July 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member Joaquin-of the very few reported issues with virtual memory, 100% of the users are using ATI Radeon graphics cards.Unfortunately, I do not have any such graphics cards in my possession, as such I cannot do any testing, but I have heard horror stories about their graphics drivers leaking in 3D environments...Mind downloading the latest drivers? Also- do a bit of research to see if other ATI users are having such issues - we're definitely using as much of the technology as is available to us today, in terms of graphics card requirements, so this might be taxing your card a bit more. July 2, 200322 yr Wuops,great......And I tought it was the best one....so,if anybody, using ATI cards, are experiencing that problem, please post it here,so we can find a solution. For now,the plane is going good,no other trouble,no BAD FPS...but I still don
July 2, 200322 yr hello,Just wanted to let you know that I have an ATI card, not with the latest driver, cause they are not as good as the one I use, but I have absolutely not problem running the PGMD 737.No stutter, no lockups, nothing, so far...Thanks for the great plane.Cpt Cyrille de LattreP IV 2.4 GHZ/1.5 GHZ SDRAM/ATI RADEON 9700 128 MEG/
July 2, 200322 yr Im using over 600 Megs page file of 768 allocated.. no ATI.. nvidia.GF4-4200-128P4-2.4, 512 Meg. Bert
July 2, 200322 yr Moderator Hi Lefteris,I'm also suffering with low Virtual Memory problems. In fact this is the first time with XP that I have see the warning message. I'm running a Ti4600 128Mb card with Omega KX1.1.82 drivers on an Athlon 2000XP/512Mb RAM.It's interesting to watch the Total Available Physical Memory value (Windows Task Manager/Performance tab) drop like a stone when the 737 is loading. This happens with no other aircraft - not even the 767PIC which is the closest I have in terms of complexity.I'm only running a 2D cockpit so I'm baffled as to why so much memory is being consumed but it does suggest something is not quite right. Frame rates are also suffering and are considerably lower than with the 767PIC and way below those for default aircraft.Given that a memory leakage issue has already been raised and PMFG team have accepted there is a problem I'm hoping that you will get to the root of this and resolve it. The aircraft is a delight to fly. It would be a shame if poor performance marred an otherwise excellent product.Regards, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 2, 200322 yr same here! Athlon 2400XP, 512MB Ram, GeForce4 Ti4200 - only using 2D models and terrible stutter and low frame rates.Looking forward to any ideas!ThanksJonathan
July 2, 200322 yr Moderator Lefteris / PMDG Group,As a follow-up to my earlier message I've taken some readings from my system for three different scenarios in FS2002. The first is with a default 737 sitting on Rwy 36 at Meigs, the second is with the 767PIC at the same location and the third is with the PMDG 737. No changes to FS were made apart from the aircraft choice. Here are the results: -Default 737Frame Rate = 14.9Available Memory = 254MbPage File Size = 365Mb767PICFrame Rate = 10.3Available Memory = 254MbPage File Size = 370MbPMDG 737Frame Rate = 6.6Available Memory = 7Mb rising to 30Mb after 1 minutePage File Size = 708MbAs can be seen the loading of this aircraft is eating hundreds of megabytes of memory and the impact on frame rates is significant. The 767PIC is comparable in complexity but is far more efficient in terms of memory required. I'm not bashing the product - I'm just trying to prove there is a problem and that you can find and resolve it asap.Thanks. Ray (Cheshire, England). July 2, 200322 yr Moderator Please see my message below. Memory leakage is massive. Changing drivers will not have any substantial effect. I suggest you post a similar report if you have XP. It would be very interesting.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 2, 200322 yr Moderator Cyrille,<>Look how much memory you have - 1.5GHz. That's why! Everything is being loaded into memory. Those with 512Mb RAM don't have enough so the page file is having to store the difference and that seems to be why the performance is so bad. But why is so much memory being eaten?Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
