  1. :( Does that mean it has to be done manually airfield-by-airfield? Or can it be done once for all and then UT2 will use these plans for all airfields? Sorry I am a bit lost...
  2. I cannot believe nobody developed some little trick to automatically generate (random) flight plans to be inserted in PowerPack... Come on, people, surprise me once more! ;-)
  3. The point is that UT2 has no GA scheduled flights (nor airliners, but it is normal) for small airfields... So these have no UT2-generated AI traffic. It is certainly possible to manually add new schedules in UT2, but I was looking for an option to do this automatically... I don't need to decide at what time a Cessna172 is going to depart, but I want UT2 to fill the airport with a reasonable AI traffic for me... Is it possible?
  4. Hello, here is a problem I am having with Ultimate Traffic 2 (UT2) in FSX. Small airfields don't have default GA traffic. In some/most cases, small airfields don't even have AFCADs for parking AI GA aircrafts. I have read that such AFCADS are created and distributed by passionate volunteers. That is great news. Once AFCADs are in place, there is still the problem of generating a schedule for GA aircrafts... and I certainly don't want to spend hours putting this in by hand. Question: is there a tool to AUTOMATICALLY generate flight schedules in UT2? Even better if it could allow random refresh, so that every time you flight from same airfield you will get new random GA traffic, and not a pre-established sequence. Any link / comment / idea on this? Thanks!
  5. I think what you describe happens if you unplug your USB joystick and then re-plug it again with computer on. Do you keep your USB joystick always in, even when not running FSX?
  6. I am very resistant to jump into LINDA, because I have a relatively simple setup (Saitek yoke, pedals, quadrant, switch panel, radios, trim-wheel), and don't want to get sucked in in even deeper problems... Just out of curiosity, what do YOU do with LINDA tat couldn't with SPAD? Thanks Regarding the main topic, I am reading around that in the Saitek radio stack it is "normal" to have the fine knob for COM1/2 having steps of 25KHz=0.25MHz, is it correct? Since Saitek radio only show 2 decimals, should the normal behaviour be: .00 , .03, .05, .08, .10, etc ? If so, how do you handle a frequency like 123.01? does it even exist?
  7. Regarding the very first question in this topic, that is how to fix Saitek radio panel skipping frequencies... How does this get resolved with SPAD and FSUIPC? I have both (registered version of FSUIPC, newest update), and I using them successfully for Saitek switch panel, already. Just got Saitek Radio panel and I am in the process of re-programming it with SPAD and FSUIPC. I uninstalled Saitek drivers. OK, I can get the outer-inner knobs to change frequencies in the stby position, but can't find a way to fix the skipping of frequencies, especially for the decimals (inner knob)? Are they supposed to be changeable with steps 0.1? If so, how do I set it? Please give me detailed answer if you know how to do it, because "just use SPAD and FSUIPC dude" will not help... many thanks!!
  8. Thank you for the suggestion, I will certainly check it out.
  9. Thank you all for your enthusiastic comments, very helpful. Can anybody comment on expected differences between the two real world models F33A and C182? I mean, what would make a real pilot choose to purchase one over the other if the mission is to flight VFR and IFR in medium/long cross country for pleasure? Is speed difference an issue, for example? Thanks again.
  10. Hello, I am looking for a GA single piston FSX aircraft to practice my IFR and medium / long cross country flights. So far I used Carenado Bonanza F33A with Reality XP gauges FLT, FLN and GNS 430. Very nice, indeed. Now I see that A2A came out with a beautiful simulation of Cessna 182. I know it is a bit slower than the Bonanza and does not have retractable gears (the two things are correlated, I believe...), but both are "complex" aircraft in the sense that have constant prop speed control. What is better, especially for IFR? I see that I could use my XP GNS 430 and an HSI on Cessna 182 as well, but I don't know how good is the autopilot Bendix King KAP 140 that A2A is simulating on the Cessna. Any comments on this, please? Should I switch to high-wings for IFR? Thanks!

  12. Hi, I hope you are still following this... To delete a key assignment, did you actually "delete" the whole thing (from <entry> to <entry>) or put a "null value" in it? What did you actually change in (for example): <Entry> <Key>CTRL+SHIFT+P</Key> <Down>TOGGLE_AIRPORT_NAME_DISPLAY</Down> </Entry>
  13. Hello, I have an annoying problem with my keyboard assignments which often gets reset without notice. This is the situation: I disable the controls from FSX, delete most of keyboard commands in FSX, and I assign all the keyboard commands I actually use in FSUIPC. I am using Saitek controls (yoke, quadrant, pedals, trim wheel, panel switch) and EzDok cameras I am essentially using only F1-F12 on my keyboard, everything else is on my control's buttons. I noticed that sometimes my USB controls (Saitek) don't get properly recognised at startup and need to be unplugged and plugged again. When I do that (with FSX still not running) and then I run FSX I see that most of the keyboard assignments are reset in FSX! Very annoying because then they don't work anymore through FSUIPC. The only ones that seem to resist are the ones I associated in FSUIPC to pop out windows of A2A aicrafts (like hangar or walk-around). I already tried to overwrite the Standard.xml file in both locations (FSX\ and Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\, but it still gets corrected... I would like a clean system to delete once for all keyboard assignments in FSX, so that I can just use FSUIPC. Since problems happen with Saitek unplugged/replugged, I suspect this has to do with some Saitek program that automatically re-write the Standard.xml file in FSX. What could it be? Can I get rid of it? I hope this is clear (not so much to me....) Any help, please?
  14. Thank you, that's what I was looking for. Does anybody know if a similar trick exist for ORBX airports as well? Also, shouldn't UT2 know where static ORBX aircrafts are parked? At least the OrBX static traffic is good looking...! Thanks! Thank you, that's what I was looking for. Does anybody know if a similar trick exist for ORBX airports as well? 15. Apologies if this has been asked, already. I installed UT2 and few third-parties (ORBX and others) airports. Sometimes I see aircrafts overlapping when parked, and I hate that. After quick search I realised that if you are using a software moving round AI-traffic (such as UT2), it makes sense to get rid of default planes. It is also quite apparent that their graphic quality of defaults is different from the one injected by UT2. It just makes sense to start fresh with just UT2-planes. The question: is there a smart way/tool to systematically eliminate all default static aircrafts from the Scenery folders of all my airports? Any setting in FSX, perhaps? many thanks!
  16. Thank you all. I have not acted, yet... I am still trying solutions to recover original system by repairing/rebuilding bcd, etc. (details are so complicated). I am keeping the "reinstall all" still as a last resort action. There is still one thing I am not very clear abut: I remember when I was putting together my dedicated PC for FSX tat in this forum people were suggesting to keep Woindows on main HD and FSX+addons on separate SSD, so that "if HD goes bad, you still have all FSX stuff on the SSD". I did exactly that. Now, this is not a case where HD is dead, because I can clearly see and navigate all files from prompt line, but it is something with Windows not booting (again, bcd and things like that). So is there really no way to re-use all installations, configurations, minor tweaks that with time I added to FSX and all my add-ons, since they are all nicely sitting on SSD? I simply cannot believe it is all lost because stupid windows does not boot up. There must be a way to recover all the "registry connections"... Is there a way to save current registry and use it again after win reinstallation, for example? Thanks!
  17. For reasons I am not going to detail (you will find them in separate post in same forum, if curious), I decided to reinstall Windows 8.1 on my FSX PC. Before I actually pull the trigger, I am trying to avoid silly mistakes by asking here about your experiences. I currently have a standard HD with Windows 8.1 installed on it, and a separate SSD with FSX_Acceleration (with SP2) and a bunch of add-ons: - ORBX products (Global_base, Global_vector, OpenLC, various FTX_terrains, various FTX airports) - FSGlobal 2010 mesh - ASN - REX4+soft_clouds - UT2 - Carenado planes - A2A planes - EzDok - IR5_tracker - FS_Instant_Approach The main question is: What would be the cleanest way to reinstall all this? The second question is: Is there a way I could make this less painful, for example by keeping FSX and Add-ons already installed on SSD and just re-installing Windows on HD? The final question is: what should I really avoid doing (typical mistakes)? Many thanks for your help!!
  18. I got a success for FixMbr and FixBoot, but "zero" Windows installations found... Any advice? When you say "nuke the drive and start over", you mean reformatting and re-installing everything? Currently I have two physical disks: a standard HD where I have Windows, and a SSD where I did installed FSX and all adds-on, although I noticed that in the Windows drive there are a couple of folders&files with add-ons names...a bit suspicious. I also have an "image" from october 2014, saved on a third external drive. In your experience, what is better from a FSX point of view: 1) go-back to saved image 2) reformat HD, reinstall in HD Windows, but leave SSD intact with FSX and add-ons 3) reformat HD and reistall Windows on HD and reinstall FSX & add ons on SSD again? Did this ever happen to you? Thanks
  19. No luck... I tried bootrec /FixMbr bootrec /FixBoot bootrec /ScanOs bootrec /RebuildBcd But still can't boot up. Is re-installing windows 8.1 a bad idea? What happens to FSX and all addons ?
  20. Now I know: http://blog.laptopmag.com/disable-error-reporting-windows
  21. Looking back, I could have probably done with FSUIPC. At the end of the day, I purchased Saitek switch panel and I am now very happy with it. Cheers.
  22. Thank you, that works! Also, I had another possible solution here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/440471-n-number-in-virtual-cockpit/ Thanks to all!
  23. OK, so here is my final config: Quadrant (PS/2) into Yoke Yoke into PC (USB2.0) Pedals, Switch panel, trim wheel all in powered external hub External hub into PC (USB2.0) All is now working fine. Thanks you all!
