FlightFX Cessna 750 (Citation X)--released
It’s a great add-on considering the cost. It has a lot of character and the systems are deep enough for it to be fun to fly. It looks good and handles nicely For me, it is the right balance of functionality, price and fun factor.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Available Now
Update has helped but I’m so torn with MSFS2024. one part of me really enjoyed the sim and another part can’t help but be frustrated. Career mode has been addictive for me and then bugs in aircraft or with career mode itself ruin the experience. Tried the Fenix and performance was great but seemed to have fuel usage issues. I unfortunately fear that I’ll have to double sim for a while.

Control Settings are a bit tricky indeed...
Have you managed to resolve this issue? I saw on the MSFS forums that you should bind to Electric Bus instead for the C172 but I can’t find it.

MSFS2020 entering final approach
I’m one of the more serious simmers that never actually bought MSFS2020 and have used Games Pass for access. Does anyone know if MSFS2020 will be taken off of games pass in this transition period?

AVSIM has become a toxic community ... a farewell
The word toxic gets so easily thrown about. There is a need for some real concrete milkshakes to be handed around the world. Avsim in general is tame. Some individuals can’t are really negative. I actually feel sorry for them that they can’t see anything positive but toxic is a real stretch.

FS2024 is not ready ... and shouldn't be released
I really don’t understand the negativity and paranoia with this technical alpha. Considering the limitations they clearly articulated on this technical alpha, the signs are exceptionally positive.

PMDG's secret project? The 747-100!
I’m not against this as an aircraft to learn and experience. In South Africa, we have 2 747 Classics in a museum. A 747-200 and a 747SP and recently had the opportunity to sit on the 747SP flight deck and did think that it would be great to have a 747 Classic in the sim.

AMD Graphics Cards - DX12 Setup
Okay, so in the change of cards. Windows reset my display settings and that is where the 60hz and 60fps limit was coming from. I’ll give DX12 another run later. I tend to think that this could have also influenced my DX12 performance.

AMD Graphics Cards - DX12 Setup
Okay, so DX11 is much smoother but I have another albeit minor issue. if I fly with V-Sync On in MSFS, MSFS seems to think my monitor refresh rate is 60hz and caps me at 60fps. My monitor is a 165hz with FreeSync Premium Pro. If I turn of V-Sync, I get bad screen tearing. On my 3080, I never had this issue so never tried V-Sync off. any ideas?

AMD Graphics Cards - DX12 Setup
Hey all, I’ve just picked up a 7900XTX for a reasonable price and upgraded from a 3080 10 Gig. On the 3080, I found DX11 to work well and never bothered to try get my DX12 to work well. I tried DX12 now with the 7900XTX and although the FPS is high at 1440P, I feel like there are what feels like stutters and motion isn’t smooth. I don’t mind going back to DX11 but thought it worthwhile to get some tips from the room on how they are running AMD cards in MSFS as in my research of buying the card I saw many seemed to believe DX12 was the best.

What's your favorite 'career' app for light aircraft
So I’ve also been down a similar road and seem to have found a great middle ground. The Skypark was my start. Great flexibility and purpose but the app stagnated with //42 and has now been sold to TFDi and I’m hopeful. I tried NeoFly and various others that are similar (FSCharter and AirHauler 2). I didn’t like the outside management aspect. I want to fly and not manage stuff. I then joined The Pilot Club and their OnAir VA. This was starting to feel right but the subscription cost of OnAir is a prohibitor. This is a great setup and they have some other benefits. Finally, I’ve settled into Walker Air VA, this has provided the blend of APL and GA and enough flexibility.

What are the highest fidelity planes currently in the sim?
For me, high fidelity and overall experience aren’t always correlated. An example of this is the Flysimware Learjet 35, it hasn’t for everything modeled but what is modeled feels right and the aircraft by nature is a challenge. So it makes the immersion factor very high. Fenix A320 and iniBuilds A300 are two others that come to mind in recent times for me.
