February 15, 200422 yr I'm looking to purchase this plane. It looks beautiful. I just can't figure out how fast she goes. What is her maximum speed in knots? Thanks,Alex
February 15, 200422 yr I think she cruises about Mach 0.48 if memory serves me right, I have managed to rip the wings off while not paying attention. At high altitude (>FL20) she can reach that speed fairly quick with 100% torque@1500 RPM. which I found out the hard way.My only complaint is that the propeller blades when up to full speed are flat and paper thin. This is how props always were before Fs2004. In FS 2004 the Microsoft team changed that by making the blades two cones back-to-back and therefore giving the props dimension. Although I am by no means an aircraft designer, this does not seem that advanced and I wish PMDG had done this in their aircraft. At the very least, its something to think about for version 1.1.-Brass
February 15, 200422 yr Brass,I had the same problem with the autopilot until I discovered the "bug" on the altimeter. It was set slightly below level. There's a knob to adjust it on the altimeter. Once I set it to level, the plane maintains altitude just fine.Jim
