understanding approach charts
Hello, I am trying to understand how I would fly this approach chart: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-0565D87339666069BE0FFE7A5F7F4AFA/7FE5QZZF3FXUS/EN/Charts/AD/AIRAC/EG_AD_2_EGSC_8-5_en_2014-09-18.pdf I think I understand most of the approach, come in via 231 degress, and follow the descent path, but I don't understand the racetrack procedure. When would it be used? also how would you fly it? I can only assume that it would be used when the aircraft comes in from a direction other than 231 degres (or maybe ones lower than the start of the DME arcs), and then you enter it, fl around until you come back to the IAF, then follow the lines? Could someone please explain. Regards DcoltGaming

I am trying to fly the approach shown in https://youtu.be/rqDjrFq2rPU?t=10m35s but the waypoints do not match the waypoints in the video, trying both approaches and all transitions. anyone know how I get this? Thanks (The waypoints match the approach chart for a vor dme circling approach to runway 5)

No vor dme approach option
Hi there, When flying with the PMDG 737 800, I can't get any vor dme approaches, to airports that I know have them. I am using the latest navigraph airac. I have included a picture to show the issue. At LPMA, I should have a option to fly a vor dme approach, and none of the approaches match up with the approach plate. How do I get a vor dme approach? Regards DcoltGaming
