August 27, 200322 yr Well, PMDG doesnt reply to my questions here? Why not?Has anyone else a framerate issue in VC and spotview witha system similar to mine? Regards, Torben Hadler
August 27, 200322 yr Bob,Since you're getting good framerates in everything but the 737NG, a new video card will likely NOT help you with the 737NG. Maybe Lefteris can verify this, but unless the 737NG is doing an awful lot of graphics rendering, you're probably better off with a faster CPU.- Bill Ruppel - William Ruppel, CYTZ, VATSIM 816871
August 27, 200322 yr Hi,if I may...I updated my system to a better CPU, faster Motherboard and RAM and even to more RAM. But I got NONE better framerates when flying PMDG B737NG in VC and spotview. All other aircraft now give me better framerates than befor and more stable. Not so PMDG.There is not a big difference between a AMD 2500 Barton and a 3000 Barton. I dont know about the Intel CPUs, but I guess there will be as well not such a big difference. Sure it will help basicly when your complete system has less bottlenecks and is better trimmed. But I did it and have one of the best Motherboard there is right now and a nice CPU and the right RAM. Id didnt helped for PMDG airrafts. Regards, Torben Hadler
August 27, 200322 yr Commercial Member Torben, we are not "ignoring you" but we have already noted that we would no longer reply to questions that have answers that can readily be viewed in the FAQ. The FAQ can be found here: http://www.precisionmanuals.com/PAGES/737support.htm.The PMDG737 is a complex airplane, and as described in the readme after your installation, frame rates for the VC will tend to be a bit lower.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
August 27, 200322 yr Vin,you see in my sig my system specs, right? What is your system and what framerates do you get and what do you do to get them higher then mine?I cannot believe that you sell a software that needs CPUs and other computer components which are not yet to buy.Even the A320-200 from AntiCyClone doesnt drive my framerate this low in interactive VC view... I got this A320 as well... It is very nice... And realistic. Well, I have to lower some of my sliders for this A320, but it is a interactive VC. Your B737NG has no such innovative stuff, but very big textures and VC textures. Will the -800 and -900 be as framerates friendly as the 600 and 700 ?Than you will loos me as a customer. I cannot spent another 200 Regards, Torben Hadler
August 27, 200322 yr Vin,I just checked out your FAQ. I cannot find many words about FS2k2, just FS9! So, I cannot find tweak details for FS2k2 or what I should not do of WindowsXP and FS2k2 to get PMDG B737NG running with pretty hight framerates in FS2k2.Could you be so kind and please me with some details or am I not anymore one of your target sales groupe with FS2k2 running? Regards, Torben Hadler
August 27, 200322 yr Commercial Member Although the FAQ applies to FS9, many items are applicable to both sims.<>Personally... my system is a bit older than yours. It is a PIV 1.7Ghz. I recently upgraded to 768MB of Ram from 256 (helped a lot). I have a PNY Gforce4 Ti4600 with 128MB of video memory. My frame rates in both sims (2002 and 2004) are what I would (personally) find useable. Being an older system, I personally have no high expecations. In the VC, with all sliders maxed, my frame rates usually hover around 12 fps... 8 with heavy cloud cover and ALL sliders at 100%If I reduce a few sliders (in my case autogen and water reflections), my frame rates jump to near 20.I am running in 1024x768 resolution, 4XS AntiAliasing, and 8x anistrophic filtering.I have made the switch to FS2004 from FS2002, but in both cases, I needed to make sacrifices with scenery. In fact, I made considerably more sacrifices in FS2002 than I do in FS2004.I disable all background programs before launching FS, especially virus protection. What I am trying to stress to all of you who have frame rate problems, is that you need to make sacrifices. This is not a default aircraft.Torben.. your sig says you are running with all sliders maxed or at 90%. Your sig says you are running at 2048 resolution! My guess is that you are running at high antialias settings. If you are having frame rate problems.. you will simply need to reduce the settings in MSFS and/or your video card. There is no magic pill here. VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
August 27, 200322 yr Well Vin,I already tried with less antialias and less cloudes. But I never deselected waterreflections. I like it when water shines quite real when the sun is shining just right about it... But I will try that.Would it make a difference trrying to overclock my FSB just a little bit? But that could cut down lifetime of my chipset and RAM...With my old motherboard that worked and helped over all basicly. Regards, Torben Hadler
August 28, 200322 yr Commercial Member Well.. I know about as much about over clocking as I do about open heart surgery... So I wont even begin to recommend something like that ;-)VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
August 28, 200322 yr Author I've found that my fps, in spot view, have improved after the last patch.Dave FisherCYYZ
September 17, 200322 yr What killed mine, I found out by accident, was a program used by Logitech called Immersion TouchWare Desktop 2.9Its used for touch feedback with things such as their mices !Iprevented that software and now it FLIES.- But the poor mouse is dead - ahhh
