November 26, 200322 yr OK, Adam, if this is just about sending a courtesy heads-up message, I agree of course. The Realair delivery (I do have a copy of their SF260) consisted of an email, containing a download URL and personalized passwords, one for downloading and one for unlocking the file. Since this system was mentioned in the original post, I was referring to such an elaborate system. This would no doubt be much more difficult to implement than a mass mailout. Adding this kind of complexity at a late stage would be asking for trouble. Look at the mess PSS are in, trying to roll all their updates into one. Different situation of course, but it's all about complexity.Sorry if I confused the original issue. I've got nothing against a mass mailout as such of course-that in itself is a very good idea.(yet I've got a feeling it still won't stop the 'when' posts-there's only one thing that will stop those-and after that, they'll be back to '800/900/BJ...when?' ;-) ) It's all up to PMDG themselves anyway, and they probably have more experience with this sort of thing (both good and bad) than most of us.Best,Martijn
November 26, 200322 yr hi,When they released SU1 they just had everyone download it off their website and there were no problems, I don't see a problem with doing the same with SU2.Andrew
November 27, 200322 yr Author Thanks for all your replies. Now can someone who WORKS for PMDG answer my question?Simple question requiring a simple answer.RegardsAdam Moore
November 28, 200322 yr Hi,This is my first post in the forum, but after reading this I am dissapointed that so many flight sim enthusiasts like myself will argue over such a stupid thing which doesnt really matter! I am only 15 and have a brother who is ten, im sure he would even think your silly for doing this! The best way to distribute in my opinion would be to have a few different servers avaliable on the PMDG website, and then for those of us who like lifes luxuries, to send out courtesy e-mails but stagger them so the servers do not get crammed.Although it would be interesting to see what a member of the development group have to say. Thanks
November 28, 200322 yr Hmmm...and even in your infinte wisdom you still bring this topic back from the dead.Mikkel
