I am stumped. Daryl/Stiffy help with this one? With the Yaw Damper on, everything should be fine, right?:-)

I personaly fly 100% of the time with YAW damper ON. I have yet to experience problems because of this. To tell you the truth, I am not even completly up to speed as to exactly how the yaw damper interacts with the pilot or A/C. I just leave it alone. :)

O.K., I looked it up. I now know what a Yaw Damper is and what it does. From what I read, a Yaw Damper has nothing to due with the AP not catching the commanded VS.

Did you select Vertical Speed hold as your autopilot mode? It won't work if you're in VNAV or FLCH.

Maybe it would help if you posted a screenshot of your panel when this error occurs.

Hello. Ive flown the 767 months ago and this is my first time that this happen to me. I always fly IFR. What I do after take off is activate CMD then VNAV, I dont select LNAV 'cause I fly IFR, the ATC got to tell me what heading I got put. 2 make it more realistic. After take off do I have to select the V/S ?? Im not remember if I selected, and I dont remember If Ive done it in my others flights

"What I do after take off is activate CMD then VNAV" Why would you engage VNAV if you are trying to use V/S?Best Wishes,Randy J. [email protected]" A little learning is a dangerous thing"

Yaw damper. Bah! Clearly he left the oven light on.

Navajo,You clearly need to read up on the flight systems again (you did read them first time around, right?) As Randy points out, you cannot fly using VNAV and V/S; it's one or the other ...

V/S mode is perfectly ok for IFR (but keep an eye on your airspeed. You may stall or overspeed in some circumstances). If you select V/S and then dial in the required value, then the aircraft should obey your command (unless, that is, you are inputting too much or too little V/S). I haven't had any problems with PIC not following the commands, so one of your files may be corrupted or another program is interfering with the proper operation of the sim. Someone suggested that you post a screenshot of the sim (for our evaluation). If this is too difficult for you, I can only suggest that you reinstall PIC and start from the beginning.Cheers.Ian. P.S. Please ignore the unhelpful remarks... I'm sure you know what you are doing and it is correct. Most likely, you are simply having difficulty telling us exactly what you are doing.

Really, using V/S in the 757/767 is not something I do often, most (real) flights, the v/s button is untouched. If you're not using VNAV, you use FL CH after takeoff. Not only does V/S not have speed protection, there are hardly any situations that you want to fly a fixed v/s.Most virtual pilots simply use it because they're used to the crappy unrealistic autopilots in standard FS planes. Most real pilots that use it a lot, use it because they flew the 737 before and FL CH in the 737 can sometimes be overly dramatic in pitch (ie. uncomfortable). Not so in the 757/767.The only time I ever use v/s is when for instance, I have to descend really early due to ATC, so I want to do it as slowly as possible, at 1000fpm. So I set 1000fpm v/s. Because you want to stay high as long as possible. Another instance would be on a non-precision approach, such as a VOR(-DME) or NDB approach. You can do it on VNAV, but V/S is the preferred method with our company.Other than that, no v/s!Iz
