So I have this checklist for the Lear that tells me the ignition switches are to be on for Takeoff and landing... but whenever I switch them on, they make this audible warning sound (or I assume that what it is). So my question is, am I not suppose to have them on? It seems my aircraft is trying to tell me to turn them off because of the noise.

Flying the new Lear today, my journeys took me well into the late evening/night. As the sun started to set I figured it would be a good time to test out the new lights. The rotating beacon is such eye candy I almost cried. But I did notice something strange.... both the taxi and landing spot lights were burnin’ but they weren’t lighting up the pavement. So I quickly stopped the flight and sped up time to around midnight just to see if I could see anything but still no illumination. They’re bright white so they’re on. I also tested this at two other airports just to be sure. Can anyone else confirm this? Thanks.

Hello, I just tried your idea and no luck there.

I am having trouble with my Lear, I can’t even do a flight because my sim crashes whenever I click to start a flight. I have P3Dv4.5 installed and I did a clean install just prior to downloading the Lear. I did make sure to click on the option v4.4 or higher with the install wizard. It’s only with the Lear because I have tried other aircraft and everything is okay but I just can’t get my Lear to work. I made sure admin permissions were correct as well....

I just want something that is ready to go out of the box if you will. A simulator that does not need 100 add-ons to make it look spectacular. It should already come with updated AI traffic from around the world, it should already come with major and regional airports modeled correctly, it should already come with detailed aircraft that will be made in the same fashion as some of our favorite 3rd party aircraft. That is where every simulator has fallen short of thus far. Maybe just MAYBE this will be the beginning of the end of all of that. I dream of a day where ORBX shuts its doors. I know it sound cruel but think about it. We as a community have been neglected for a really long time and we’ve been forced to believe that we need these add-ons to have an enjoyable experience. And third party devs have been laughing all the way to the bank. And what have we gotten? Really nowhere. My P3D has probably close to $1000 in add-ons just to make it look just as good as someone that spent just $100 for XP11. And I’m tired of that. I want to see Microsoft take a jab at these third party wallet suckers and make all of them close their doors and just have their inside devs deliver us quality material. And with this new sim, we could start seeing that very soon.

As posted before it is confirmed for PC and console. And judging by the pictures, it does look hopeful but usually trailers are “spiced” up and the in game play is not as beefed up with the visuals. Now let’s not forget as a community that Microsoft did pull the rug out from underneath us many moons ago leaving us high and dry. It is nice to see their return, but let’s not act like they’re our friends just yet. In all honesty they’re probably just here to make a few bucks and maybe cut into some of the P3Dv5 profits before vanishing again. Like I said just keep all of that in mind 🙃.

So apparently Microsoft is getting back into the flight sim community with a new simulator made for PC and Console. They dubbed it Flight Sim 2019. There is a trailer on YouTube if you’re interested in looking for yourself. The first thought that came to my mind was “oh looooorrrrd” 😂. But hey, more competition I guess? I imagine they swooped in and snatched the Dovetail simulator back and they’ve been tweaking on it this whole time without telling anyone. Any thoughts on this? I’m sure there will be some mixed feelings since Microsoft screwed everyone whenever they pulled the rug out from underneath the community years ago. That must have left a bad taste....

To anyone that can help, I somehow got RC4 to download on my computer with P3Dv4 (I think still not sure) but I opened up the program and I need a key to use it. I remember seeing something about a key generator in the forums so I downloaded the product and when I tried to run it, it said something like invalid photo? Has anyone run into this issue?

I am not sure if it’s because I’m running the default ATC, but I never get runway 13/31 for departures or arrivals even though the winds might call for it to be used. I’m usually in my Lear 35 or an aircraft of similar size so I have more than enough room to safety utilize that strip of concrete. I’ve been told even the default ATC takes weight into consideration and won’t send an aircraft to a runway it couldn’t use. Not sure if this is true but it makes sense. Anyways, is there a way to make 13/31 active in the sim? Thanks

Thank you. I will take a look at it. I was kinda afraid that you wouldn’t be able to edit payware scenery for obvious reasons but if it’s doable then I’ll see what I can do. It’s kinda a shame though that the original developers can’t edit it themselves and create a patch so others can have it fixed too but oh well I guess... in the past I have run into devs with holy-er than art thou attitudes and when you point out possible flaws they just shut down and refuse to believe there’s an issue....

I have three orbx airports that do not recognize parking. What I mean by that is, whenever I land and get a taxi clearance to my GA parking spot, I follow the arrows (yes I know I’m still learning how to navigate on the ground lol) to the designated spot my sim wants me to shut down. I position my aircraft right dead center of the last arrow and creep up towards the spot. We all know that with the default ATC once you reach your spot the ATC window will transition from taxi configuration to a default parking configuration to where you can taxi to a fuel pump, or choose to take back off VFR. But for some reason these three airports from orbx KEGE, KJAC, and KSTS do not recognize when my aircraft reaches the parking spot. It never triggers. I have tried to enquire about the matter on the orbx forums but honestly I think the devs, one in particular, was kinda ticked off that I brought up the subject. Almost like he was offended that something was wrong with their masterpieces. Anyways, he did mention it would get fixed but that was a year ago, and even though since then I’ve tried to bring up the subject again, I now get no responses from anyone from the orbx team. So my question is, has anyone else experienced this? And is there maybe a fix I can do on my end like using an airport editor? I’ve never tried to do so but I’m willing to learn if necessary. Thanks

UPDATE: I got lucky with the first two airports I had purchased and I guess I wanted to continue the winning streak so I proceeded to purchase KBVS. Turns out this airport has severe issues without its associated region. So if anyone is looking to take advantage of the sale and purchase KBVS, make sure you also purchase the region. Don’t make the mistake I just did 😅. The good news is the sale prevents the blow from hurting as much as it would if it were retail price so I honestly can’t be too mad lol.

I have one region that’s sitting idle in my FTX Central, Central Rockies, but I’ve never actually had it installed. With NA Landclass plus Global, that’s good enough for what I do. I think regions are for pilots that bang pistons. Us turbine pilots fly too high to take advantage of regions lol. But to each their own.

Understandable. It was just a friendly community heads up about two airports that work without their regions 🙂. I know people wonder which ones work and which ones don’t but we can add KFOT, and 65S to the “will work” list.

I know in the past it has always been a grey area about orbx airports with their respective regions. Many pass up good quality airports that orbx has rendered in fear of the scenery being mush without purchasing an expensive region pack that bogs down most systems anyways. I am here to tell you that today I took advantage of the orbx May sale which is 50% off of most if not all of their payware products. I bought KFOT, as well as 65S. Both are noted to *require* a specific region to “work”. I have tested both airports and they are good to go without purchasing the regions. In fact, they blend perfectly with my NA Land Class. I just thought I’d spread the word if anyone is looking for some good GA airports that aren’t going to break the bank! Hurry before the sale ends!

Recently ran into an issue with the new 7070 build not depicting accurate temp readings. The first alarm was Saturday morning I spawned at KTNP airport in the morning and it said the weather was 30 degrees C. That was an odd temp in the morning time. But I looked up the weather on my phone and the actual temp was 15 degrees C that morning in Twentynine Palms. The temp stayed at a constant 30C the whole day and never budged. I flew to KJAC and the temp was also off at that airport. It was 19C and it was suppose to be around 10C. At every airport I looked up the temps were completely off. I’ve never had this happen before I upgraded my ASP4 version. Can anyone confirm these funky temp readings? I just want to make sure it’s not just me I do have it in live mode. Thanks.

Thanks Ray. Also an honest question, but what are your thoughts on PF3 (Pro Flight 3)? I’m reading up on this ATC program that is compatible with P3Dv4 out of the box and it seems like a modern version of RC to be honest. Reading through the specs, it covers most of everything that RC has to offer. So why aren’t many folks talking about PF3? It seems like it should be a hit with everything it has listed but maybe y’all know something I don’t. If I can’t quite get it together with RC maybe PF3 is my best bet?

Hi guys and thanks for the replies. As much as I would like to wipe everything clean and start over on another drive, I just can’t find myself to do so with everything I have on my sim, it would take me weeks to get everything back to normal. I have done it before because of an OS error and sucks. So I’ll avoid that for as long as possible. I will however note that I do not have FSUIPC 5 installed on my sim. Embarrassingly I never used the program before because I never really saw the point. I now realize RC needs the program to run. To my understanding it does try to download it’s own version but since I have P3Dv4 I need to purchase the 64 bit version correct? Maybe this is the hold up?

My P3D is in my program files. I placed the FSX.exe file I made in my P3D folder. I ran the RC install wizard and it still says it can’t locate FSX...

Hello Sir, thank you for your swift response. I did just that but I still get an error saying “Registry key for FS X not found please browse your FS X directory and press OK”. I put the “dummy” FSX.exe folder I created and put it in my program files.

Hello. After hearing a lot of good things about RC I decided to give it a go. To my understanding the program is compatible with P3Dv4. When trying to install the program it is a much different story. The install wizard is trying to find a FSX.exe folder (which I don’t have) so I pointed it to my P3D main folder and it wouldn’t take the bait. So my question is, how do I get this program to work with P3D? Thank you
