Hello all, I am completely new to posting on these forums, as I have just recently started getting into sims--specifically Prepar3D. I will be looking to do Naval Sims, so on a side note if anybody has any useful tips on anything feel free to let me know! I am currently using a Linux machine. This is a problem knowing Prepar3D only runs on Windows. I am wondering if anybody has any experience using Prepar3D on a Virtual Machine, specifically VMWare. I would be trying to run Prepar3D on my Linux machine through VMWare. This also raises another question, which is about whether or not VMWare will use the dedicated graphics card for the machine or not. I have done some research, and I am finding many yes it will work/ no it won't work, so maybe somebody can here has some experience with it. If VMWare does not work, or you know of something other then VMWare that could work for hosting Prepar3D on a Linux machine, I encourage you to let me know, as I am not limited to VMWare. The goal is to not have to switch from my Linux machine, as I would have to basically build a new machine specifically for this (probably what most people do anyways, but I am just looking to get my toes wet and see what's up before I do that). Thank you to anybody that reads this, Jake

Hi, I have installed RXP GNS 530W/430W V2 in FSX and after the installation, my screens are now black. I am using a Carenado PC-12. Do I need to configure it, and if so how. I must say that Reality-XP is causing their customers a lot of headache by not explaining for each plane how to configure it. I am using FSX SP2 and Windows 7 Pro. One image shows one monitor live and one after restarting the monitor to show the startup screen All help is much appreciated. Thanks, Lars

I am thinking of staying with v4.5 of P3D and downgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 7 64-bit. Since my current flight sim set-up is working fine, I don't mind if I never upgrade P3D and its add-ons in this PC again. I'm also tired of running Microsoft's never ending anti-virus and upgrading wheel. My mantra for this PC: I am curious to see what your experience has been like using P3D with Windows 7 and add-ons from developers like Orbx, Milviz, Flysimware, Carenado, etc. I have no interest in airliners (eg. PMDG or FSLabs). Thank you.

Hey guys, I checked out the other post under VoxATC fatal error, but it was a different problem. However, I did get the idea to check my err.log: Log Start 2/7/2012 6:49:27 PMLog Start 02/07/2012 18:49:49exception processing simcon messagesReceiveMessages failed with 80004005 at com.intworkings.voxatc.FSUIPCInt.ProcessSimconMessages()Empty path name is not legal. at System.IO.StreamReader..ctor(String path, Encoding encoding, Boolean detectEncodingFromByteOrderMarks, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamReader..ctor(String path, Encoding encoding) at com.intworkings.voxatc.FSUIPCInt.GetFlightPlanFileName(String fltFName) at com.intworkings.voxatc.FSUIPCInt.GetFlightPlanFileName() at VoxATCServer.VoxATCServer.SetupMFSFlightPlan() at VoxATCServer.VoxATCServer.InitVoxAtc() Anyways, it says "Fatal ERROR! Disable VoxATC" right after the default voice comes on and says "test" about 10 times. I run VoxATC X, FSX, and Windows 7 with the default 'Anna' voice. Thanks a lot and plz help,Niro56

Hi all.. Well finally back in the skies after a complete system re-installation..I have found a thing with win7 that annoys me a bit though it is not a crucial problem..Whenever I fly I use my headset to talk in the virtual world, be it those few times I fly online or talking to the AI ATC offline (just to keep the toungue in shape while flying)The problem is that if I activate the "Listen" feature for the microphone I am able to hear my own voice through the mic, only with an annoying 0.2 sec delay.. This makes it virtually impossible to communicate in any fluant language. I've googled quite a bit in the matter and found out that some soundcards (or motherboards) adds a microphone tab with a slider in the speaker-options. A solution is to activate that slider and max it, and simply turn off the "Listen" option which produces the delay. Some other cards, like my own, does not have this.just wondering if anyone around here has experienced it, or maybe even have a solution to the problem?kind regards, johan
