  1. I should clarify I hope that FSW is successful but I am very skeptical, based on history.
  2. Im not sure I'm ready to trust a company that has a track record like DTG when it comes to "putting consumers first". Ask a train sim user how happy they are with the base sim cost after the thousands in DLC they shoved down people's throats.
  3. MSAA 8X I think. The supersampling one is above my PC's current ability.
  4. While the performance of P3Dv4 is phenomenal, I'm noticing I had better FPS in clouds running AS16+Rex softclouds in v3. Could that be because the default clouds are at 2048 texture size as opposed to SC's 512 with compression? I understand this isn't very scientific, just curious really.
  5. I'm pretty sure the ground power cart textures are messed up too on the 700.
  6. I made another thread without seeing this one, but I have the same issue with a Logitech Extreme 3D pro.
  7. None of my assigned joystick buttons function anymore. I am using a Logitech Extreme 3D pro. Everything was fine until I updated to 0.3.42. Reverting to non-experimental version fixed issue.
  8. The freeware Lorby addon organizer temporarily creates a scenery.cfg that contains all sceneries, even those added by XML. You then run AEC and once it's complete, it will return the scenery.cfg to standard.
  9. I try to use freeware AFCADS as much as possible which usually fix the elevation issues. I'm hoping now that Orbx has kicked the clowns at Pilot's to the curb, we'll see faster turnarounds on elevation issues in Vector. There are a few places where river elevations are causing canyons where there shouldn't be.
  10. Ok, I tried running PTA.exe in Windows 7 compatibility mode, it does create a settings.res file when activation succeeds and does not ask for it again. For experiment's sake, I temporarily deleted the new settings.res file that was created and the same issue occurs again. I restored the file and it seems to be ok. I believe there is an issue with how the settings.res file is generated.
  11. PTA is not creating the settings.res file in my case, despite being run as administrator.
  12. Just wait for a real developer to do KEWR.
  13. Now that the livery repair function has been fixed in OC, reinstalling your products is no issue at all for me. Took 20 minutes to reinstall all your products.
  14. They seem to foster this "self-appointed mod" attitude on this forum so I doubt you'll be seeing any real moderation. Thank goodness this isn't their primary method of customer support. I have the 737 in v4, though. Happier than a pig in mud. Incredible how far this sim has come in the past 2 years.
  15. Because they haven't accrued the necessary funds to defend against the onslaught of lawsuits related to head explosions.
  16. I don't see the value in continuing this debate further, but Gulfstream was unwilling to disclose information to aid in simulation. The company in question did data gathering on an aircraft in field with the permission of the owner in order to create the simulation. This is where the lawsuit came in. Level-D certification only comes after the device is ready for training, not prior to its inception, regardless of aircraft manufacturers' involvement. It is astronomically expensive to source parts from the OEM, most simulation companies design and manufacture (or source) high fidelity replicas. Furthermore, most sim parts see much more use than their real world counterparts and are over built compared to them. Sometimes hardware/software/flight data must be obtained from the OEM but this is minimized to the fullest extent to increase margins. You'd be surprised when you say most manufacturers are unable to create simulators; they have the technology, the issue is the margins selling devices is tiny. Personally, I am hoping VR develops into a viable training technology. That being said, I would love to see a collaboration of LevelD and PMDG on that 757 they are finishing up, even if it means a further delay. Even if the aircraft is nearing end of life, there is nothing in market that fulfills its mission.
  17. As mentioned, every time I start PTA, it asks me to enter my serial as if the program is being run for the first time. The PC shouldn't have any issues with admin rights and the program itself is located in a full permissions folder. I have tried reinstalling, moving folders, running in safe mode. I emailed Matt for support, but he must be swamped so I figure I would ask on the forums. It's worth mentioning that once I enter the serial, every works fine including the application of tweaks.
  18. I worked for one of the companies you mentioned and was present during the litigation process.
  19. Level-D simulator manufacturers have been sued for trying to build Gulfstream devices.
  20. I was going to say, if LM paid their engineers an average of $250k/year I'd be banging down the door. LOL The P3D Facebook groups alone have over 10000 members so it isn't a stretch to imagine they are getting a return on their investment.
  21. The [fltsim] sections of your aircraft.cfg will point to all installed liveries, i'd copy those sections somewhere and when the new aircraft.cfg is written, copy those sections back in.
  22. This practice of having to reinstall the product completely to update is a little questionable.
  23. But hurry the heck up with the 737, am I right? :P
