  1. This statement by Multisim is completely FALSE. While I do agree that running with Administrator privileges has nothing to do with performance benefits, it has everything to do with avoiding the clutches of UAC, which in Windows 10 is more aggressive than in previous versions (I can't speak for Win 11, since I don't run that). Installing outside the default path will go a long way to help there, but still! I agree completely with Nocturnal, I have been running P3D, FSX and other applications with Administrative privileges for years and have never had problems with that. Jorgen
  2. Again, read your EULA.... you know, that thing you agreed to when you installed P3D? You can be assured that L-M is in communication with the people who have the thing required: a service contract. Jorgen
  3. And as useful as the discussion on Lockheed Martin P3D Licensing. On which a moratorium was placed. Jorgen
  4. A quote from Multisim: "Please stop spreading BS like this. Some people are really desperate and will believe anything about P3D as long as it's something they want to hear. It's not nice to them to give them false hope." The same is true for MSFS2020, as long as some one wants to hear it they will believe it. I shall specifically refrain from comparing the two products, only saying that this thread has become a useless rumor mill (for both products), and I would urge the moderators to place a moratorium on it. Jorgen
  5. This one can be difficult. You need to try googling "kernelbase.dll crash" or something similar, I am afraid you'll have a lot of reading to do! Jorgen
  6. A couple of things to try: 1. From a command prompt, run as Administrator, type this: sfc /scannow Let it run, takes a little time. 2. Run Windows Update, and make sure that in Update, the switch "Receive updates for other Microsoft products" is set to On. Important: leave this switch On in the future. Jorgen
  7. Kand, you clearly read something into my post that is not there. - the opening sentence you have totally misunderstood. What I mean by that is exactly what I wrote, nothing else. If anyone (sorry if this sounds harsh) interprets that in any way other than exactly as written, then that is their problem. And the time I spend on the L-M forum does not mean that I am on any inside of anything. I am simply there because I on occasion can help someone out. I'll believe there is a new version and what's in it when I see it, not before. I have seen enough vaporware in my time. Please, do not take this personally, or as an attempt to start a flame war. I always attempt to write exactly what I mean.... Jorgen
  8. I think some here need to rein in their horses and speculations a little bit, because: #1: No one knows IF there is going to be a new whatever version (except those that don't talk), #2: If there is going to be a new version, it may be a Hotfix, it may be a v. 5.4, or it may be a v. 6 - or maybe something "entirely different". Again, no one knows (see above). Jorgen
  9. So, what have you actually done to make P3D more stable? Have you posted your issues anywhere, and if so, what was the outcome? When you say "unstable", I am assuming you mean it crashes on you. The I notice that you fly in VR. I don't do that myself, but have read enough about it to know that VR is really a CPU hog, sitting on top of another CPU hog - P3D. So I doubt that 4.5 GHz is fast enough..... Jorgen
  10. I really hate to point fingers, but now I have to ask jfri: you say P3D is unstable - that is of course on YOUR system. And that generates more questions: what P3D version what OS version, what system specs, and what have you done so far to fix the situation? One thing is certain, and you can take this to the bank: if you just sit back and say "It is unstable", then absolutely nothing is going to happen. You have to put in a little effort.... Jorgen
  11. You need to treat this as any other crash in P3D, and what is needed to troubleshoot that is the error information from the time of the crash in Windows Event Viewer. Jorgen
  12. Gotcha! I have been wondering what that meant. Thanks - Jorgen
  13. The reason some cargo versions are in the passenger folder, is that these cargo versions are converted from passenger aircraft - the designators BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) and BDSF (I have no idea what that stands for...). Jorgen
  14. A difficult one! I googled "stack hash corruption" and the best probable solution I saw was this: Good luck - Jorgen
  15. For the FAIB 747-400, there are a total of 7 folders: 747-400 GE 747-400 PW 747-400 RR 747-400D GE 747-400F GE 747-400F PW 747-400F RR None of these folder should be deleted. I would encourage the OP to re-download the repaints in question, making doubly sure they are for P3D, and then, in the 747-400 GE folder delete only those repaints and re-install them from the downloads. Sometimes doing this manually beats the hell out of doing it by AIM.... Jorgen
  16. I don't really think mr. Multisim has been a guest on Lockheed Martin's P3D forums. He refers to OOMs and bad FPS, in many cases caused by the user simply not reading and heeding the minimum system requirements. We see that time and time again there. Then there are GPU driver issues - NOT a L-M problem! And so on and so forth.... plus, of course, the user has to be reasonably responsive and actually attempt the solutions proposed. Just my 5 cents.... Jorgen
  17. Interesting comments. I have a nVidia GTX 960 with 4 GB, and I run v. 5.3 HF2 just fine. But then again, I am not pushing my settings, and I am going to get another card "real soon now" - well, that is what I am telling myself.... Jorgen
  18. Take look at this, from your error report: "Exception code: 0xc0000005" It means that "something" tried to write to an area of RAM where it had no access rights. This "something" is usually a badly programmed or incompatible add-on, and in all the cases of this exception code that I have seen, including on my own system, has proven to be that. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the error report that points to the culprit.... Jorgen
