  1. Thanks for your response.. that's very cool that you used to make the windscreens! 🙂 I ended up landing with barely any visibility, and it started to thaw out after about 10 mins on the ground or so haha. I'll be careful about the sort of conditions I fly in next time.. love that that sort of realism is available, it also certainly had an impact on the aircraft during flight. Happy flying!
  2. Hey guys, Speaking of icing.. Once your aircraft has iced up whilst flying, how long does it normally take for it to subside once the usual measures are taken (prop de-ice, pitot, defrost on etc)? Thanks! :)
  3. Oh, I see.. so basically.. this is pointless because someone is curious about something that was actually announced by Microsoft? Don't question anything until it arrives on your plate, hey? ;) Furthermore, I'm actually expecting that big Japan region update too. That is supposed to be coming today from what I understand.. so yes, I can understand why people are curiously anticipating it's arrival.
  4. Hey guys, So I just want to add my own experience. I have a MSI GL65 Leopard gaming laptop. I just installed 32gb (up from 16gb)... and there is no question it makes a difference. I want to clarify... for those who are on 16gb, and are seeing only around 14gb usage.. that's not because it can't, or doesn't need more.. as soon as I went to 32gb.. without altering ANY settings in the flight sim, the ram usage increased significantly, and I'm using a minimum of 17gb, right through to around 24gb, and I'm sure I'll see even heavier usage. I completely understand what some people mean when they are questioning wether the sim needs it.. but I think it's too easy to over analyse. We are not looking for 'on-paper' results here.. we are discussing practical results.. and they are most definitely there. Sometimes subtle, other times quite pronounced.. but the sim can, does, and works well with that extra headroom that 32GB provides. Would I say it's absolutely necessary? No.. if you are on 16gb with a powerful system and getting smooth gameplay.. you'll be fine.. but again, you will find benefit to giving this thing some more ram. Hope this helps someone 🙂
  5. Good to know 🙂 I'll most likely go to 32gb tomorrow. I'm actually on a gaming laptop, and was actually really surprised how well the simulator runs on it.. almost maxed out. It's just 1080p..but for the most part it's an amazing experience. I feel 32gb is a given for this sim. Did you find less microstutter etc?
  6. It's very likely that any micro-stutter you see in a video, is due to the recording software. Almost every single video I watched prior to purchasing this sim, had micro stutter, and that was a big concern.. though now that I own it, I can see that it was the limitations of the recording software. Of course, any system will experience stutter in some areas if it's not up to par.. however the very fact that I use MSFS 2020.. and I almost immediately hit that 16gb wall, tells me there is no harm in upgrading ;)
  7. Hi! I know this is a very old thread, but I just wanted to chime in and say that this is a constant issue with the 777. It is not just an EZDOK issue. I have none of that, and for some reason my buttons become unusable. I've searched for threads about the topic without any luck, perhaps I'm using the wrong keywords. Cheers John
  8. Just wanted to jump in the thread to thank you also, I was getting this issue also, only after I installed PrecipitFX. Will try that dropbox file also if you don't mind Ps. Keep up the amazing work, PrecipitFX is the best thing that's happened to the sim as far as visuals and effects go.. I'm alwasy astounded at the eye for detail you guys have! John
  9. Hi Keven, Thanks so much for your quick response... that did the trick! Looks breathtaking, can't wait to see more releases from the company in future. All the very best, John Lebesis.
  10. Hi guys! Quick one here... I am a very happy new customer of the 777 Immersion package.. (as well as PrecipitFX). It's just amazing, so glad a company is devoting itself to really raising the bar when it comes to effects. I will support it all the way. Just an issue I'm having... I recently installed the 777 Immersion package.. just on the PMDG 777 base package for P3d 2.5... I am seeing all the other effects come into action, though under no circumstances am I getting the wing vapor/condensation effect... I could be mistaken, but it seeme to maybe have broken the wing vortices for the standard PMDG 737 as well. I've tested under many weather conditions, including the ones that are installed with the Immersion package.. no luck, and no wing vapor. Tried re-installing, nothing. But all other effects seem to be there and look amazing. I'd be so greatful if somebody could help me out with this, as I'm really stuck! Thanks so much in advance, and congratulations on a really amazing product. John Lebesis.
  11. Hi Jay, Thankyou kindly for your response... I did try your suggestion, and it did work! Thankyou. It's unfortunate that this is the only way to get it to work it seems without loading a default aircraft. Cheers again, and happy flying.. John Lebesis Hi Gav! I don't get the mini window situation, but see if you have any luck with Jay's suggestion. Load a default aircraft first (I have one setup to load as default flight also), and I don't seem to have the problem anymore. Hope it's of some help! John Lebesis Hi Kyle, my apologies, it's been a while since I've been in the forums, I wasn't aware.. will make sure to use full name In the meantime, seeing as this is your product we are discussing (and a great one at that).. does this problem sound familiar to you, or would you have any suggestions as to why this is happeneing? I understand it could be on the P3d side, but if you had any input into this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, John Lebesis. Hang in there Gav, I'll keep the thread going until we get some feedback John Lebesis.
  12. Thats ok, thanks heaps for trying though.. I might even try a re-install to see if that helps!
  13. Hi guys! Just purchased my 737ngx 800/900 for Prepar3d 2.5 yesterday... I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw it was available for P3d! Very happy. I have a problem.. If I try to select any other variant of the aircraft, or one I've added liveries to, or even the 'Poseidon' version that the package comes with.. my whole Prepar3d immediately crashes. Is anyone else having this problem? I have scoured the forums, but cannot find anything about this specific problem.. I tried rolling back the video driver which hasn't worked, I'm stumped as to what it may be, and it's preventing me from using anything other than the 800/900 winglets variant. I'd be so incredibly greatful to anyone who could help me out with this! Many thanks in advance, John
  14. Really surprised no one mentioned proper SLI support. Microstutters still exist, and it really takes away from an immersive sim experience..
  15. It's a combat flight sim.. but that actual sim experience is beautiful. I get abolutely ZERO stutter, except in really heavy missions where there are lots of online players and heavy graphics. In general, I don't believe you can compare the sims side by side graphically.. but in general, the ground textures are really crisp and beautiful. Remember DCS is not about scenery etc, but the graphics of the aircraft models, the smooth flight experience, the REALISTIC flight models of some of the aircraft is so good. I actually found it very hard to even look at P3d after playing this...if it wasn't for FTX global.. the textures are just horrendous in comparison. I'm not saying you can replace one sim with another.. they do different things. But do yourself a huge favour.. get DCS and at least purchase one of the aircraft with an advanced flight model. I've never flown anything in FSX or P3d that feels remotely close to the real thing. (Despite developers telling us that it's all been tested by airline pilots etc etc). The sim just can't reproduce it. Last thing.. I agree about the microstutters, some may believe "Oh, it's no big deal.." but unfortunately.. it IS a big deal. It's not just about looking for them. The fact they even exist at all, is taking away from a true, smooth flying experience. Period. I have to admit though, since P3d 2.4, I'm quite excited about how far things have come in such a short time.. We were stuck with a piece of ###### coded game for so many years (FSX), and we all spent most of our time tweaking, rather than flying. On the DCS front.. EDGE.. their new maps and graphics engine is out before christmas, along with more new aircraft modules that are beathtaking. Mark my word. You won't find anything like it,... I promise you that. Invest in it, it will renew your vigour for online flying Happy flying to you all! J
  16. Hi guys! I know this is an older thread... But I have been having this issue too.. Does this same rule apply for products that are now released from Captain Sim that are Prepar3d v2.2 compatible? Or should the migrator still be used as precaution? (I have the latest 2.2.1.651 installed.) I have the 777 and L1011, and yet still got this problem. I'm doing a repair on P3d as we speak... and will only install the compatible aircraft (777 and L1011), and see if it causes the same issues. It basically corrupts the whole sim. Awful. Many thanks in advance for any feedback :) John
  17. Well said! Oh, and I agree.. AU SP4 is simply stunning :) J
