  1. Having a weird issue with ORBX PNG, I have very tiny airport lights... See the image... see the little tiny blue lights? Most of the other airport lights are not even visible. Seems to be only an issue with PNG. Other airports look great. http://i.imgur.com/eINZ9T6.jpg Any thoughts?
  2. Hi all, I've recently picked up the Alabeo C195 (beautiful aircraft!), but I'm a little upset that it's missing an ADF radio. I've never done any aircraft modifications before, but I get the sense that it's somewhat possible through editing the cfg files. What is the easiest way to accomplish this, is there even a way to actually add an ADF radio to the radio stack on the C195? There seems to be a free space, but I might just be wishful thinking. A 2D functional panel will suffice.
  3. Hopefully I'm in the right hardware section, but I have a strange question for the AVSim community. I just recently purchased the Pro Flight Cessna Yoke, however the mounting clamp is really large and I had to unmount my keyboard tray (which sits in the middle of my desk). I'm wondering what everyone else does with their keyboard for flight sims? I don't really want to keep removing and adding my keyboard tray (since it's a screw mount). Does anyone have anything fancy like an articulating arm tray that they can push aside when flying?
  4. Really? No way of going smaller? It looks decent from above. I also turned off bloom which helped a little. This is how it looks from above... not too bad, anyone have any suggestions on how to make it better?
  5. I've searched far and wide on the Internet and couldn't find much help with my problem. My street lights are huge. Runway lights are fine, I'm using various tweaks for that, including the fsx.cfg changes + halo.bmp resizes and some other strobe.fx fixes. I'm using Orbx Global and Orbx Vector + REX. Please see the attached screenshot to see what I mean.
  6. OK great, thanks for the input. I think I'm likely going to be buying the Saitek Yoke in April and double siding velcro tape it to the top of my desk. In the future I might invest in the wheel stand pro.
  7. I've got another question for Saitek owners, the mounting bracket on the bottom is quite large, it has a much larger footprint than the CH yoke. This is a problem for me, and I'm assuming for other folks, who have a keyboard tray underneath, not enough room to mount the Yoke. I was wondering if double sided velcro tape would work on the top of your desk? I've used this tape to hold over 15 pounds of equipment against a wall, that's how strong it is, do those with Saitek Yokes think that's practical? How much force is needed to push/pull the yoke?
  8. Do you think this would be alleviated by removing the detent by modding the Yoke as many people has suggested? I'm still waiting to hear back as to the method of modifying the Yoke on the Cessna model. I've seen many tutorials/mods for the Pro Flight model, I don't know if it's the same and I don't want to commit to buying one unless I'm comfortable modding it before purchasing.
  9. Care to elaborate on the modification you made on the Cessna yoke? Based on everyones suggestions/concerns I think I'll purchase the Cessna yoke so long as I'm comfortable making the modifications.
  10. Sorry to revive an old thread, but does the Saitek Cessna Yoke have the same detents as the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke? Someone in this thread mentioned that the Cessna Yoke has much better control, but didn't mention anything about the detents everyone complains about in the Pro Flight Yoke system. Unfortunately I don't really have the budget to pay for the crazy things you guys got, but I really want to get a nice Yoke system and right now it's between the Saitek Yoke and the CH Yokes.
  11. Ok great. Thanks so much, I found some tutorials on how to use the ingame native flight planner plus using the in game GPS to navigate those plans. I've also looked up some real life approaches for both KSKY and CYQG. I think I'm all set. Thanks, I didn't know the ingame planner was so powerful.
  12. I just got my FSX setup the way I like it and I'm ready to do some really short GA flights. When I was younger my dad used to take me up in his C172 from CYQG (Windsor Ontario) to KSKY (Sandusky Airport) and fly over Cedar Point in Ohio. I would like to replicate this flight, but I want to do it properly by mapping out a nice flight plan to follow. Are there any tools, addons or tutorials that you guys could suggest for someone brand new to something like this? Am I biting off more than I can chew? Should I start smaller? How does flight planning work in FSX? Do you use an external program to plan your flight, then does it setup waypoints on the GPS or something? Or do you do it all by hand? I have experience with navigation from my boating days and have done manual navigation before, so I understand the concepts... just need to know how to do it within FSX. Thanks so much for your help!
  13. I just wanted to update everyone, I got everything running the way I wanted to! I installed the addons last night in the following order: REX - For Weather and the beauty of the whole thing FTXG - For the terrain artwork UTX - Canada US Cities - Detroit (includes my home town of Windsor) It looks beautiful and I did a touch and go at CYQG. Loved it. Thanks everyone for their support. Time to put this thread to bed.
  14. Ok, I think I got my list of addons, a little christmas present for myself. REX - For Weather and the beauty of the whole thing FTXG - For the terrain artwork UTX - Canada US Cities - Detroit (includes my home town of Windsor) I might also get UTX - USA as I would enjoy plenty of border flights. Is there some sort of install order? I saw someone mentioning something about ordering something in scenery objects, but got a little confused. Can someone enlighten me?
