November 26, 20241 yr After almost 1 week I am still "struggling" to find my way across the Control Settings menus 😕 I think I have reached a good way, but there are still remains from previous trials & errors and each time I chance aircraft sometimes it inherits some profiles I defined before and remembered to make global ( All Airplanes )... It would be great to have a RESET ALL PROFILES button that would allow us to revert to the initial default settings ! Idea is to set, for GLOBAL, Aircraft and Specific, profiles that should be replicated to all airplanes and have their names ending with the designator of the corresponding controller being defined. For example, I use a T.16000 + the Hotas modules of an old broken X52 Pro + Saitek Combat Rudder Pro + EdTracker Pro, so, I have created, and am trying deperately to propagate and make default, profiles with designations like: GLOBAL X52, GLOBAL T.16000, ... Haven't yet reached a situation under which I am forced to define some feature as a Specific one for a given controller. With the Fenix I couldn't find how to define the autopilot disconnect button in the sidestick... November 26, 20241 yr What fixed my issues was duplicating the top 2 profiles, renaming them, restarting the sim. I haven't had an issue since, but I'm not trying to do exactly what you are doing. I am using the same profile globally for all aircraft for now. AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

November 26, 20241 yr Author Ah! I was just about to post the link to that same tutorial @Fielder kindly posted ! It's very good and simple ! It just lacks the part regarding being able to propagate a specific profile and / or make it the Default. November 26, 20241 yr Do the assignments stick? AVIONICS ON and AVIONICS OFF assignments on my Alpha do not work anymore all of a sudden. I tried to delete and assign again but to no avail.
November 26, 20241 yr I never could get avionics on / off for my alpha to do anything in 2024. It worked in 2020 as you know already. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. When they popped up that box to provide a name for the profile for General, I would name it something like "General Control Settings". And every time in General, if that box popped up to name it, I would type the exact same name. Same for the Airplane control settings. Every time that box popped up, I would name it "Airplane Control Settings". To prevent conflicts, after you bind a control, you can search for the control that you just bound to see if there are any conflicts. I use a Thrustmaster 16000m. I was able to bind all my views and controls for my Thrustmaster 16000m and keyboard to be the same as MSFS 2020, within 30 to 45 minutes. It wasn't overly difficult for me. Thx @Fielder, @abrams_tank and @jaytee73 for your suggestions. @abrams_tank, I also started following that same approach - with each new ( fixed wing) aircraft I chose to test fly, and had never flown before, if that popup asking to use a new profile designation appears I rename it to GENERAL X52, or GENERAL T.16000, AIRPLANE X52, AIRPLANE T.16000... But! I realized that indeed these profiles even if they have the same name are different for each aircraft, unless yout tick the option to propagate it to all airplanes and / or set it up as Default. So, since I now have a few profiles with the same name in different aircraft, but with control assignements which may differ, I would really LOVE to have a RESET ALL CONTROLS option that would clear, from the MS Cloud, all of the profiles for all of the aircraft, and start it from fresh now that I believe I've finally realised how to do it 🙂 Edited November 26, 20241 yr by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I forgot to mention, you have check the checkbox to set it to all aircraft or set it as default. I think I just checked the checkbox to set it to all aircraft and it worked for me without any problems. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
November 26, 20241 yr For me, it wasn't easy. I lost my settings several times. Now it seems to work. MSFS2020 was not that intuitive either. But MSFS 2024 was counterintuitive for me. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
November 26, 20241 yr Do we know with any precision what happens when we set a General or Aircraft profile as “Set as default” or “Apply to all aircraft”? What happens (distinctively) when we set one or the other? How do we deselect “Set as default” or deselect “Apply to all aircraft”? Or switch from one to the other? It would be useful to understand what we are doing… These options must have some design purpose and it would be helpful for us to understand the exact function of each option. At least I’m guessing that this is important … but may be entirely wrong on this matter. --Mike MacKuen

I was always pressing both without really understanding what's the difference. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

"apply to all aircraft" actually replicates that named Profile across all aircraft of the same base type (Airplane, Glider, Heli,...), while "set as default" makes that Profile appear as the default profile whenever you select an aircraft that has it among the various profiles you can chose from.
