  1. Thanks for responses everyone! On balance then I'm going to give it a miss - I definitely don't *need* a CRJ, just the temptation for something a bit different from the Boeings/FSL Airbus/Q400 😁. Made the mistake of buying the Wilco EMB190 a while ago just because it was on sale....

  3. Hello All, As you may or may not know, Aerosoft have a 50% sale on at the moment, including the CRJ Pro. I haven't seen any mention of the CRJ on here for a while, so just wondered if anyone was still using it with the latest version of P3D and whether you would say it was worth picking up? Obviously there is the whole Aerosoft/P3D support thing (not wishing to start another conversation about that) but just wondered if it was actually flyable/enjoyable, or whether even at 50% off it's not worth the hassle? Thank you!
  4. I found the temp directory - but again no SlimDX.dll I downloaded and installed the SDK pack to get my hands on a copy of the dll and then copied it to the various directories that ChasePlane creates - still no joy. Repeated all the combinations of the above with combinations of reinstalls and verify files and still no joy. Time to give up and see if I can get a refund I think... Thanks @neilhewitt & @arwasairl for your help - much more useful than Parallel 42 support! 😃
  5. Hi Neil, Thanks for the detailed/interesting response! Here's the rest of the message from the log file: Exception: Could not load file or assembly 'SlimDX.dll' or one of its dependencies. is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1) Action Stack: StackTrace: at System.Reflection.RuntimeAssembly.nLoadFile(String path, Evidence evidence) at System.Reflection.Assembly.LoadFile(String path) at A.X.A(String , String ) at a.ab.A(Object , StartupEventArgs ) at System.Windows.Application.OnStartup(StartupEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Application.<.ctor>b__1_0(Object unused) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs, Delegate catchHandler) After installing the application, and installing the standalone SlimDX.dll package, if I search for SlimDX.dll it's still nowhere to be found on my computer. I tried the .NET reinstall, but it exits saying that everything is already installed. Checked the logs in event viewer but there's nothing relevant generated when the application runs/exits. Unfortunately the application installs via ORBX so it's not easy to see exactly what's going on. It creates a temp folder which contains 'Immerisive_Updater_CP_1.exe' and a log file which just says that the updater ran successfully - nothing else. Assuming that you have it running successfully - whereabouts on your machine is the slimdx.dll file located? Thanks all for your help!
  6. Hello All, I've just purchased ChasePlane, for use with P3D 5.1, however after installation I get the error message: 'It looks like something unexpected occured. A log file has been saved on yout Desktop' The main feature of the log file is: Exception: Could not load file or assembly 'SlimDX.dll' or one of its dependencies. is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1) I contacted Parallel 42 support and they sent a link to install 'SlimDX Runtime .NET 4.0 x86 (January 2012)' which I have done but unfortunately didn't resolve the issue. Before I go too far down the road of dismantling my otherwise well functioning P3D setup, just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same and found a solution? Graphics card drivers (AMD RX 5700XT) are all uptodate, windows 10 at latest version, etc. Thanks!
  7. I have found (with an AMD 5700XT graphics card) envtex is ok, but envshade is causing DXGI crashes. Had to deactivate it.
  8. 'Big Sale for Only 11 Days' at https://www.carenado.com It's not overly obvious from the site - the reductions are not initially shown, but if you add an item to your basket it then gives you the discount. e.g.P3D Saab 340 reduced from $44.95 to $22.48.
  9. I have the same, with Linda installled and Linda set to yes in the config options. Have reinstalled the Q400 and FS2Crew and still have the same issue. Anyone got any more ideas?
  10. Hello all, thanks for suggestions. I've heard back from the Toga Projects team now that envshade isn't working correctly for some AMD cards and there isn't currently a solution. At least I know it isn't just me now!
  11. I believe so! Downloaded the base package from sim market and then applied the patch to version 1.1.6.0
  12. Indeed it is weird! I have tried all combinations of settings in envshade - performance / quality, low/high sliders, etc. Run and install as admin, but always the same hung graphics card unless I disable HDR in P3D. Wondering if it might be something graphics card/driver specific, as the only other post I found with this issue (unresolved) was with the RX5700.
  13. Thanks for the suggestion Gerard! I can get P3D working again with a clean shader setup, but unfortunately always fails if I reinstall EnvShade.
  14. Hello All, Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this issue and found a solution: Thought i'd try out Envshade but after installing and updating with patch to 1.1.6.0 when I launch P3D I get the dreaded 'DXGI Device Hung' message at 90% loaded/processing shaders stage. However if I disable HDR in P3D the issue goes away. This is with P3D 5.1 & Gigabyte RX5700 XT graphics. Prior to this I had no problems getting decent performance out of of P3D with all the usual addons. As I have a bit of time on my hands i've tried various things: clean install of video drivers, clean install of P3D, all imaginable combinations of graphics settings, even fiddling with Tdr settings in the registry etc. but to no avail. Not the end of the world just not to bother with Envshade, just annoying me that I can't make it work! 😄(I've checked the envshade forum which is where I picked up on switching off HDR, but otherwise no joy).
  15. Thanks for the responses! This helped me arrive at a kind of solution.. As I still have FSX installed and mostly the same scenery addons installed in both FSX and P3D (at the moment) I was able to run an old version of makerunways on FSX. The taxi routes seem to be contained in the T5.txt and T5.bin files generated by makerunways. First of all I ran makerunways 5.0.1 on P3D and generated the usual .txt and .bin files in the P3D directory. I then overwrote the T5.txt and T5.bin files in P3D with the ones generated in FSX. Next I ran the AIRAC import in ATC-X and now taxi instructions are working again. I'm not sure what the implications are using the old taxiway files, but i'd imagine that the taxiway names and locations don't vary much, particularly if you're using the same legacy scenery. I've done a couple of flights and everything seems to be working as expected.. As I mentioned above, I've been away from simming for some time. After buying P3D 5.1 and the FSlabs A320-X I found myself plunged into addon purgatory - trying to work out which of my old purchases could be re-used and what I might need to buy. This has been translated into days of installs and reinstalls, searching forums, dead ends, frustration etc. 🙂 The biggest headache seems to be working out which products are still supported and have a future - I've quickly learnt that just because a product is still being sold it doesn't mean it's still valid! Perhaps a little more transparency on this front from developers would be helpful. Nontheless - very grateful to all the individuals, hobbyists, developers that use their time to develop these tools! Does appear that it might be time to move on from PATC though - VoxATC looks interesting.
