i'm looking for a fuel calculator,i want to know how much fuel will be used for the flight,is there anybody know?

As Steve Says:Use the FMS. It's probably about the most accurate way of doing it for now. In the FMS manual, the bottom of page FMS.10.24and onwards, Should get you started.CheersPaul

Using the FMS is NOT fine, some of you miss the point for those of us who like to use FSC or FSB to completely PRE plan our routes.I am no programmer. So I wish someone could whip up a fuel planner akin to what we have for the 744x and the LDS 763.

There are a couple good 744x ones, just not for the 744f and there is a very good one for the lds 763, but the fms works fine. I don't want to buy fsc because I already have fsb, but I rather use other planners, that one just does not seem right, but it prob. works also.

Hi Chris:Like you, i like to pre-plan my route properly. To do that i use Flight Operations Centre from Danur. (www.danur.com) i think. One of the Danur guys used to be a Flight Dispatcher for Swissair on the MD11's and as a result it is currently the only flight planning software that comes close to any form of accuracy with regards PMDG's MD11 fuel burn performance. With the best will in the world; FSB and FSC will NOT allow you to preplan your route correctly, unless you have real world charts available to you. FSB and FSC DO NOT alert you to one-way airways, and they will not necessarily take into Account JAR and FAR Ops. So please dont lecture us about planning a route properly. Likewise, the fuel and weather performance can, at best, be considered 'approximate'. and they will certainly not take into account a number of route options to take advantage of the most favourable winds aloft. In the absence of any hard data in the form of detailed Performance Charts, as has already been dissussed due to Boeings denial of permission to release them, nobody will be creating an accurate fuel planner. The only way at present to accurately calculate fuel, as your original question requested, is to use the FMC.To answer your question a little more precisely howver,A Detailed standalone fuel planner does not exist for the PMDG MD11, in the meantime, most of us find that the FMS interface provides a perfectly acceptable, and very accurate alternative.CheersPaul

So please>dont lecture us>PaulOh I'll lecture you, Paul, and you'll like it too. ;)Seriously, thanx for info and the DP link, I was aware of the app but have not seriously looked at, will re-examine it.EDIT: Om my...FOC is pricey, very pricey...is it "worth it" when compared to FSB or FSC?

>FSB and FSC DO NOT alert you to one-way airways, and they willJust to clarify a bit, FSB will display one-way airways. When you ctrl-leftclick an airway, the pink arrows dictate the direction of travel along that path. Now, how accurate or up-to-date this information is, is definitly open to discussion.

Hi Chris;I stand corrected on the Airways front in FSB. As for the 'priceyness' of the software, yes it is!I do consider it a massive improvement, But the manuals are pants and take a bit of getting your head around, and it is a complicated add on with a steep learning curve. Here is todays FPL for my EGKK/KJFK tripSTART OF COMPANY FLIGHTPLAN BAW2173 08.11.07 EGKKKJFK.001 SEQ002 RLS000 AIRCRAFT B744-RB21-BAW STD 15.30Z ATD ..... Vewry informative, thanx Paul...now I have to decide between FOC or Steel Beasts Pro SE ($125)...dang it...where's the lottery when I need it?

LOL:Hi Phil...I think you're going to have to hehehe. All the BAW's are RB211's so that kind of limits my scope hehehe.CheersPaul

What about the airacs for that FOC :( isnt it like almost nil updates for it ... not what I would call a full planner really.

Monthly AIRACS available. But they dont come cheap as they are exactly the same as realworld airlines use. CheersPaul

So what's the problem exactly with FSB. Granted the FSB version is PW. But for the past 10 flights I have been updating my FSB database to match PMDG. This includes the actual weights at which the FMC commands a step climb, burn biases, fuel policies etc etc.I have now come to a point where after a 10 hour flight, my actual fuel is within 1.000 kilo's of flight plan fuel......always. Many times withing 300 KG. Free AIRACS.....what else do you want.Regards,Xander
