Hi All, I've noticed over the past few flights with the NGXu and QOTS II that in a number of circumstances the performance in the VC is much better than from the external view. It always used to be the other way around in V4 and I'm wondering if it has something to do with PBR. I'm running at 4K with textures at 2048 and generally have no issues maintaining 30+ frames, but the last couple of flights at Taxi2Gates VHHH andSimwings EGLL I've noticed that if I'm taxiing in the VC I'll be getting 40+ frames but switching to the external view gives me 15-20. This occurs even when looking at the same thing (i.e. in the same direction). There is a thread discussing the same issue with the FSLabs A320 here (https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/25854-p3d-v5-external-view-performance/) where it was mentioned that unchecking MIP MAP VC textures assisted, and whilst that fixed the issue for me in the A320 the problem still exists within the PMDG birds. Anybody experiencing the same?

I can see my sister's retirement village in these shots..so it is accurate...and not bad...getting my 31 FPS locked...and no jagged roadways...clear...and crisp graphics at 160 knots...so..for my own wants and needs, a P3D winner. I think Orbx took great care to have optimized this, since it is released POST MSFS...and P3D is their main bread and butter...still! Climbing out of KPGD (Punta Gorda) for a Retirement Village fly over...lots of them in this part of Florida...and accurate...I can make out my sister's home...:) Now..about mid state on the south-bound...looking for P3D graphics, really good, at 3,500 ASL

I was wondering if anybody running P3D V5 HF2 with OrbX Global and OpenLC NA can do me a favor take a screenshot around KFLL Fort Lauderdale area. I just installed P3D V5 and I don't have any scenery addons at the moment and by looking at the vanilla P3D installation it does not look half bad. I just wanted to make a comparison. This is how P3D V5 plain vanilla looks.

Any Updates from Rex Simulation, other than they are working on their stuff... I wonder if MSFS has thrown them a "curve ball"... Would have thought that the update for Rex SF3D for V5 would have been out by now... and at least some roadmap for Rex EF other than "Under Review"...

I'm on HF2 in v5. Just downloaded the active sky beta and tried it with default and EA.. the default clouds are just 'meh'.. EA cumulus clouds and overall lighting are awesome.. but there are those glitches which wont be fixed until 5.1.. so i have 3 paths in front of me.. which one should i take? 1. buy ASCA for better cloud depiction.. i like the in-cloud motion effect they advertise (if that indeed works) and the smooth weather transitions.. also well integrated into ASP3D 2. buy Rex SF3D (on sale now).. much better cloud depiction than ASCA.. but not officially supported by rex yet for v5.. lighting in ASCA and SF3D will not be as great as EA.. does SF do better than ASCA in lighting? 3. stick to EA.. great cumulus, but cirrus is not modeled well.. (actually none of the volumetric cloud engines model cirrus properly.. xenviro has same issue.. MSFS may be different.. ).. lighting is awesome in EA.. in-cloud motion effects aren't anything to write home about.. weather transitions are sudden.. 5.1 won't be ready until Oct and Active sky will take another month or two to integrate well with EA.. so we're looking at Dec '20 for a fully integrated AS+EA solution.. I'm estimating around 70-80 flights in the next 6 months on v5.. active sky is already the best weather engine.. but can you help me pick a good weather rendering engine?

I installed the QW 757 in v5 via the P3D v4 installer. That means that the QW757 Dispatcher does not work any more. Has anyone succeeded in installing QualityWings liveries (regardless of product) manually? I would greatly appreciate any help.
