PMDG support staff is an option

Do you fly the NGX in Admin or user accounts?
Maybe try and get all the stuff on your desktop form your admin count and copy it to a user account? And then just have your admin account for FSX and the NGX JACK

HUD not working cure :)
So what I did was re installed the pmdg 737 At first I thought it didn't work, but as I looked more at the HUD I sore a brightness display, and I turned the knob and all of a sudden the HUD display slowly appeared, as I adjusted more it fully came on! There it was the display it worked! So maybe thesettings have started your HUD in the low brightness where u can't see anything? Secondly im a captain in the 737 NGX So we have the HUD! And on there is the clear feature! So when your taxiing out for TO You can press the clear button on the centre pedistool where the HUD Settings are! So your settings may have gone wrong and as soon as u enter the flightdeck the HUD Is automatically in the clear mode, so it's not displaying the HUD Display? And it's just a clear HUD

Mate we do Abit! But it's different ! And ILS Is used in 2 different scenarios 1- bad visibility the Tower at YBBN will contact us and say Virgin 989 Brisbane tower We say virgin 989 Brisbane tower go ahead They say we have say visibility down 1 mile in heavy fog CAT3 ILS for runway 19 in use Descend down to 3500! So at 3500 we intercept the waypoint! Leaky, at leaky they will tell us to either hold and descend FO 2500 or continue on our star into ybbn! So either there may be traffic ahead so they will make us hold and then out us on a 20 mile long final and that's very long! So its easy we intercept the glide slope at 2500 and the glide slop does the rest! For cat 3 both captain and FO Autopilot must be engaged and u can not disengage the autopilot until you have touched down on the runway and reverse and spoilers is up! Other wise if we haven't by the Time the reverse goes In it does it itself! 2- is like Brisbane now they have shut runway 14/32 for construction so know Brisbane has become a traffic jam, normally the virgin embraers and the little qantas links and ATR Can land on runway 14/32 But know Brisbane has one runway in use and that's say runway 01 for today. So instead of two runways going there is only 1 and This one runway us getting used by both international jets, domestic jets and now the stupid little small hop jets! So know as this delay to let all these planes takeoff it makes us late to land So say I'm going from Sydney to Brisbane! All the traffic piled up means that aircraft gave to hold, wasting fuel, and also flights are delayed that even the bays are taken up! I have flow 15 secTors into Brisbane last week, every time we have had to hold for at least 20 minutes then we would land and waif on the taxi way for our bay to become available! Every time I departed Brisbane last week I was atleast 20 minutes late To depart caus of the traffic! Back to Landing So ATC will set us up for the approach, ther is traffic so thy put us on a long final ILS ! But there is Abit of traffic but they want us to land before em So here we are at 2500FT approaching runway 19 and they say Virgin 989 immediately descent To 1500 and make a left turn of say 300 And expect a short 5 mile final! Now that's short! So that's whn we do the RNP but basically I disengage when they tel us to turn to headin 300 Cause I have better control! Well I hope this explains it ! I sign on at 11 tommorow so I better get some rest flying to Hamilton island Now that's a fun RNP approach my friend if u don't get that right u will end up it int drink for sure

Ahh runway 01 landed on that runway many of times Seeming Brisbane is my based airport for the 737! I actually landed on runway 01 at 1.30 today ! Mate I don't think your doing anything wrong! Simply a RNP Approach is definitely not close to a Autoland! Basically at 250FT is like I said the decision height for a RNP approach, so at 250FT Above the runway if you do not have a visual on the runway you must go around! It's on our books it's a MUST!!! So a RNP is not a approach u can fly all the way down to the centre line of a runway! A RNP approach is specialized for manual flying! So you can have it on Auto pilot until 250FT ! As soon as u see that pitch rising its telling u to go around cause the aircraft thinks u haven't got a visual on the runway yet! Do u understand? Okay let me try and pit this simple! Your In bad foggy weather flying in to ybbn rwy 01 arrival! You have your star set up for arrival your 500 ft above the runway with the VS at 800 You don't have a visual on the runway yet! Finally you hit 250FT the decision height and u still have the autopilot on plus still no visual on rwy 01 U notice how the pitch goes from a VS of 800 to 500 it's because the autopilot is still on The aircraft is telling you it's pitching up because you haven't disengaged the auto pilot ! It thinks you haven't got a visual on the runway yet ! It's telling u it's a the decision height and u still don't have the autopilot disengages so where pitching the Nose up for a go around! And also landing into Brisbane or Sydney Melbourne wherever, we always always use ILS even if it's clear skies and u have a visual on the runway from 30 miles away! U only use RNP on approaches like the good coast or a runway with no ILS! Again virgin Australia states that if we are flying a RNP into the gold coast and we have a visual on the runway to disengage the auto pilot and hand fly the jet! Try flying the ILS Blacka approach into Brisbane? Save the RNP approaches to the gold coast and other places with no ILS! Make sure that if your in heavy fog and your still in the autopilot that you have a visual before 250FT Or to do a go around this is why your plane pitches up at 250FT with the autopilot still engaged! On the HUD being clear and the display not being there! Nah mate your correct! I remember training for becoming a FO on the 737 back in 2005 and using pmdg 737 on FS2004 And there the rain effect was perfect! I have the ifly 737 for FSX and that has the rain effect and that's pretty sick! But I just feel uncomfortable flying the ifly it's nothing like the PMDG version ! PMDG wins by 110%
