I tried to download RC4 for my P3Dv4.4 but it says it cannot find the FSX directory. of course I pointed the program to my main P3D folder but it still says it cannot find the sourse. can anyone here tell me how to get this program to work with p3Dv4? thanks

I don’t mean to hijack this post but honestly you shouldn’t run frames that high anyways. Sync your frames to your monitors refresh rate. If it’s 60hz then your frames should be locked at 60fps. That provides up with the best performance. But if your monitor is at 144hz then I guess you can still lock your frames that high but anytime the frames dip below that magic number you’ll get annoying stutters.

With all these back and forth comments I still don’t know if it’s worth updating or not half of y’all are saying what the heck is this and the other half is like this is the best thing since sliced bread haha

You’re right. At the very bottom of the page on their website they boast about being open to suggestions etc on their forums but everytime I bring my arguments to the table they never respond.

With everything mentioned in this post, I don’t think I’ll be updating. The fixes and improvements list isn’t what I was expecting for v4.5. I was really hoping they’d at least do something with the outdated ATC we’ve been stuck with ever since FS2004, or maybe an update on the way AI traffic behaves etc but I guess they’re more concerned about the trees....

So I have this issue at cruising altitude with my cockpit shadows. Even if I’m above all of the clouds my shadows still go dark and turn back to light as if I were passing through a cloud. If I’m flying over clouds P3D projects those clouds shadows into my cockpit making it darker. Is this a limitation within P3D? It’s been prevalent in every aircraft I fly.

Does anyone know or has a link where I can find Lear 35A V-Speeds? I utilize the Flysimware Lear but I can’t seem to find any speed documents on the aircraft. Note that I have checked the documentation on their website. I looked on google but there’s really nothing out there so maybe someone on here has some info?

Look into the 2060. It’s Msrp is under $400 even for third party cards like MSI, and EVGA. It packs a powerful punch for its price. In some benchmarks it surpassed the 1080ti with certain games in 4K...

That’s great news! And my whole point of creating this post was to tell the 1080/1080ti users that you aren’t missing much on the 20XX side of things. If you have one of those cards, I say skip this upgrade. Your GPU is plenty fine. But as for my 1060, and 1070/1070ti users, I would consider making the move 😊.

And you are correct sir. People will be like “I just got a 1080ti and saw no performance increase!” But they have an i3 processor @1.5ghz lol

Honestly if you have a 1070, I would look into the 2060. It’s comparable to the 1070ti. But in some benchmarks, the 2060 has held its own next to the 2070. Which would make it comparable to the 1080. And the 2060 is still under $400 so it’s value to performance ratio is likable.

It wasn’t an “idiotic amount” for me, as I can afford to splurge lol. But that’s not why I upgraded. I did because I was going to do so anyways but I held off because of the mining situation. When it crossed my mind again I searched online for a new 1080ti and it was actually more expensive than the 2070. My 2070 was only $530. If you think $530 is an “insane amount of cash” then you might be in the wrong hobby my friend. At any rate, the card will last me for years so it’ll pay itself off over time 😊. Also, all in all it was an average 15-20fps increase over my 1060. I stated you probably wouldn’t see much of a difference between the 2070 and 1080. But I do incurage those with 1070’s and 1060’s to consider upgrading.

I just installed my MSI RTX 2070 8gb Duke OC into my rig. I swapped it over a GTX 1060 6gb card I had previously. It is paired with an i7-8700K @4.7ghz, and 32 gigs of Corsair Vengeance RAM @2666. I did mildly put some extra OC on the new RTX card just for giggles but it wasn’t anything serious. I did notice that in sim the card runs very warm. I have the three fans set at 70% just to keep the temps reasonable. When flying, I did notice a slight improvement over my GTX card. In situations where I’d normally be in the 30fps I was in the upper 40’s and low 50’s. My settings are a reasonable “medium high”. In cruise with Rex SF, AS4, and UTL running in the background, I am getting a steady 60fps (I have my frames synced with my monitor refresh rate). On the ground at orbx KMBS with the FSW Lear I was averaging 50fps. This was with thick overcast clouds I will note. With my GTX I believe that same scenario would have put me in the 30’s or high 20’s. overall, I am happy with my purchase but all of this to say is, if you were looking into upgrading to the latest and greatest, you aren’t really missing much. The 2070’s are comparable to the 1080’s so if you already have a 1080, or 1080ti, keep them. Just a friendly heads up.

What figures did you change with the rudder? Can you give me your numbers so I can try them out?

That sounds like my issue. When my wheels dig into the pavement they just kept on going sideways even with full rudder input. It’s like I was sliding on glass! The runway was dry as a bone (being in the hot California desert lol).

Hi there. When I first started flying the Lear it took some getting used to remembering to turn it on but I figured out that I can’t until I’m slower than 30 knots I believe. Anything over that and it simply won’t turn on. I have tried before. So I can only use my rudder inputs to steer which can be a little challenging. Is there a way I can turn the steering on sooner? Or just have it on all the time?

This evening I was doing an approach into KTNP airport (29Palms designs). The winds were 330 20 gusting 25. So I decided to use runway 26. 26-8 is 75ft wide. Although not the biggest strip of asphalt in the world, it should have been adequate for a small Lear. So I thought. As soon as my wheels touched the ground on the centerline, I started drifting to the left so I put in full rudder to compensate but it’s like the aircraft didn’t even respond to my inputs. Well... it did but really slowly. I ended up in the dirt before my inputs finally came to. Shouldn’t the rudder on the Lear be more responsive? In real life I’m sure if any pilot had as much rudder I had they wouldn’t have just ran off the runway like that. I made sure my YD was off. Anything else I could have missed?

Alright, I need the Avsim community’s expert help! I have a situation with my P3D crashing but only during a specific scenario. Whenever I have accu-feelv2 installed, I get a crash only in the Carenado S550, if I spawn at 29Palms’ KTNP airport at any parking spot except for spawning on an actual runway. Sounds crazy right? If those conditions listed are not met, my sim does not crash. I have reinstalled the aircraft, I have reinstalled both KTNP, and Accu-feelv2 and so far nothing has worked. I made sure my permissions were in admin mode. I did contact A2A but they swear it’s not them it’s P3D. I contacted Lockheed and they swear it’s not them it’s an App (Accu-feel). I contacted Carenado and of course they swear it’s not them. So what do you think could be the issue 🤔. I have also deleted my CFG file but no luck. In AppCrashView tool, all of the crashes have logged as Kernellbase.dll crash. I’m not sure what that intels but maybe someone on here can help. Thanks!
