Thomas-I *am* a moderator in this forum, however I will not close this thread at all. I consider Tero one of our (many) very well respected customers, so as long as he maintains his respect and polite manners, I will not only *allow* him to continue, but encourage him to do so, to prod us into making what we consider one of the best add-ons there are, into THE best.Tero- please consider this a "continue your comments", even if they might sit a bit rough in our stomachs... ;-)Cheers,

Ah me and Tero go back a ways ;). I think we have enough repect for each other that a little battle of the wits is a harmless thing. We desire the same thing of course it's just how we precieve this coming about..... [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg

Randy,Good point.I'm not going to go into PIC vs. PMDG here. That's not my intention. I will only say this. It seems that back then, when PIC flight dynamics were done for FS2000, there was no way to actuate that idle descent. The free FS2002 patch was just that, a patch to make it compatible with FS2002. None of the essentials were changed, so that little annoyance followed all the way to present day.Hey, I know PIC has bugs as well. If you'd like, I could list like 20 of them here, serious ones. Really. It's no secret that the F/D sometimes misbehaves, LNAV path drawing on HSI isn't as IRL, the NOT idle descent, A/T behaviour sluggish in G/A, the dreaded "STAR has the same name as one of the waypoints in LEGS page" -bug that crashes the whole sim, hydraulic drooping of the stabilizer trim and so on and so on... The reason I tolerate those is because I've had no choice :). Now PICv2 is coming, I hope they get it all together in that one. But.. to continue on the subject. I apologize for my harsh words yesterday. Really. I had a bad day, and was fed up with all this simulator nonsense. I _do trust_ that PMDG delivers. It's only a matter of time, and I will fly the living daylights out of the aircraft once it performs ;).regardsTero

Lefteris & PMDG guys.I apologize for my language. :(Not called for at all.It was a bad day + simulator mess combo that translated into stupid things. I guess it's just that expectations are so high. Like I said to Randy, I'd like to fly this bird until its wings flex on the ground :). And I will.Sorry, take your time with the fixes.best rgds,Tero

Yeah... I will not throw away your help and support with one of the most important things my PIC setup has: "the dreaded older version of Randy's landing view". :=) Also, I know that once I take the NG out from the hangar, I'll be needing that support again.Hey Randy, I get like a gazillion requests of the older landing view I use (always after I post screenies at FSN). Would it be okay for me to put a package up that contains the BMP and the essentials, or would you be so kind as to provide a link to somewhere where I could redirect the people who want the view ?rgdsTero

Lefteris, you're absolutely right. As you can see by the smiley, I wasn't really serious about closing the thread. It was only my attempt to calm down things. And I think, that everyone reacted in the correct way.I absolutely agree with you that a thread shouldn't be closed just because there is a customer who does not say "great product", "excellent work"...So I'm satisfied with Tero's and PMDG's reaction.;-) Thomas

"It amazes me that you can fly PIC for over 3 years and not ONCE mention that it does not descend in a PTH DEScentat IDLE! Funny our little bird here DOES?"Randy... Re the idle descent (VNAV Path) in PMDG. I don't seem to be getting the correct A/T indications on my PFD. As I understand it, the A/T should show RETARD at TOD, followed by ARM. I very rarely see this. Sorry if this has been mentioned before.Thanks.Cheers.Ian.

Anthony,I did a few test flights with the software and I now think that the 1500fpm target climb rate should be achieved with gear down. A thrust setting which achieves 1500fpm with gear up will hardly climb at all with the gear down, so this can't be correct. Some thrust settings that give 1500fpm with gear down and flaps 15 in ISA conditions when starting the G/A at a pressure altitude of 200ft are as follows:40000kg, 79.0 N150000kg, 83.5 N160000kg, 88.0 N1The problem we have is how to adjust these thrust settings for non-ISA conditions and for airports not close to sea level. The figures above should help you calculate a value with which to derate the full G/A thrust, and perhaps this would be realistic enough for most situations.

Thanks !That's useful. I'll transmit to Vangelis. He's taking care of this bit :-)cheersanthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com

Sure Tero, I think I still have the original file somewhere but if you have it, sure no problem and thanks for asking ;) Thank you also for you warm words here. Well you know that landing panel started me on my journey in graphics ;). I am very proud that my work is regarded enough to grace little areas of this 737 and I owe this in part to PIC. Hehe Ian, That's most true for SU1-1 but not Su2, sorry for not being clear here. It's completly changed in this regard, there are so many advances that I am amazed at the level achieved so far and I believe you will be too..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Hi,Ok cool I will put up some kind of package of the older view. You know, that view really rocks. Having flown a real 757 simulator, I know what it looks like to sit there. The older view is as close as you can get with a computer monitor... :)later,Tero
