  1. I highly encourage this. The reason internet fora are often so toxic is because they tend to attract the most opinionated loudmouths, and those people tend on the whole, in my experience, to be of a fairly negative disposition. There are plenty of good folks around, but they're drowned out by people who would rather complain about things not being Just So than actually go have what fun they can. The more positive people are out doing just that, and not contributing here.
  2. Anyone making this argument is saying they have no idea what they're talking about. Well, either that or you're intentionally using inflammatory rhetoric, which does nothing but contribute to the heated atmosphere. The dev team have been very clear that the PC and the XBox versions are one and the same codebase, there is no "porting" to speak of. The problem is, for every reasonable person like you, there is another who is impatient, intolerant, and just looking for a fight. On both sides. The sim is not perfect, nor is it total garbage, and anyone holding one view or the other is an irrational extremist. There there seem to be not many of the former, and a lot of the latter, here at times. Also, a lot of folks here obviously know next to nothing about software development at the scale of the sim but still seem to have lots of opinions on how it can/should be done and rather unreasonable expectations. That doesn't help, either. But I guess that's just human nature.
  3. I think you mean true Scotsman. Ah yes, "baby joysticks" are a totally unrealistic way of controlling physical flying objects. You know, I really don't care if people hate the state of the sim, and what they perceive MS/Asobo doing, however flawed those perceptions may be. Folks have a right to feel however they feel, and I can't begrudge them that. I just wish so many of the people making those arguments here didn't come across as both and condescending and word not allowed at the same time. It's unfortunate.
  4. I think people should try lock mode before disabling it, there's a lot of benefit to it even for K&M users. If the tooltips bother you you can turn them off. The blue highlights you can't, which is a little unfortunate, but I don't think it's good to suggest people throw the new baby out with the bathwater.
  5. There's a post about this on the PMDG forum. https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/pmdg-dc-6-cloudmaster-forum/142963-su5-fps-increase-before-start-afe-gets-stuck
  6. The number of (arguably) grown men in flight simulation who act like my kid did when she was a toddler and the smallest frustration was just the absolute end of the world never ceases to amaze me. I also think that a lot of the "old guard" are just not used to the modern gaming environment, where cloud-based, always-on, forced-update systems are far from the horrible abomination that some folks here make them out to be. Just have a look at how many people blame "consoles" for that when it's just as much a thing in PC gaming. The world is changing. Some people really don't like that. And other people just are not happy unless they're complaining.
