  1. I have this bug also, I am at 182 hours recorded through other means(FSE) My meter stopped at 28.7
  2. I do have to say, on a positive note. I love the vibration effect.
  3. I do not have experience with r2800's, just my experience with twin engine and single engine props(DC3's for example). I have also been in a 377(Cockpit passenger). I only have this data to quantify my opinion. It was only my opinion. I just wanted to see how others felt, right now. I have seen other comments about cowl flap performance. Just wanted to get something constructive going if it was under par.
  4. SO my point is not valid unless i used r2800's? I have flown prop engine planes with cowl flaps. I also have mechanic certs. I know how heat works. The heat model is very tame. Obviously my opinion.
  5. actually yes, I fly props in real life
  6. AM I the only one who thinks that the cowl flaps are a bit too efficient? There should be a much higher heat ratio here.
  7. I think if the mechanics of the axis control and the definitions of the sim were explained to me(I am a programmer/electrical engineer), I would have just shut up and gone out for a throttle axis. I can only explain things from my point of view which seemed like PMDG was going out of its way to not fix something that looked broken. I had no idea it was actually neccessary for it to be this way for the "Majority" with axis controls. Apoligies
  8. Reverse prop only works for throttle quadrants. They do not specifiy this anywhere. I would have to disagree.
  9. This will never be fixed. PMDG says it is intended for only throttle quadrants to work. No joy for the rest of us with keyboards and controllers.
  10. Quoted from PMDG support "We did read your ticket and have seen your forum post. Just so we are clear, your choice not to use Throttle Hardware is a choice you have made, not a bug in the software. 99% of our customer base who run the DC-6 (and other products as well) use Throttle hardware. That leaves 1% of users who choose to use a keyboard only set up. Our decision not to create separate key commands for Reverse Thrust for keyboard only users (currently 1% of customers) is not a bug, is was by design. " Where does this figure come from? 99% of your users? Thats bull! You do not state this anywhere in the manuals or information on the purchase screen. It is a bug if it is not specified. So just to be clear, you purposely made it so that those of us without a throttle quadrant can not use reverse prop pitch, but you do not state it anywhere.
  11. Thank you for testing and confirming that.
  12. The engines create a lot of smoke when starting up or running out. Excess fuel and oil burning off as smoke.
  13. Some kind of smoke effects when doing a runout would be really nice. Justflight has this effect on thier version of the DC-6B payware.
  14. Yes, support ticket has been filed. I am sorry for generalizing that post, but I assumed the whole forum post would be read. I would also guess there are people who use controllers like the xbox one for flying. the buttons on the controller are not usable for reverse pitch. normal throttle works with controller buttons though. I use the xbox controller for now as I can not afford a whole setup.
  15. Let me re-explain that. I can read. I did use the function. there is no reverse pitch in any sense of keyboard, buttons or internal Virtual cockpit it only works with a throttle or slider. so.... NON-FUNCTIONAL quoting ealrier in this post since people cant seem to read back a few lines " Sorry, didn't see your replies before editing my second post. As said there the problem is that reverse pitch and power back only work properly when you use a joystick axis to control your throttle. If you use keys or even drag back the levers with the mouse the pitch logic apparently gets confused and sets the pitch to 0 - with very limited breaking power. I suspect the problem is that the algorithm expects the throttle input to move forward again after you've flipped the switch, while with keys and mouse you move the throttle further back." You read the post above mine, it was a question about the toggle command not about reverse pitch failure
  16. Just curious if we can expect a patch for the non functional reverse pitch?
  17. I've never seen real food on an airline before.... Lamb Chops.... *Smacks lips*
  18. When I do my video covering the cold&dark flight I will include the location of all "Usable" items.
  19. Ahh, "Tanks" for clarifying. On that note, is the 10 tank possible version limited by the fact that xplane only allows 9 tanks?
  20. The DC-6B has a fuel capacity of 5512 gallons of 100LL, or 33,127.12 lbs. The current PMDG DC-6B can carry about 4051 gallons. This plane is supposed to be intercontinental?
