  1. 🤔 And this tool works with any third party VC?
  2. It’s needed now more than ever in P3D. Before, not so much. But since the sim got 100 times darker at night, I literally can’t see. It’s a nice feature but I have been flying the same aircraft for three years now, and I can’t find my way around the cockpit at night. If it weren’t for just pure memory I wouldn’t be able to fly at all past 5:30pm. So I was wanting a devs feedback to see if it would be easy to make a flashlight tool. Hell, it doesn’t even have to be Lockheed that makes one. Maybe Aerosoft, or Flight1, or any third party can whip one up. I’d pay $30 for a flashlight tool 😆
  3. Really?? Dang I honestly didn’t know I thought I just invented a new idea 😆. I should have gotten it patented before X Plane lol
  4. Can any developer put their two cents in and tell me if it would’ve too much trouble to make a universal flashlight tool for any VC with the new night environment for v4.4? I honestly like the new night effects in P3D a lot... I think it adds to the immersion but I can’t see lol. I was stumbling around in the VC for a least 10 minutes trying to look for the batt switch just to turn on the flood lighting. So maybe a flashlight tool would be useful that moves with the mouse icon so as you sweep the cockpit and it would light up anything maybe within a three inch diameter? And you can switch it on and off at will. Does that sound doable or is the idea more like something out of a Si-Fi movie?
  5. Can anyone inform me of how to properly use IAS mode? I took off out of my departure airport and once I cleaned up the aircraft, I trimmed it out to where I wanted it. Afterwards I hit ENG, then NAV, then ALT (hold) but once I hit SPD my Lear started to pitch up and down uncontrollably. I was still under 10,000ft so I was just under 250kts. How does this button work exactly? To my understanding it is suppose to dictate your VS by where your throttles are. I had them pulled back to maybe 50% when I pressed the button but then my aircraft got all squirrelly on me...
  6. Well I thought I did. Now that I think about it, I probably didn’t... I was in HDG mode. Hmmm, I’ll do another ILS tomorrow and make sure the NAV is selected and post my results. Thanks!
  7. I am using the standard GNS 530 version of the Learjet. Tonight I tried to set up my ILS for runway 12 at KBZN. The frequency is 109.30, and the Course heading is 123. I plugged in both figures correctly. The frequency went into my NAV1 radio on the pedestal, and in the GNS 530 as well. The course I bugged with the course knob. Whenever the time came I flipped the CDI into VLOC mode and then hit the GS button. The Learjet never captured the localizer or the GS. Did I do something backwards? The Red GS flags did disappear but nothing else happened.
  8. Well the actual lights work for me it’s just my physical wheels lock up which just looks unrealistic. I did mess with the brake scaler to see if it would help but it doesn’t appear so. Just for confirmation, can anyone with the Lear just do a quick taxi test under 10 knots and press the brakes just to see if the wheels lock up? I might bring it to The devs attention if others notice it too. Most wouldnt because we all probably fly and taxi in the VC.
  9. Well that’s all fine guys but In the sim my wheels lock up whenever I brake. This doesn’t happen in real life of course or else planes would have square wheels lol. So is there any fix to this issue? I know Bert Pieke fixed the anti skid issue on the Carenado S550 and it worked perfectly....
  10. While taxiing in the Lear I noticed that whenever I applied the brakes, my wheels locked up. I checked to make sure that the anti skid system was on. I did a little more taxiing and surprisingly my wheels would only lock up if I were going under 10 knots and I applied the brakes. Over 10 knots and my wheels would spin if I touched the brakes. So is the anti skid system modeled with the Lear? Or is this a bug?
  11. Thanks for the responses guys. I’m pretty sure it’s just something I have to get used to. Previously I was flying the Carenado S550 which after Bert Pieke’s modifications was quite a fun bird. But the S550 was more forgiving as well lol. This Learjet is more of a pilots airplane and I’m just now realizing that. But I like the challenge. Flying the Citaiton, I really wasn’t being challenged at all. And while I’m here, can anyone tell me what time the clock displays in the cockpit? It’s not military time, so I’m thinking it’s Zulu but if I have the time correct in P3D it still doesn’t display the correct time even for Zulu. It should be -4 I believe from military time but it displays -8. If that makes sense....
  12. what I mean is whenever my speed dips below 180, I have to trim the nose way up because it feels as though I’m about to stall when I know I still have a lot of airspeed left. My final approach speed is usually at 125 and whenever I get that slow the aircraft just acts really funky like it’s about to drop out of the sky. I even have the “Don’t sink” warning going off. My VS is usually 300-500fpm as well. So yeah I’m not sure if it’s because I have those massive tip tanks and that’s how the aircraft normally does, or if it’s because I’m not flying it right. I have read stories of how unforgiving the Lear 35 is in real life...
  13. Sorry I am late to the game, but I just picked up the Lear 35A on sale and it’s a really nifty aircraft. I’ve done about 5 flights so far and I can tell it’s one of those aircraft that treat you well if you treat her well. Anyways, with every flight I have done, I seem like I’m missing something when on approach/final. The aircraft flies like a hamburger. It feels as though one of my wing tips is about to bank over sending me into a spin. I have my approach speeds correct but idk... something doesn’t feel right. Unless this is how the aircraft really flies in the real world. In that case bravo to the devs for simulating such a complex handling aircraft but I just wanted confirmation that it’s not just me. I always check to make sure my spoilers are stowed btw...
  14. I might be late to the party but I stumbled upon FSAerodata to update the default waypoints and such in P3D (and FSX). Supposedly this program makes the sim better since everything is up to date, it makes the airports more realistic because you can use correct SID/STAR procedures. But I do have one question to anyone who does have this program. Does it actually make the default ATC utilize ALL of the runways at an airport? Based on wind direction, time of day, flow of traffic type thing. Because currently I fly into several airports that have more than one adiquate runway, but my ATC only recognizes one runway no matter what the conditions are. So hopefully someone can confirm this program fixes that flaw...
  15. When DL first came out, I didn’t really bother with the new technology. Partly because I was still rocking a GTX 960 which wouldn’t have been able to run the graphic intensive light setting anyways. But I did sit back and look at various feedback from users who did partake in DL. The reviews were all over the place. Some say their sim literally went to a crawl whenever DL was on, and some said it was the best thing that ever happened. But that was a little over two years ago. Now fast forward to today and we have V4.4 on our hands with a laundry list of improvements but I was curious as to where DL stands. From when it was first rolled out, has it improved any performance wise? Or is it still not worth turning on? I have sense upgraded to a GTX 1060 Gaming X which is moderately OC’d and it is pared with a i7-8700K @4.7. Are you folks that use DL still having those 20fps drops? Or is it more tolerable now like only a 5fps drop?
  16. And generally if there are pax in the cabin I’ll sit in the jump seat. We do have a forward crew rest area you can close off but since I only do domestic trips for now there is no need to use it. The most I’m ever in the jumpseat is 3 hours tops.
  17. UPDATE: so I did a night flight from KTNP-KIDA. I noticed that once I started my descent my scenery popped. Meaning it got lighter. About the same “light” as v4.3 at night. Before it was like super dark. Maybe this is a bug. There might actually be something going on here...
  18. The only thing I can suggest is turn DL, and HDR off. Test out your sim. I never ran either but that could be your issue. And like another poster said, try configuring a full moon, and see if that helps. Obviously LM is trying to show off their new moon lighting feature so things won’t be perfect this build. Maybe our feedback will make P3Dv5 not have these night issues. So if that doesn’t work, roll back to V4.3 and wait for things to improve. Unfortunately that’s the only options at this point I can think of.
  19. Oh wow, I see what you’re talking about. That’s actually pretty bad. I can’t recall that happening to me in my sim. I’ll do a night flight tonight to see if I can replicate what you pointed out.
  20. I guess it depends on the aircraft. I’m a third crew member on G5/G550’s, and whenever I’m in the jumpseat at night I can’t see a darn thing. Of course the two pilots have flood lights above their heads with dimming relays so those are technically always on (except for departures and arrivals so there’s no glare on the windshields), but if those are off its pretty dark!
  21. But if you think about it, that’s exactly how real night flying is! Once all the lights are off in the cockpit it’s usually pitch black unless you turn on the back panel lights. So in a way Lockheed was just answering our prayers. We’ve been asking for realistic night environments for quite some time now lol
  22. Yesterday I was stumbling around in the cockpit looking for buttons because I couldn’t see a thing lol.
  23. Same here. But like I said, I just couldn’t believe how dark they made night flying. But us enthusiasts did ask for realism haha! The devs at Lockheed we’re like “hold my beer”
  24. So I purposefully waited until the evening time to fire up my sim (which wasn’t hard to do since it now gets dark at 5:30PM lol) just to see how v4.4 compares to the previous version after the sun has set. I can say that there is a HUGE difference. At least with my set up. First thing I noticed was the ramp and just the airport in general was dark. And I mean pitch black dark. I couldn’t see a darn thing! If it weren’t for just pure muscle memory since I frequented this airport quite often, I would have been lost lol. I guess it’s an improvement on realism. It was kinda cool I will admit. After I departed, the trend continued. In v4.3, I could still make out mountain ranges in the distance pretty good but in v4.4, it’s just black. The scenery kinda blends in with the sky. I will say it does look better. I never realized just how light v4.3 was until just now. Anyone else notice this change? And do y’all like it?
  25. Ok I will try that when I get home. Thank you
