  1. FPS limited to 21 does the trick with Tessellation on and mostly high settings on. Those with overclocked CPU's MIGHT find they can up that number. Also when the view is circling the aircraft, stutters are noticeably reduced further.
  2. Found that as long as Building shadows are completely off, disable HDR, cloud shadows maxed, Vsync On, render draw distance maxed, (AF*16) and ground traffic about halfway I can make P3D 2.3 move like FS9. Albeit with a 4gig 770. So you can imagine what 780Ti's and Titans can produce in FPS rates.
  3. Installed P3D 2.3 today from a clean format of W8.1 and holy s*** LM have got the sim performance down pat now. No addons, Shader mods, Affinity mask or anything. Just running stock install. With add-ons this would blow FSX out of the water. Had to go back to the previous NVidia drivers tho to the avoid blue triangles. Just brilliant. Keep it up LM!
  4. Flown X Plane 10 casually and no microstutters near ground level also. Leaves Prepar3d performance for dead.
  5. Beautiful lighting. No fix needed there and not muddy looking like FSX too. Well im sold!
  6. Yep. I've got Prepar3d 2.2 and I Agree there. XP needs brighter lighting during the day and the clouds are slightly meh but overall could be called a beta FS11 if it was a Microsoft Product.
  7. Tried X-Plane 10 (64bit) New Beta demo this morning and its ahead of any MS Flight sim I've flown. Sheer smoothness and the ground scenery is just incredible. Only the clouds lack from Prepar3d 2.X. By X-Plane 11 this will be tweaked im sure. Everyone has their favourite sim but just to experience this is just amazing. Not wanting to start anything here either.
  8. Yeah. I tried tessellation at ultra and it choked at honolulu scenery. When i went back to medium it loved it. Agreed how each system adjusts to the settings. I heard about that maxing load to GPU. But to be able just to install and go i like to see FSX do that.
  9. Just an observation. With a GTX 770 4gig card with a 4 core CPU you can pretty much max it all out except tessellation and cloud shadows. The texture bandwidth multi thingy does not needed to be edited either (should be left a 30) as I stated above (wrong on that front too). Amazed that Prepar3d comes pretty much ready to fly. But in the end I had to upgrade in order to have this flight sim running well enough as all affinity settings never worked right on the GTX 770 2gig VC. Sorry if im ranting but I just have to get this out as I feel its pretty good template to go by. Lucky those with 6 and 12 cores who will get better performance. Cant wait for 2.3.
  10. Works different for different people. God knows ive experimented with all affinity settings and found now no affinitymask line is needed on my rig. For you Just adjust the detail and try 84 then 252 or 254. And then 6 core CPUS that changes again (irrelevant to us). I've played around with the prepar3d.cfg file and adjusted the Texture Bandwidth multi up to 620 and its a bit smoother but again different results on different PCs. Also set your graphics settings for maximum performances.
  11. Just a follow up to this! I just received a GTX 770 with 4gigs memory from a 2gig model. What a difference the Vram made to Prepar3d, and now without the Affinitymask setting it screams along with Ultra settings.Clouds down tho, but scenery up to dense. Just incredible, no overclocking too. I tried with Affinitymask=252 and that came close but geez what a rush.
  12. Oh. Got it Steve.
  13. Sorry to start an argument. I was going off a quad core cpu for affinity. Tried AffinityMask=0, textures blurred but performance picked up. As I have Prepar3d 2.2 im just amazed how they've tweaked it (shaders, tree lod etc) It kicks FSX to the curb framewise.
  14. AffinityMask=5 if no one else has suggested it. SLI does not work as the code is too old. Also its a 32bit sim so don't expect it to use more than 4gigs of ram.
