From the first reports of this additon to the PMDG 600/700, it has been stated that the 800/900 series would be an add-on to the existing program. And thus far PMDG (maybe I am missing this somewhere) has not released a price for the 800/900 add-on. What I do know is the AC produced by PMDG are state of the art and perform superbly. The 737 and 1900 are great examples of what can be created for today's FS community. On price, heck you may be right on your estimate and if that is the case then its a good deal for us. I have too many add-ons that almost work right and still some that are filled with bugs. My hat is off to PMDG and all I can say is if you want an amazing series of 737's for FS this is the place to get it.Cheers!!Greg GemelliAmerican Airlines Virtual

Darryl, I don't think anything is set in stone for the 800-900 yet, so best not to speculate about prices etc. What Tom, Dick or Harry does in the flight sim community does not mean PMDG will follow or should follow although the original price for the 700 series was made very competitive with the current going rates and frankly was worth much more IMO. The most important thing here is that we have a choice, to buy or not to buy, PMDG or any other developer owe us nothing and really the time spent developing certain projects is never paid back by sales. As most know, the add-on market is a *tiny* fraction of the flight simulator market share. I for one say support the developers who in turn feel the time is worth the effort and we all win in the end ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg

So let's seeThe 600/700 base package is 40 bucks, add maybe 20 more for the 800/900, divided by four (since we get for airplanes) is $15 per plane.I consider that a very sweet deal, since my Flight 1 Meridian cost $30. So I only have to pay half of that for an absolutely extraordinary airplane. As others have stated, some companies ask that much for a single gauge and that I consider too much. And no offense meant, the 737NG is not exactly aimed at the average simmer, that's what the PMDG Express line is meant for. Most of those "average" simmers would probably consider it a amjor drag to familiarize themselves with all the systems in the 737NG, particularly the FMC, which will once again be more powerful in the upcoming upgrade.Obviously everyone has to make his/her own decision whether the money for the 737NG series is well spent, I have already made that decision for me and will happily pay for the upgrade and for the upcoming 747-400, plus I am still hoping (hint, hint) for a BBJ addon for the 737NG.Despite the high initial learning curve I am totally hooked on PMDG's jets and the only planes I presently fly in FS are the PMDG NG and the Filght 1 Meridian.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg

DARRYL writes>>This seems unfair, pay $39.95 for B737-600/700(unwanted) plus another $20-30 or more?? for the product I have been waiting for. This is a first in the flight simulator community!800/900 was an add-on to the 737NG base package! DARRYL writes>>Still cosider the cost of buying both the 737-600/700 and 737-800/900 too high for the mainstream flightsimmer, does PSS require you to buy their Airbus A340 in order to purchase their A330 (same difference).<

No - but PSS requires you to have your hand in your pocket every time you want a new livery.PMDG liveries are free.Anyway - if you don't like it you don't have to buy - all you do is miss out.Andy b

Hi folksPlease don't complain about the PMDG 737NG price at all! What you get is definitely worth the money. Flight dynamics are excellent, bugs are eliminated, liveries are for free and the support is what I'll call support. Comparing with PSS: price for the base pack is the same but you've to pay extra for liveries and what you get is a addon full of bugs....All my PSS planes are in the hangar at the moment. It's much more fun to operate the PMDG 737NG ;-) .BTW: Some modifications in the Aircraft.cfg will give you the BBJ already :9 . The panel will accept all the modified weights and fuel amounts! Thanks to all of the PMDG team for the great work!Best regardsBruno(HB-IIP, LSZH)

Ok, I'm going to defend them and no I don't work for them.I think it's a little unfair of people in here to be slamming PSS's products in a forum where they most likely don't go to. My very first add on for flight sim 2000 was the PSS 747-400 and as far as I'm concerned, that set the new benchmark for add ons. Then I bought the 777-200. Again, I was amazed. I'm not going to brag about PSS products in a PMDG forum as I am a very happy owner of both companies products. I don't think PSS deserves the bad feedback they are getting though. If there is a problem with the aircraft you bought, you simply email them and they will refund your money, no questions asked. Check their user edits section. Free liveries. Honestly, that is what sales are about. If you like it, buy it, if not, don't buy it. If you bought it and don't like it, get a refund. Please guys, this is a PMDG discussion forum, not a PSS one.Goran

Goran (pretpostavljam da znas i Hrvatski),It is not as simple as you put it and as black and white.Although, I do not dispute what you just said, but their support sucks pretty much. Those two are not apples and oranges. They have different sales plan, that's ok so far I'm concerned, but hey... I posted lately like 3-4 support questions and got simply 0 answers!! Even simple answers that all of PSS guys could answer with yes or no. Would that happen in the PMDG forum? I don't think so...I find A320 to be an excellent product, few little bugs, nothing huge, flyable and with pretty much realism. Can't compare it with 737NG.And to finish up at all my end of discussion here, I fly all of PSS and PMDG products and enjoy them all equally.Word Not Allowed

Znam hrvatski, jos kakoI know where you are coming from with their support forum but they have mentioned a few months ago, maybe even more than 6 months ago, that their forum is now locked because they were wasting a lot of time answering questions that have already been answered. I have posted a few things over the months and I have not seen them but after doing a search for the topic, I find it has already been answered. Even PMDG don't reply to a lot of posts in this forum. Whenever I truly get stuck with something, I email John Helsby at PSS Support and he gets back to me within 24 hours 99% of the time. What can I say, company structure is a fascinating thing.Goran

Hello guys,I would like the discussion on PSS product to end up here.It is simply not the place to talk about PSS, weather it is good or bad, nor your experience with them.I own both, and beta test for PSS, so if you have some thoing to say about PSS, what ever it is, please go to our forum, post over there and specify that it is me that asked you to do so.I doubt you will ever find in our forum such discussion about PMDG product. Thanks very much for you comprehension and participation.Cpt Cyrille de Lattrewww.corporateaviationservices.comPSS beta testAsus P4P800/P4 2.4 giga/1.5 giga DDR/Ati 9700 pro 128 meg

Of course you won'tPSS's forum is locked, so any posts that PSS doesn't like will simply not appear.I'm very happy to see that PMDG keeps the forum open and only deletes post containing personal insults, but apart from that allowing an open discussion but their product. To me, a locked support forum, like that of PSS lights a few caution lights and rings one or the other alarm bell, because I might just not get a nunbiased opinion or open discussion there. To be honest, that alone is a reason for me to stay away from their products.I'm not saying this is the case at PSS, but a locked forum might hint to many people that there are things which a company doesn't want to hear and/or be heard about their product.Again, this is just my own CHF 0.02, no offense meant to any person or organization. This also by no means to be interpreted as any judgement about the quality of any product.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg

Captains, regarding support for the NG. During this hectic period we're currently in bringing the 800/900 out of alpha into beta testing, our support staff (that's everyone at PMDG ;-)) do not frequent this forum as much as we'd like. If you do have support issues the fastest way to get help is to contact us at [email protected] your question can be answered by any of our outstanding customers, who readily step up to help out, this sometimes can be the fastest means of support. For more technical, nuts and bolts type issues, the best avenue is to send a note to our email address. Thanks for your understanding.

Hello Darry, We, spelled I, am of the opinion that the 737NG is, by far, the greatest aircraft add-on that the FS community has ever had. The package is simple outstanding. I have no qualms if PMDG releases the 800/900 as a separate package even at a cost similar to the 600/700. The PMDG folks have put so much thought into not only the flight dynamics of the aircraft but into every other facet of the aircraft and its use. The layout, thus thought, behind the panels is magnificent. Too bad other vendors do not use a similar method of switching and magnifying their panels and instruments. Can't wait until the 800/900 is released. This is only my opinion of course.Regards
