  1. Hey guys Could someone tell me how to disable the controller without loosing connection to FSUIPC? Whenever I uncheck the box "Enable Controllers" in the controlls tab, FSUIPC doesn't register any input. I have had my FSX running well even with the box checked for quite some time now but everyonce in a while I get the disconnection. I was also messing with the FSUIPC.ini file in the modules folder of the fsx main directory. I found that there was a line under general titled 'JoystickTimeout=20' and I have been messing with that number. I don't know if it has worked yet because I don't get the disconnection very often but maybe someone else can try it and see if that works for them. Thanks
  2. Hey guys, I am currently running an i5 3570k @ 4.4ghz and getting around 25 - 30 FPS on the ground / low altitudes and well into the 40's in the air. My question is if I overclock to a higher GHz, will the performance increase? My PC Specs are as follows ... i5 3570k @4.4 GHz currently sitting around 63 degrees celcius on 100% load. EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost @ 1200 MHz 8 GB Corsair 1600 MHz RAM Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 600w CX600M Corsair Power Supply I am using FSX Acceleration pack and the addons I run are REX+, PMDG 737NGX, Airbus X Extended, UTX, and some airport scenery addons. I am looking to pick up Ground Services X and I have heard that was pretty frame rate intensive so I wanted to make sure I could run it before I bought it. I do fly on VATSIM sometimes so the traffic sometimes lowers FPS as well. My fsx.cfg is tweaked pretty well I would say so there isn't much improvement there. Also, would overclocking the ram add any improvement? Thanks for any help, Preston
  3. Sorry, I just realized posts are not suppose to be hardware related in this forum and I'm not sure how to delete this post. But if you can help, go look at the other post I made please.

  5. Thanks for the replies again. I have tried tweaking and I have all the service packs and other stuff you guys have suggested but it doesn't seem to improve fps. I knew that I didn't meet the minimum requirements but I went ahead and bought them because I knew I was going to be getting a new computer soon and I just wanted to try it out on the sytem I have now. Here is some of the specs of the new PC I'm going to be getting. You guys tell me if it sounds good. Intel i5 3570k @ 3.3 GHz and I will be overclocking it hopefully. The NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB. 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, 430W Corsair Power Supply and the rest of the specs are really just basic stuff. Thanks.
  6. Ok I have FSX running on only 3 frames per second. I have a Intel i3 M370 / 4GB RAM / and Intel HD Graphics Card. I know this may suck for gaming but I know it can get at least 20 fps. I have every single slider set to low and this still gives me only 3 fps. I run the original FSX with only aircraft addons. No scenery no nothing. All sliders set to 0 execpt global texture resoloution is set to high for the plane. With default fsx aircraft I can get 20 with the sliders maxed out, but it doesn't make much of a diffrence because the crappy graphics card displays it like legos. I just want to run the addon plane and I do not care about the scenery. Its like the PMDG 737NGX or the Airbus X. I get 5 fps max on those planes. No matter what I do the frames don't change. If I set all the sliders to high then I still get 3 fps. If I set it to low, I get 3 fps. The scenery changes but the fps doesn't. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do to improve fps? Thanks in advance.
