Hi when looking at the paderborn pics i was shocked...there where only "old" people there :( so i really wonder how old you serious simmer like me are...im "only" 21...and if you all work in the airline buiss...i study computer science and only do this for fun.How old are you, and what do you do for a living?

I'm 17, a full time student at college...I've been working for my PPL since I was 14...and I've been simming since I was about 11 or so. Although it's only been in the last couple of years that I've become serious simmer...doing flights for British Airways Virtual! :-kewlIn the future I wan't to become an airline pilot...hopefully flying Airbuses...but we'll just see how that goes! :-)

I am 32 years old and I own a trucking company. I drive a Peterbilt 379. You can find a picture of my truck on my blog (http://www.wilsonhines.com)at the very bottom of the page. I am a very serious simmer. I use FS2crew, FSBuild, Navigraph charts and Sporty's Charts, ASWXR, FS Flight Keeper, RC4, Ult Terr, Gr Env, and tons of airport sceneries. I fly the PMDG 747-400 and the LDS 767-300, but the 744 gets about 95% of my flights. I like the parallels of what a heavy airline pilot and a heavy gross weight (80,000 lbs) truck driver has to work with. Our equipment have many similarities, especially with the information provided through the panels. I like how a pilot and a driver have to fight and manage weight issues. And we both have tons of government regulations to keep up with and comply with. 40, Computer Systems Architect, and part time commercial pilot with about 1100 hours.Been simming since Sublogic Flight Sim, and just found a video I recorded in the 80s of a flight from BOS to MVY in FS4(or earlier?) on my dual-diskette Tandy 1000. I used it to add background music for my class in Film/TV post-production. Simming keeps me from jittering like a heroin addict in withdrawal, since I can't afford to fly in real life as much as I'd like, and I can't give up my high-paying engineering job to fly full-time.

Bob, I just went and Googled Sublogic. Man! how primitive it seems now. Hard to believe that FS started out like that. I seem to vaguely remember that program though. You know, now that I take a closer look at it I don't just vaguely remember it, I played it. Pretty sure that is what lit my fires about flight simming. 57, Maintenance Supervisor, Retired Navy, Been simming since 1988. PMDG 747 QOS my favorite aircraft to fly. Your only "old" when it isn't fun anymore. Ken
