March 24, 200422 yr Greetings Captains ...Thanks to Peter Dowson, my fuel planner utility is now fully accredited for use with unregistered copies of FSUIPC. This means that if you don't own a registered version of FSUIPC, you can now use the "Read Payload" and "Board Fuel" functions of my planner to automatically scan the passenger and cargo weights from your aircraft, and automatically load your required fuel into the tanks.Grab the latest version here:http://www.metacraft.com/737NGFP/PMDG also offerred to host the program in their download sections on their site, so you should soon be able to find it there as well. Thanks to everyone that made suggestions and helped me test the program. The next update will be to add support for the 800/900 variants when they're released.Cheers!
March 24, 200422 yr Looks really great Ross, looking forward to try it out when I get home! Thanks for developing and sharing,
March 27, 200422 yr I really like this utility, Ross, especially the ability to board the fuel without having to dink around with the fuel menu in FS9.How difficult would it be to add "0 nm" to the distance list for alternates? If I don't need to file an alternate I end up having to subtract the alternate fuel from the min. landing fuel since there is no way to get alternate fuel set to 0. Also, shorter alternate distances would be nice, like 50 and 100nm. Again, if I need to file an alternate that is under 200nm, I will interpolate the necessary fuel and subtract the excess from the min. landing fuel. Mark Kuebeler
March 27, 200422 yr This app is great, thank you very much for the contribution. It would be even better if we could insert exact ranges and cruise altitudes. -Alex P.
March 27, 200422 yr Many thanks for this fuel planner Ross, the 'read payload' and 'board fuel' are really neat.Am I correct in assuming that changes in the new version are only related to FSUIPC accreditation? If so i need not bother downloading as I have a full registered version of FSUIPC.
March 27, 200422 yr Vulcan: yes I think the features are connected to FSUIPC accreditation. If you try pressing those buttons without FS running it gives an error saying it can't connect to FSUIPC. -Alex P.
March 28, 200422 yr Thanks Ross. Can we assume that you will be adding 747 support later this year when the queen is released? Eric
March 29, 200422 yr That's correct Vulcan, nothing new besides that.As for manually entering distances and cruise altitudes, that can't happen unless I get specific formulae for fuel consumption in climb/cruise/descent. The way it works now is because that's the data that is available in the PMDG manual for fuel consumption for various distances and cruise altitudes.Although adding 0 as a distance option for the alternate is a good idea. I'll consider adding that in the next version. Although I don't think it's ever a bad idea to carry fuel for an alternate, even if you don't know exactly which airport it is. :)I will probably add support for the 747, if the same fuel consumption tables are present in the manual. Thanks everyone for the feedback and suggestions!
