Hey Word Not Allowed! How are you? It was you the one that was holding with me! hehe... I was up there at KTP for like a 30 minutes at least. Nice to recognize you here in the boards. There was a BAW (You) and another aircraft, EL320 if I'm not mistaken...Bruno Francescoli.

Heya!!Nice nice, good to see you too hehe...EL320 I can remember also, flying around :)I hope something like this gets organised again!

Bruno et alLooks like you had a terrific flight there. Wish I could have joined. Let's try to make this a periodic event ok? I know the Swedish staff would love some traffic in the area and they are good.Cheers,

Well after 3 connections over 30 minutes to see if comms had imporved and extra help for LOWW_TWR I gave up.My first attempt was from about 1845 until about 1915 and comms was really poor with almost everybody trying to talk at once, I really felt for TWR controller.BTW Did anyone notice TWR was STU rating!I heard TWR ask folk to contact GND but there appeared to be no GND.Monitoring ServInfo I noticed LOWW_GND so lept onto SB again only to find no GND listed in the ATC directory and TWR still swampped with traffic. Same thing by 1945 so I gave up.Glad you all had a good flight and a round of applause for the STU on LOWW_TWR, and I guess a round or two of stiff drinks for him :-), I thought he coped extremely well.

Bruno-I wish I could share the sentiment.I had a GREAT time as well, with the EXCEPTION of the Zurich Center controller. I would have been prepared to forgive his ineptitude (he had a CTL rating!!! he should have known better!!!) if it wasn't for his totally ridiculous attitude. He was constantly complaining about "too much traffic" and "all 100,000 pilots all talking at once", but never ONE MINUTE would he take the time required to invoke assistance from a supervisor or at least another controller. Why is it, for example, possible for Munich Center (an INStructor rating) to be so professional and all-around great, but when the same traffic exited Munich airspace, it all suddenly became "oh, why do all these pilots come here".Some people should NOT be controlling if they don't like the sport. I've controlled in the (VERY BUSY) Greek airspace before, during fly-ins, and sometimes I had to handle at LEAST 40 aircraft - he had 10 and he was overloaded.I am really surprised the Swiss vACC gave him the task... it really spoiled the fun.Other than that, it was a GREAT ALL AROUND EVENT and we're very thankful (as PMDG) that you were all able to participate with a PMDG aircraft! (There will be MORE COMING SOON!).Thanks again,

I'll "third" to to LOWW_V_TWR. He really handled the situation well...Although felt a bit left out since he was pointing me 3 times to the non-existing GND, "who was coming immediately". But well, on the end, like after 10-15 minutes, GND joined in, gave me my clearence and I was off...Also about Swiss ATC...Only thing that I did not understand was also why he was overloaded, I checked the FSNav, and I could not see so many a/c that he was referring to. So far I know, spacing can be up to 5 miles or so on landing (please correct me if i'm wrong!), so you are pretty much able to land all those a/c that were in the air and were holding with me at the holding point at the same time without holding and without making any mess.Better luck next time.

Hi KostaThanks for sharing the beautiful screenshots. I struggled hard yesterday evening to learn how to get connected to AVSIM and fly online beeing able to join this great event reading lots off different guides etc and finally managed. Hadn't time though to get the AVC working, so I was stuck with text-only communication. I used SBRelay->HostSB.dll->Squawkbox but after looking at your screenshots I noticed 'Microsoft Flight Simulator Chat' and also you don't seem to have the HostSB window running at all? How do you setup your online environment and where can I get that MSFS Chat which looks far more user-friendly than the 'HostSB' chat client I used? Had a HARD time trying to handle my a/c while at the same time trying to manage that chat window minimizing/restoring it all the time with no scroll function available as far as I could tell forcing you to read all instructions you were given before they dissapeared...:-)Thanks in advance,

Yes i agree all the ATC-twr and app etc were great but that CTR guy was way over dramatic..he has a high rating and should have known better..he should have been able to handle that amount of traffic or at least give it a go!, but anyway the rest was great and it was fun to hold!PS..Who was the guy who told the controller to shut up saying there was too much traffic and get on with the job?..nice one i was thinking of doing the same!

Hi Richard,First of all, I'm not using HostSB.dll. I try to have as little as possible applications in my FS, since more you have, more they tend to slow down your flight :)First, I load the SBRelay and connect it. Then I open FS2004 (I take that you're also using FS2004) and multiplayer connect it to the SBRelay (search for 127.0.0.1 and sbrelay will come up). Then load up Squawkbox Host, and immediately after that SB Main application, which opens the window inside the Host. Note: a/c is already positioned at this point at the certain airport. And then connect the SB to the network. If AVC is installed, not much setting up is needed, just write your data (VATSIM login and Callsign) and when you connect to VATSIM in the SB and change ATCs, AVC will change accordingly (you have to have checked "communicate with Roger Wilco" in the SB options).Concerning the chat, when you then switch to the FS2004 window, simply press Enter to enter chat. Don't forget, every time you want to type something, you *have* to press enter. Meaning, after each message sending (with enter), window changes to FS2004 window, and if you start typing you will trigger different FS2004 functions...happens to me a lot! :)

>Nice to recognize you here in the boards. There was a BAW>(You) and another aircraft, EL320 if I'm not mistaken...This EL320, that was me. It's funny to see all those screen shots with your callsign on them. The flight was great. The time was set to one hour before dusk in order to arrive at LSZH at dusk. But I had to wait so long for the clearance at LOWW, and then 15 or 20 more minutes in the hold at KPT, that the dark night caught me before long before I landed. It's a wierd feeling to be left turning up there without knowing if CTR has forgotten you or what.Poor controllers. Yesterday was not the day to pass the exam :-)Eric L.

LMAO!Good one,I eventually ended up diverting to EDDM. Munich Center was excellent, he really knew his stuff and a nice guy to boot!John (Once known as Macs)http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer

>Only thing that I did not understand>was also why he was overloaded, I checked the FSNav, and I>could not see so many a/c that he was referring to. Thats simply because you have a maximum of 14 multiplayeraircraft diplayed (16 minus FSNav- and SB connection) in a maximum range of 40nm (FS2004 even less range)So if there are 40 aircraft you just see 14 of them (the first 14 that got into your range) - so even if there is an aircraft 3nm behind you at the same flightlevel you might not see it.So the only one who has the complete picture of the situation is the controller. And to some pilots: I know the FMC provides great functionality but its "criminal" to fly only with FMC, without charts and any idea of the approach-, holding, missed-approach-procedures and so on. You should be able to take control in any phase of flight just with you nav-radios and your charts and you should be well prepared. And there have been more than just a couple of pilots acting very unprofessional. The more traffic there is the more essential whis will be. Im pretty shure we would have seen many confused pilots if they have been given the following clearance "cleared for the NEGRA3S arrival. After SAFFA expect strd VORDME approach RWY28" instead of vectoring to the ILS14 (VORDME28 is an often used procedure on weekend evenings (see noise abatement charts)). You are the one who is responsible for you aircraft and what you can/will do with it. You cant rely just on your computers and ATC. You should evaluate everything you do (if advised by atc or not).Anyway I think a slot system like used for real-op-nights is the only way which can make huge events fun for everyone as this unrealistic popup of dozends of pilots which want to get in the air at the same second is designed to make problems like experienced yesterday.
