July 2, 200322 yr It seems that the GS and ASI don't match on the ground, and the dot for the MCP speed selection is a full 20 kts more than what's shown on the EADI. Bad download?
July 2, 200322 yr ??? If you're sitting still pointing into a 10 kt wind, the ASI (air speed indicator) would indicate "10" and the GS (ground speed) would indicate "0" wouldn't it? They would only be equal if the wind was 0 kts. Wouldn't it -- or am I missing the point?
July 2, 200322 yr Exactly, but in calm conditions the pointer is 20 kts more on the EADI than what is set on the MCP, and the GS is 20 kts more than what's shown on the EADI for some reason.
July 2, 200322 yr hehehe... There are what we PICer's call *goodies* all through this WONDERFUL aircraft for those who know what to look for.You might want to look at the ND in it's differn't modes with a crosswind and look at the HDG indicator point towards the wind direction too or the inactive-active-modified route color on the ND![h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. July 2, 200322 yr Hey Gregg, For NOW please do not uninstall the product as this will cause you a delay with the Key etc. Could you post some screen shots with all the info please? Shift Z with wind etc and the ND? Thanks...[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? July 2, 200322 yr Just checked it and mine is off by about 5-8 knots as well. Its not a bad download and I will post it as a bug.ThxGeorge George Morris
July 2, 200322 yr As you can see FS and the ASI are roughly 2 kts apart. The GS is hard to see, but it is 148kts. Altitude was 20 feet at SFO. The MCP shows 100 kts set, but on the EADI it appears as 120.
July 2, 200322 yr Thank you very much Gregg.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? July 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member GregWell, I can clear up part of this problem. The reason the Marker reads 20 kts higher than the selcted speed has to do with the Autoflight system. The speed dialed in the window for T/O should be V2. Desired climb is V2+20 so the Flight director will display V2+20 speed on the ADI Speedtape. July 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member You are in TOGA mode. The target speed is MCP-speed + 20. MCP-speed should be equal to V2. Cheers,Vangelis======================================== E. M. July 2, 200322 yr OK guys I tried an actual flight and filled in the FMC and everything and the pointer problem is gone. However, the problem with GS being 5-8kts higher than it should be still exists. Also, I'm getting very bad performance with it, at the beginning the fps is quite good, but after 5-10mins it's down to about 10, CPU load is 80%+, and free memory left is about 30megs! :-eekSystem:1.7Ghz P4512MB SDRAMTi4200 128MB 43.45 driverWinXP
