Autothrottle problem.

I just had my first unpause event with a breath-taking 8000+ fpm ROC ending in a wingover stall (is that an immelman, or something) then 50 miles of aerobatic twisting and turning as I wrestled it back into the stable VNAV PATH cruise I left. Great Fun! But there on the other hand . . . . the baby's still needin' that scrubbin'. This just won

Couldnt this erratic aircraft behaviour be attributed to significant weather differences between pausing a flight and restarting it?The longer you pause your flight the more likely the weather conditions will vary between the start and end of your paused segment. I couldnt find any issues with pausing the RR pax version with the -F installed, however reseting the weather from certain dynamic weather conditions back to default FS calm weather will throw the speedometer, altimeter, A/T and aircraft into some erratic behaviour..... but that is exactly what you would expect to happen. :)Posting some screenshots when it happens next time will be really helpful.Armen L Cholakian

Good point. So pause might not compleyely stop the entire sim? MSFS keeps klipping along in the background? Could be. It's somethng I'll watch for next time. Thanks

The thing is it didn't happen in the PAX prior to over-installation of the F, I reverted to the original aircraft yesterday and paused for over a hour, unpaused with no issues at all.I have only ever experienced speed issues when unpausing, and that is usually a drop in speed however, this issue is dealt with by the A/T and once target airspeed is reached all is well again. There is a screen shot.Mark.

Tried the pause trick in a Pitts addon I have with weather at building storms (or some such). Was hoping the unpause event would be "like I was launched out of a cannon" . . . then I'd have a real wild ride to recover from. Maybe I would be able to come up with a few new tricks. No joy. Just a completely boring resume. Oh well.

Yeah, Sam,as I said, this is obviously an issue requiring a resolve which I'm sure is being undertaken by PMDG.Just have to wait a little longer for the patch, they can't be faulted for their problem resolution abilities after all.I am just flying the original release until we get the fix.Regards.Mark.747400.jpg

Mark, maybe the fact that FS runs on system time like Sam said, it is still running and trying to catch up. Somewhat like low frame rates when the system finally catches up to the yoke inputs- it causes some crazy behavior. Hope this helps- Joe

Well actually, I think it's a bug too. But these are all ideas that PMDG might look at to help us in the future with the -F.

Hello Ryan,Based on the comments in this thread, the problem resembles very much the one I've had on this thread http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchI know PMDG mentioned that this may not be anything which can be fixed due to the weather engine in FS2004 but my question was not to "fix" it but to "disable" the logic of the authrottle disconnect altogether when there is a sudden "shock" from winds so the plane does not lose control.I was asking if this was possible and noone from PMDG replied. Does that mean a "NO, not possible"? or "NO, it is too complicated and we don't have time right now to look into it"?Can someone from PMDG shed some light onto this?John
