November 29, 200322 yr Author I see now Floyd, thanks. Very minor issue for now, if there is time and the other things *maybe* but don't hold your breath ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith

November 29, 200322 yr Very Nice Pics, lookin foreward to the Release!!!!About the Groundspeed, don't forget we're at nearly 1000ft. That will account for the 4 knots speed difference in the tailwind vs groundspeed calculation. (Ias---Tas)Boeing 737-700 Autoland LIMITS:Tailwind 10 knotsCrosswind 20 knotsHeadwind 25 knotsRegards, Sjaako

November 29, 200322 yr Commercial Member Just took a short flight from KSEA-KPDX and it went very well aside from ActiveSky giving me a 57kt crosswind on landing!! The amazing thing, as you will see, is that the NG's autopilot actually HANDLED it and put me on the runway safely!Ok here we are sitting on runway 34R at KSEA:http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_000.jpgWe have liftoff!http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_003.jpgOne of the things I absolutely love about the update are the new wingviews that accompany the 2D only versions of the plane - they're a very cool bonus for those of us who don't quite have the system horsepower to run the full blown VC/cabin models. With this it feels like you're sitting in first class!http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_005.jpgHere's another wing shot turning to the south, downtown Seattle and Puget Sound are in the background...http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_006.jpgOk, here's a panel shot - I've just executed a direct to the HELNS fix - notice the correct behavior of the magenta line on the ND - as soon as I pressed exec, it redrew the line from that point and there is no longer any line going back to the airport etc... Notice too the runway symbol is now the correct double white bars - just one of hundreds of small fixes like this!http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_007.jpgAnother beautiful wing view - level at 15000 looking back at Mt. Rainer.http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_010.jpgI've already begun my descent and here I'm simulating ATC ordering me direct to the BUXOM final approach fix rather than having to fly the whole STAR to the Battleground VOR. Notice again the correct behavior of the magenta line - no wierd lines going back to the airport, turns are predicted, etc...http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_011.jpgWe've captured the localizer and glideslope. (yeah too early on the GS, I know ;) ) This is where it got interesting - look at the wind vector on the ND! ActiveSky failed to transition the winds down to surface level and I got winds aloft - a 57kt cross-tailwind! NOw watch as the NG doesn't even lose a step in keeping me aligned with the runway...http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_012.jpgFlaps 30, landing configurationhttp://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_013.jpgStill have the 57kt crosswind and yet it's tracking perfectly!http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_014.jpgYou don't see this everyday! Don't think I'd want to attempt this in the real plane... ;)http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_015.jpgJust about to land - I disengaged the AP and kicked the rudder hard at the flare and managed to stay on the runway.http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_016.jpgPlease remain in your seats... ;)http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_017.jpgOne more shot of the panel after landing - notice the missed approach procedure, which is correctly in blue after the end of the route!http://www.progressivetranscriptions.com/ng/grab_019.jpgHope you all enjoy seeing these shots - I might post some more later this weekend! You're all gonna love this update, I'm sure of it!Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
November 29, 200322 yr Peter Cook here doesn't speak for little of us, never mind all of us, Keep your comments like that to yourself. I've never found this company to be rude, as you stated, and I appreciate them wanting to GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!Looking forward to SU2 Greatly! But I can wait a little longer to get it right.Paul.
November 29, 200322 yr Author Looks as if you can come up for air! Will post a shot later ...hehehe[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 29, 200322 yr Commercial Member Actually, that would happen if you had a 57kt headwind :-)In this scenario, if the wind would suddenly stop blowing, you'd get a nice balloon effect and you'd overspeed your flap placard speed...Anyway, still not a very good idea flying into with a tailwind like this. Extremely high groundspeed and thus a rather high sink rate...Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com

November 30, 200322 yr One minor thing:Now you've added the gear handle and flap indicator in the zoom panel the MFDs look a bit squashed. Perhaps they could be slightly reduced in height to maintain the aspect ratio? If you don't change it i'll probably just do it myself though. Thanks, Mark
November 30, 200322 yr Author I'll say it again, those gauges have not been touched from their original aspect ratio, look at the zoom panel you have, the gear handle is exactly the same except moved down to allow the flaps gauge above, that's it.
