  1. Also just curious does FSX look better in 1920x1080 or a higher PC monitor setting? I mean if there isn't much difference from 1920x1080 tv versus a expensive monitor then just getting a TV for a monitor makes lots of sense as I could get a bigger tv than monitor.
  2. Interesting I hadn't thought about getting a tv to use as a monitor. I was pretty astounded at the price of that monitor. I just figured a TV would not work as well or something. Certainly learned something there. Thank you for the explanation on FS2crew I know which to get now.
  3. For the 737 NGX which FS2crew package should I get? They have multiple ones listed on the site for the 737 and I don't want to get the wrong one.
  4. How about monitors? The one I am thinking of getting is a Dell Ultrasharp 30in. Are there others that I should look at or will that one be fine?
  5. Yes there 172 will certainly be on the list. Looks like a fantastic plane.
  6. More great information thank you. Right now my list of stuff to get is this. FTX Global FS Global 2010 My traffic 5.4 Rex Weather/Active sky next cause it looks really awesome so I might just end up getting both. FSUIPC Radar Contact 4 PMDG 737 FS2crew- which version though I am not exactly sure on which to get for the NGX. DX10 fix EZdok Xtreme fsx pc
  7. And just when I thought I had settled on which weather program to get I read this. Looks like I might just get 2 weather programs as this one appears quite worth it.
  8. Thank you for the suggestion I will look at those.
  9. I figure I might as well get a couple GA planes also. Is there another company besides carenado that make good GA planes or is carenado the best?
  10. So many opinions on this. Now I am even more confused about which program to get. Of the 3 main programs being discussed here which are still being updated and improved upon if any? I guess my choice is down to PFE and RC4 even though it appears it's not being developed anymore.
  11. If I read your description wrong I apologize. It was told to me that running dual video cards can actually screw up FSX which is why I went with only one card.
  12. From what I have gathered is the default ATC does an ok job at getting planes from point a to point b with no real added immersion. It doesn't do sid/stars but controls all the traffic on ground and in the air and keeps things moving. This is just a scenario I thought of. Say you are flying to a very busy airport and will be landing with planes in front of and behind you. Does the default ATC do a good job of managing all these different approaches or do you need one of these programs to handle those situations better? Also do AI planes fly real departures and approaches or do they just take off and head for the airport they are assigned to go to?
  13. Yea I think I read there was like 3 or 4 major tweaks you need to do and the rest are purely based on preferences.
  14. Yea turned out I think that was from another video. Ok so it sounds like PFE is fairly close to the default ATC which while not great at least gets the job done?
  15. Yea I watched the beginning of it. Ok I kinda thought it might be just chatter since what was being said didn't match from what I could tell was going on at the airport.
  16. I am very happy to know that both programs can be run at the same time. I was still not totally sure about that. Will certainly get both now. Also is there cabin noise as well? Like passengers talking and stuff?
  17. I just ordered one of those except my specs are 15 GB, 6 cores 4.3 Overclocked. It's certainly more expensive than building one on your own but I also don't know much about computer hardware so it was worth it to me to have somebody else build it and everything. The only thing about it is there is better RAM out there that has been brought to my attention so I might swap out the RAM it comes with and get the faster RAM. I though am still not exactly sure how much of an improvement I will see with the faster RAM so I think I will try it with the RAM that it has and see if it works good enough.
  18. Exactly, now I just need to figure out which order to install and tweak things haha.
  19. Thought of another question. I know that FS2crew and FScaptain come with a set of "cabin announcements" that can be played but I am wondering if there is a way to get airline specific announcements within either of those programs?
  20. Could you please explain what you mean by no ground traffic control? On the RC site it says it controls the planes on the ground and keeps them out of your way for a variety of circumstances? Now with PFE can you get the voices to sound more natural and a ton less robotic with the voice packs? My biggest gripe from just seeing videos of PFE is how robotic all the voices are. If that can be fixed I think I would probably get that instead of RC.
  21. I am actually getting the exact type of computer an Alienware one the guy in the guide said to stay away from haha because I guess I could have built the same type of computer or even a better one on my own for a bit less money. Since I don't know much about computer hardware I figured it would be best to go through a company I have gotten products from before so I was content with paying the extra money and having somebody else set it up and put it together. Yea sorry I am in the USA. I need to go update that on my profile.
  22. Well then that is what I will be getting.
  23. I have not decided which one to get yet either. My choices are narrowed down to PFE and Radar Contact. Does radar contact work with Windows 7? Or do products that work with windows xp, vista always work with Windows 7? Radar contact sounds more natural when there is talking but in the videos I have seen of it there is quite a bit of background chatter which sounds nice but I haven't figured out if it has anything to do with what is happening at the given airport or is that just fake background chatter?
  24. Also after reading the thread you made I mean while it sounds like a really cool thing you did I think that is far to advanced for me. Now if there was a way I could test the CPU above 4.3 GHZ without having to do all that I would certainly consider doing that. Is getting this CPU OC'd at 4.3 like the low end as far as how fast it can go or is the company maxing it out at 4.3?
