Dear developer team:I bought the queen if the skies a few weeks ago and I beleave that it's a good heavy plane, but when I flew the bird in 2D I noted that the amazing creation doesn't have a 2D side views and it isn't realistic. Many people like me arround the globe have a modest PC (P IV with 512 RAM and 128MB Nvidia video card), and the plane with VC result so heavy hiting the FPS so hard. In order to satisfy a customers like me I suggest that the patch 1.03 include a 2D side views to enjoy the QUEEN OF THE SKIES with no VC too.Thak youJavier LinaresQueen of the skies customer

I also think it would have been nice with photorealistic sideviews when using the 2D panel/cockpit. Especially since you by little chance would click on any buttons or do anything at all when using a side view in 2D panel since you're already busy pressing the buttons needed to take you to the side view...Don't know if it's what Javier meant but there are in fact more than one kind of realism as I see it - one for functionality and one for visual experience. I'm sure most would agree that when it comes to the visual experience it feel alot more realistic to look to the side and actually see a photorealistic copy of what a real captain would instead of a modelled cockpit.

Hi guys,I havent yet purchased the PMDG 747. Although it looks like a mighty fine aircraft, I am disappointed to hear that there arent any 2D cockpit side views included. I am not a fan of virtual cockpits at all, and its always nice to see that payware developers take into consideration the fact that some people are 2D only pilots, and will never venture into the VC at all, no matter how nice it may look. There is an edit available in the file library which adds fixed VC views into the 2D environment, but that certainly isnt as good as proper 2D rendered side views as included in the 737.Can you please consider adding proper 2D cockpit side views in the future? I noticed that the Bill Gabrowski MD11 featured these before it became a PMDG product. I sincerly hope that these views are kept, and not disposed of in favour of VC only views.Regards,Lee Holland.

Hi guys,The 744 does have side views in 2D mode, but you must activate the VC in the options.I never was a fan of the fake picture sideviews in previous products, whats the point of seeing a fake frozen picture which has nothing to do with your actual cockpit settings? Basically very unrealistic. These pictures are taken from the 2D cockpit and show realistic dynamic sideviews of your current aircraft.http://www.veryquiet.co.uk/aaa.jpghttp://www.veryquiet.co.uk/bbb.jpghttp://www.veryquiet.co.uk/ccc.jpgAll the best, pilotinfo.gif

Hi Pete,You're right you have the sideviws included you show here and indeed your VC is very nice modelled but still it's not photorealistic and also it's not as FPS friendly for those with less powerful computers. When looking at the the first picture you attached for instance looking straight to the right the Overhead Panel is the part in that picture that looks most "photorealistic" to me but the rest simply doesn't no matter how good looking the VC is.I've included three pics below, first shows the part of the 'looking to the right'-view that I don't find very photorealistic and then two pics from the first picture where I think the photorealistic feeling is lacking the most. And please don't take this the wrong way, your VC is truely nice looking and the a/c in total is great. Just a matter of personal taste and I like some others in the posts above prefer the photorealistic 2D look over a VC.All the best,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/133957.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/133958.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/133960.jpg

Pete, Armen,I think that you didn't get Javier's point. The screens that you are showing will appear in the 2D cockpit, but only if you have the VC enabled.Javier wants to fly without the VC enabled, and in that case you won't have sideviews.Javier, have a look at the files pmdg747_2dview.zip and pmdg747_2dview_u.zip in the AVSIM library.CheersThomas

Yep Michael, and I wish I could have an a/c with PMDG's level of realism when it comes to functionality and all the working systems onboard etc but also with the presently missing photorealistic 2D views+wing views for people who prefer that over a VC/cabin. Best thing would be two models where you can choose the model you like better just the way it was done with the 737.Like discussed so many times before...2D panel vs VC there will always be one group that prefer VC over 2D panel and the other way around and I wish PMDG would take this into account and make their already award-winning product even more appealing to a broader group of customers.

I know that with VC activated the side views look like the screenshots above, but the VC mode still working behind and still hiting the FPS. I recomend that in NO VC MODE we have the chance to have a 2D photorealistic side views.Javier

I saw these side views but like I said, the VC is still working behind and hiting the FPS's. So many aircraft have the option to set no VC mode and have photorealistic side views, I think that this improve let a customers like me enjoy much more the excellent bird.Best regardsJavier
