  1. Or ... in other words: it's not a bug, it's a feature ๐Ÿ˜›.
  2. Minecraft clouds, RW edition TM - under certain conditions TM. Photo taken by myself.
  3. @turbomax: as we meanwhile found out (no surprise for me) it is definitely hypoxia. You could have known it. Why? That's why. And you even SHOULD have known it ๐Ÿ˜›, as you were lurking around in this subforum at that day. Now - would you do us all a big favour ๐Ÿ˜† and go the "other" forum and wail that these nice colors, hypoxia and a lot more* is missing in that "other" sim? * Here are some hints for starters ๐Ÿคช
  4. Well ... yeah ... that's the nature of evolution - isn't it? If human kind have thought thousands of years back "... it is good and perfect as it is right now ..." we would still would live in caves or even sit on the trees ๐Ÿ˜„. What do I mean with it? One step at a time and don't rush it, otherwise the result would be #%&$ยง%. That's what I can tell you from experience of life. You might learn this as well at some day ๐Ÿ™‚ .
  5. This activeX guy is a real PITA. He also commented on some of my videos on YT with aggressive and rude insults. I responded twice or three times to him, then deleted all his posts and blocked him for further comments on my channel. He doesn't even have own content on YT, but only permanent toxic comments. What else can you expect with his nick? ๐Ÿ’€ The usual MS bruiser.
  6. Even XP 9 (released 2008) had already weather radar - nota bene by default.
  7. Really? ๐Ÿ˜„ However, I'm not seeing it in "my" cockpits.
  8. They appear only this dark, due to the exposure time of my camera (and possibly other factors). Otherwise they would appear brighter. You only have to compare both "whites" below. Nevertheless they are still better and brighter than the upper "big FOV" screenshot from another user. What I actually wanted to show is the look of the cockpits if you use different screens. And there are differences ... Q.E.D. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  9. A very valuable variation of failures ... ... VASI/PAPI lights not visible any more
  10. I never have seen such dark cockpits (at least not on my monitor) and I also wonder why some do and others don't. As someone mentioned something with mobile phones screens etc.: the look/exposure HAS something to do with the monitor/screen. Comparison of my mobile phone (brightest setting) to the monitor (not even the brightest setting). Especially the second and third video with the cockpits of the C172 and the B737 show it. If you compare a picture further above (page 2 of the thread) with my mobile phone shots ...
  11. Well ... ya know, my friend ... I've seen so many posts here moaning and making a mountain out of a molehill, I have every right to do so as well ๐Ÿคช. Apart from that, it's not my task to do Microsofts job and rectify their errors. BTW, these are not my words, I've seen such here more than often ("It's not my job to do LR's job ...", when some people - the so called usual suspects - were requested to report bugs or even only hickups in XP). See? That's the people I like the most: moaning for the sake of moaning, but unwilling to contribute anything. I myself have already contributed much to the community (e.g. openstreetmap since July 2008 - 366,692 changesets = over 58,000 buildings, and more - see below) that also MS benfits from it here and there. Had MS done its job ๐Ÿ˜, Tony and many others would have saved a lot of work. As I wrote further above, in XP the problem is meanwhile solved ๐Ÿ‘, in MSFS it (partly?) still persists. So, why should I help MS? ๐Ÿ˜œ I have already done so. Apart from that, I have contributed in other ways to the community as well, but that's a different story ...
  12. Saying "... am having difficulties getting the program set up." is a bit scanty. Where exactly do you have difficulties? A bit more information would help a lot. However, I would suggest to ask in the x-plane.org-forum, there are (for obvious reasons ๐Ÿ˜‰) maaany more XP users than here.
  13. Not necessary, Tony. Basically it is (or was?) a good idea, to use the MS bulding footprints, as they fill some gaps. Obviously even where no gaps are, though ... I.e. these footprints seem to be broken. Meanwhile I also found buildings on the Nile and lakes, where actually ships run. However, meanwhile I downloaded a newer version from simheaven, and as far as I understand from reading elsewhere, the guy behind simheaven eliminated the buildings in roundabouts and houses on the Nile (see above an example from Cairo), lakes etc. himself. Simheaven is basically ONE guy (with some helpers, who contribute buildings and textures) and he achieved ๐Ÿ‘ what a multibillion company as MS obviously wasn't able to do.
  14. I have this e.g. south of GCFV (above) but also elsewhere. Not in every roundabout, but in many. I'm using the simheaven scenery and I have the suspicion, since the Microsoft building footprints were incorporated, these buildings in roundabouts appear. It kills the immersion.
  15. Because they know that raw red meat is uneatable and unhealthy. That's why they prefer XP and not ... raw red meat.
  16. An ultra unusual incident ... ... upper rotors controller failure (even in default helo).
  17. That's correct. And you can use it indefinite times 15 mins with controls working (and after that with autopilot).
  18. @flyingpauls Does X-Plane create a log.txt even if you don't see a window starting up?
  19. Do you have an head up-display? If so ... ok. Otherwise ... . Wall of text TLDR Ignored No, it's the VSKYLABS Scheibe SF-25C. However, you can try it as well with the XP 12 default Vans RV-10. Cockpit from pilot's view - GCFV, ramp 47, heading East, June 12, 15:21 UTC, weather clear. For me, the panel is bright enough, however (due to higher light exposure) darker than in ... ... the rear passengers view (same place and time). Comparison of the panel of both previous pictures: pilot's view (eye exposed to more light, panel looks darker) to passengers view (eye exposed to less light, panel looks brighter).
  20. Like here (what I have shown further above). "The outside" and the cockpit are both bright. Ok, the cockpit is "dark" because it's black (or be it dark grey), but apart from that ... is it WRONG?
  21. You (completely) missed the point. Where did I write that X-Plane is "depicting what a real pilot would experience"? What I wrote and showed with screenshots: eye exposed to much light -> pupil closes for adjustment purposes and to save its retina, cockpit gets darker. Eye exposed to less light -> pupil opens, cockpit gets brighter. It can be this simple ๐Ÿ™‚. THIS! "Too dark" is wishy-washy. If someone can tell it's by this or that amount too dark (or bright, or whatever) and can prove it with facts and numbers, not feelings - go ahead.
