I own both the JF L1011-500 and the CS L1011-100.They are both decent aircraft,but my preference is to the CS version.Let me first point out the positive things on the JF with respect to the CS: There is a galley smoke test There is a brake temperature test The altimeter must be set manually below 18000 feet You can effectively detach the DLC The chronometer is good:up to many hours of flight can be recorded (no chronometer on the CS) The oxygen masks can be tested Now on the down side (JF vs CS): The slat monitor test is incorrect There is no side window heat There is no external power There is no alt antiskid test The lighting in the dawn and dusk zones is very bad The INS lines up extremely slowly Fire test lights do not light up There is no turb cooling air light Wheel well fire test is incorrect No oil quantity test APU works without fuel supply COM frequency logic ( if you go up from 124.95,you get 125,i.e. the integers and the decimals are not independent) No functioning weather radar the AP VS switch goes in the wrong direction no voice recorder test only the main door opens (in P3D v4.5,which I use) incomplete light test you cannot disconnect the AP from the yoke No sunscreens No payload/fuel configurator As far as the flight model is concerned,both are probably not very correct,but the JF version of a landing with DLC is totally wrong.I was a real life pilot myself,and I would never ever fly a plane with these landing characteristics.The CS version is landable with DLC,although it feels somewhat rigid. I love the Tristar,and in my opinion CS has succeeded better in simulating this wonderful aircraft.
  2. Having reloaded the Falcon for the third time,I finally got everything working.(except still no TCAS whatsoever,even using only the default P3d aircraft). I am grateful to now have a fully (or almost) operational Falcon 50.
  3. Having said all this,the Falcon50 still remains my favourite aircraft,I even prefer it to my (very expensive) PMDG 747-800
  4. I did not notice before because all of my previous flights where less than 1 hour long,so the feeder tanks were sufficient there.Once I started doing a longer flight,I ran out of fuel in the nr1 and nr3 engines,and because the nr1 and nr3 feeder thanks were empty,I could not do an air restart.
  5. I am having exactly the same issue in P3D v4.5! All switches correct and still,the feeder tanks empty out.
  6. Thanks,but I should at least get the TCAS visual test,right?I redownloaded the software from Simmarket,reinstalled it and again,no TCAS at all. Maybe it is a P3D v4.5 thing.Any other P3D v4.5 pilots experiencing this?

First of all,nothing but praise for this wonderfull software.I love the way she flies,her wonderfull old style cockpit,her outside looks.I know that the competition also has a Falcon 50 to offer,but this,in my opinion cannot compare to the Flysimware Falcon 50. I have only 1 thing that does not seem to work.I am running P3D v4.5 64 bit.I have the F35 installed as my startup flight.I have a functioning Weather Radar.But the TCAS does not seem to work.Not in STBY,not in TARA,not in TA,not in TRANSPONDER.When I push the test button,I get the correct sound,but no test image. My airtraffic program is Traffic 360.I have it set for 75% traffic in the P3D settings.I tried 100%,but this makes no difference.I want to mention that TCAS works in my PMDG airplanes,so it is not my computer that is at fault here.Maybe someone out there knows what the problem might be.I already reinstalled the Falcon once to clear another problem.Could anyone please advise here?Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi,I have a weird issue.I checked the forum and no one else seemed to have experienced this.When the airplane is powered up and the avionics switch is on,all avionics light up EXCEPT the pedestal NAV1,COM1,NAV2 and COM2 units.Their on/off switches are ON.Any advice here? I tried a startup situation with another airplane with the avionics ON, but this does not change anything.I completely reinstalled the aircraft,but again nothing changes.Thanks for any advice.
  10. Sorry,I am mistaken.The readout on the FMS is in pounds,the readout on the dashboard is in KG.You are right about this issue.
  11. You cannot actively transfer fuel from one tank to the other.You can keep the fuel in the 2 tanks equal

  13. Yes,and I now know that the best thing to do is to put the fuel crossfeed valve to open at the beginning of the flight.This does indeed keep the fuel tanks balanced.

All of a sudden I found that it does work.With the HSI on full arc and the WX switch to on,I got a working WX radar to my big surprise.I hope you find this too Madair01 and thank you for your reply. I was also thinking that the TCAS was not functional,but there too,I got an image of an approaching plane. Vert satisfied with this plane now!

  16. Hi, Does anyone know how to operate the fuel crossfeed on this aeroplane.Putting the crossfeed valve to open and shutting one of the fuel pumps does not seem to have any effect. If you use the hotel mode prior to startup,you get a fuel inbalance and it would be nice to equalize fuel tanks during cruise flight.

To 46 pilot: Thank you very much for your insights into this matter and for your general flying tips.I am an (amateur) real life pilot and I have no doubts that your words on the PL white notch position are indeed correct.When in this position ,the airplane seems to behave as she should behave for this type of turboprop.Ever since I applied this,the airplane seems to have the correct speeds and engine temperatures. I do have one question:when on the ground after landing and with the right engine in hotel mode,if I then want to shut down the right engine,do I take it out of hotel mode first (letting the props rotate),or do I shut the right engine down in hotel mode?The manual seems to have nothing to say on this matter.Thanks for any replies!

Hey, Overall I am very satisfied with this new Carenado addon.So far I have flown 4 flights with it and she performs quite adequately.I do have a question:does anyone know how to make the weather radar appear on the HSI? I do have Active Sky active but I receive no returns.(I put the WX radar switch in the cockpit to on);But I see no returns on any of the possible HSI screens.Glad for any answer!
  19. Hey guys! Thank you for updating the DC6 for P3D.When the DC6 originally came out,I found it very difficult to handle.So,I put it aside and went on to fly other aircraft. Recently I noticed that the DC6 was updated,and now she is very flyable.Also, in the past,she was prone to CTD's.RIght now,she is a whole lot more stable. I think I can say that PMDG,together with A2A ,produce top level propliners.For people in our hobby,it is difficult to find realistic reproductions of propliners. Most flightsim pilots are FMC and automation generation pilots.For us oldtimers,there was not a whole lot of good stuff on the market.Until now!So,once again PMDG:thank you.I understand that your products are pricy,but on the other hand,one gets a whole lot of quality for this money.What you get here is a totally different product than the run of the mill 30 to 40 $/£/€ softwares.

The Phenom 300.I love this plane.I hate this plane.Let me tell you first that on my system,I can run the PMDG QOTSA III,together with Active Sky,Orbx Global, Flightsimcommander,ProATCX,Navigraph charts ,Traffic 360 and High Resolution Airport commercial scenery without any problems.Yet the humble Phenom causes CTD now and then for no reason whatsoever.Yet she is a sublimely beautiful and state of the art aeroplane that I just cannot dismiss.She is elegance pure.But she really is like a naughty mistress.I am running her on P3Dv4.3 64 bit version in Windows 10.Why is she causing me all these headaches? First of all,I would like to say that I agree with someone on this forum who says that in the real Phenom,no one would install a GTN 750.I own this software but for authenticity's sake would not install it in my Phenom.I know that the G 1000 can be a pain in the ...,but this is the instrument installed in the real thing.I was happy when Carenado decided to provide Navigraph support for it ,and unlike in their Citation II,it really works here.But I still have a few problems that I am unable to resolve.Maybe some of you old hands may have a solution for some of these: Some people have suggested that in order to improve performance,it is possible to shut down the copilot's PFD.The clickspot in on the top left of the PFD. I tried this but it does not work.Maybe it is a P3D v4.3 thing .Can anyone tell me if this is possible? When I put in altitudes in the flightplan,they are usually rejected and the standard 20000 feet comes back after I enter my self chosen altitude.Anyone experience this? Lately,I find that it is sometimes impossible to activate the yaw damper.I can push the button,but the caption says it remains OFF.(My AP is on at the time I try this) The weather radar does indeed only work on the ground.So,please,Carenado,consider fixing the radar scan angle. When I push the button to test whether my plane config is appropriate for take off,there is no sound.Sometimes I get a message if the config is inappropriate:No takeoff,flaps or something.But should I not be hearing:Takeoff OK,when I am correctly set up? OK,I can take my sweetheart out for a spin,and now and then I complete the flight without much of a hassle.I am so proud to be seen with this beauty at busy airports.I can even surmise the jealousy of the heavy Boeing and Airbus pilots,when I elegantly pass them on the tarmac.But still,I would like her to be much more consistent and reliable (faithful to me). Ok guys,I would be very grateful for any piece of advice.Even if you cannot advise me at all,I will probably not leave her.For that,she is just too beautiful.I am a weak fellow.

  23. Hey,thanks guys for the replies.Rudi,I did what you suggested and setup real bad weather in Active Sky and,yes,there are returns!Thank you. Dave,I made a typographical error,I am running P3Dv4.My apologies.Thibod,I used manual throttle to take-off and must have overboosted the engines,what would account for the flickering.When I tried with AT engaged,it indeed did not flicker anymore.Thanks! Dave,I was not aware that the WX radar only reflects active precipitation.You know, Active Sky is pretty good and maybe we have all been misled by earlier cheaper weather radars.Thibod,I have to check on the green reference pointer.I think I got it wrong because what I did was read the numbers on the longitudinal trim readout wrongly:There is a dot before those numbers and when it read .7 I put the elevator trim on .7,not 7 as I should have.I noticed that when I put in the correct reading,i.e. 7 in this case,the green pointer does indeed align. So guys,you effectively solved all my problems.Thanks so much for the great advice.I learned a lot from you.
  24. Hi, First of all my congratulations to the team who made this wonderful software!It is a rare piece of perfection.I simply adore the lines of the DC9/MD80/717. I flew the F1 DC-9 classic and the TFDI 717 and they are really good.But in the DC-9 there is no FMC and it is hard to do the more modern flights.The 717,on the other hand,is all glass,and I miss the old school panel.So the Maddog is the perfect compromise.The flight model is amazing,as is the internal lighting.. For me,I have 2 little problems.Maybe someone here can point me in the right direction:I keep on getting the slats auditory warning on Takeoff.I use the configurator to setup the plane and then I set the CG in the airplane;For example,yesterday the CG was 10.5.I set this in the pedestal with flaps 15.It gave me 0.7 as output,which I consequently set in the elevator trim.On Takeoff,with flaps 15 set,speed brake armed,autobrakes set to Takeoff,I got the slats warning and some of the engine gauges were flickering;(I do not know whether this is related).Can anyone explain me the exact procedure to transfer configurator data to the Maddog? My second problem concerns the weather radar.I have the Hifi Active Sky for P3Dv4 and I put this in the configurator .I can do the WX radar test,I can start the WX radar in WX or WX/T,I can use the tilt command and the WX VAR, I know about the rotatory button on the pilot display to increase/decrease light intensity. But to this day,I have not had a single radar reflection.I have been surrounded by clouds and bad weather,but never a radar signature.I want to say that I can succesfully ask acars weather for departure and destination on the FMC. I somewhat reminds me of the TDFI 717 which always had extremely little radar returns on its weather radar.Maybe there is a link there as the Leonardo team uses the TDFI lighting software (trueglass and...).Anyhow does anyone have the same problem with the Hifi Active Sky program and the MaddogX? I run P3Dv2 64 version on Windows 10. Thanks for any input!
