USA Roads

Featured Replies

Anyone using USA Roads? Probably not as relevent for IFR, just curiuos.Regards

Yes, using it and loving it.

Yes, I just got it a couple of days ago and it adds a great visual to the overall feel. If you are familiar with the area you can identify every road. I also have Northern and Southern California by Megascenery. USA Roads does not overlay it so it does not appear in those areas. It is quite remarkable that it covers the entire 48 states. A great tool for VFR.Terry

Yes I have it and it's great. Like Terry said "If you are familiar with the area you can identify every road."

Yes I have it too, and when making an approach to any city in the US, it really does make the outside view quite awesome. Works just great with the PMDG 737.Bob

Hi, Guy'sThanks for your input on USA roads. The screenshots looked pretty good but did not show roads in my area. I'm going to download it. Fortunetly I have a DSL line that seldom goes down.ThanksRegards

Just a quick question.. I havent really been following the news about USA Roads as I mostly fly in Australia. But does it add new road textures or does it use the textures in the default scenery? I believe the default rds are very unrealistic.. look like dirt tracks, lol.Maybe a screenshot... if not, no worries!

Cheers,
Ryan

If I'm not mistaken, Installing USA Roads, makes the world outside of the lower 48 states roadless, or pretty darn well near roadless. However, they have a build in utility that allows you to disable USA Roads and revert back to default roads in a couple clicks. So if you want USA flying, you can have it, and disable, when your outside the US.

Not quite true, the roads outside of the USA are NOT disabled. There was quite a discussion about this a while back. If you look inot the FS9 Scenery folder only the default USA roads have been disabled when you install USARoadsBob

Then what happened to all my roads in Canada? Sure were a lot more before I installed USA Roads.

I would expect that some of the roads near the US-Canada border are affected, as the textures overlap the border by some distance.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

Nighttime texures are custom too.Cheers,Jimhttp://home.comcast.net/~linuxrh/Legacy_20...A_Roads_-_4.jpg

There's some really good replacement textures you can get too that make the roads blend in with the terrain much more realistically too - I think the defaults are a bit too bright...
