February 10, 200719 yr Hey all! After reaching your altitude and when flying a long-haul (that could sometimes be real boring)and when you set your speed in Fs to 8 times (You do it because it Leif A Mikkelsen **********************
February 11, 200719 yr VNAV remains engaged. It's the throttles that disconnect causing you to stall. When you click on VNAV, you are reconnecting the throttles. This happens sometimes when you open a menu too. And why not fly a long haul flight in real time? It's fun!*:-* NOT! (Yet I still do it anyway.)Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg Ryan Gamurot
February 12, 200719 yr Leffe,Nice screenshots. Where did you get the contrails from? They don't look like default FS trails to me.NeilYPAD http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgNeil Bradley

February 13, 200719 yr last time I did a long haul, it was from JFK to LTBA... one of the most boring flights of all times, my gf thought I was INSANE! to just fly for 10-11 hours... pretty much plane flies itself so I just had it run in the bg and I would check back every few mins but still... man they are fun, but not really lol
February 14, 200719 yr MY logest was KJFK-LIRF And god was it boring during cruise even in the heavies.Kenneth
February 14, 200719 yr Try my longest. PHNL to EGLL. That was a 13 and a half hour flight! Not to mention it was just about pushing the range of the Queen.Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg Ryan Gamurot
February 14, 200719 yr Commercial Member Gents-If you run the sim at 8x, and you open one of the FS menus- the custom fuel system gets knocked 1 cycle off. Since the fuel system simulates the fuel manifold on the 747 (which is a VERY complex beast) this causes the engine consumption mathematical model to get ahead of the fuel manifold supply model for one frame- which causes a momentary flameout. You can avoid this problem entirely if you do one simple thing: Hit the PAUSE button before you open an FS menu.... then unpause when you come back. That will avoid the problem. Unfortunately- this is one of the down sides to having modeled the massive complexity of this airplane's fuel system... Manifold feed, fuel mixing from Tanks 1/4, etc etc... (And here you thought fuel was just a couple of tank definitions....hahaha) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
