January 18, 200323 yr Boy o' Boy Mike...This looks like it could even surpass the Western Canada PIC Event!!I'll have to get recertified in my PIC sometime over the next week so I have a clue what I am doing when the time comes. Last time we all crossed "The Ditch" I know that I had an amazing time, and I am sure all the others who took part did as well. My only dilemna is - do I join with you for the long haul, or help bring you all home into San Francisco? One contributing factor would that would have leaning towards joining for the long haul would be if "Triple Three Niner" were to be part of it - it's hard to fall asleep when you are laughing for 10 hours straight .Hope to see you all there - and make sure you have your current charts for San Francisco - I would assume you are all going to want the HADLY2 and BSR2 arrivals, the ILS approach plates for 19L, 28L, 28R, and of course the TIPP TOE VISUAL 28L charts handy. All can be found on the Vatsim Oakland website --> http://www.oakartcc.orgIan Elchitz/CYWG
January 18, 200323 yr When we gonna take our trip to Kelowna Ian?Did you get my e-mail wanting the routings for the CVYR to Kelowna route? With the DME and radial information? If not, if you could please e-mail me with such :)Much appreciated. . .Josh

All can be found on the Vatsim >Oakland website --> http://www.oakartcc.org >>Ian Elchitz/CYWG I'm wondering, do they actually route via BSR off the CEPAC routes to SFO? All the stored routes to SFO in the flight planning system (real) I use are via CINNY or ALCOA direct. Also all the filed ATC flight plans I've seem for Hawaii to SFO have been routed via CINNY DCT. I assume they are further routed to OSI or BRINY by looking at the flight tracks at www.flyqueitsfo.com. Load tracks for around 8:30 PM for any day and see what I mean. Cheers,Graham
January 19, 200323 yr I suppose you were referring to www.flyquietsfo.comPending on real world duties, I hope to join in - even at the ungodly hour (Midnight local time) :-hah
January 19, 200323 yr Glad you will try and join us. I will make it up to you late in February when we set up PIC on VATSIM - To Athens and on to Paris. It will run from around 1500Z to 2100Z on a Saturday or Sunday. That all depends on which we can get the best ATC coverage for.
January 19, 200323 yr >Good news from Ernie Alston regarding FSBuild. The next build I get >on the beta project will be able to take data from FSMETEO, plug >current data in from anywhere in the world, build the plan and use >valid winds aloft to calculate time and burn. A bit off topic but, will FS Build 2 support Activesky wxre? This is fast becoming a more feature rich program than FS Meteo. Thanks. Eric
January 19, 200323 yr >A bit off topic but, will FS Build 2 support Activesky wxre? This >is fast becoming a more feature rich program than FS Meteo. Thanks.Yes.WRT to winds aloft outside the US Fsbuild-2 does what ActiveSkyWxRe is doing by creating simulated winds by selecting the closest US station available and using that winds aloft data.Regards.Ernie.
January 19, 200323 yr AS I keep pulling up the winds aloft data I am amazed how much this changes from day to day. The Sydney-San Francisco flight has varied by almost a full hour over the last week. As promised earlier, I will put up a full revised zip file of flight plan logs on the day of the flight.
January 20, 200323 yr Mike, How did you get the winds data to updat in FSBuild2?? Billhttp://www.charityflight.com/images/bvcavitar.jpg
January 20, 200323 yr In preperation for Friday's flight has anyone visited Sydney with the Sydney scenery from www.aussim.com/sfsc/ ?I would be interested in the frame rates others are getting because I am down to single figures without any weather, AI or MP a/c - not good for vatsim flying.I tried changing my display settings but there was little imporvement on frame rates.Athlon XP1800512MB PC2100 RAMAll scenery on HD, none cached. Thanks
January 20, 200323 yr Oh well, looks like I'll have to stop short at Honululu, since I'm invited to my stepbrothers & stepsisters birthday party later that afternoon (local time).
January 21, 200323 yr I looked at the web site but have not pulled anything down yet. If your 1800 is grinding, my 900 will die. Perhaps some one from that region could comment what to go with.
January 22, 200323 yr One of the NZ Controllers for the first part of our event, Nick Johnston, has pointed out four charts that were not included in the flight package. Those 4 Charts cover the following:AucklandR/w 23L - SID : OT1 (Westpoint One departure - to NZWN, YSSY) - SID : CLARK3 (Clark Three departure - to NZWN) WellingtonR/w 16 - SID : PEGSA1 (PEGSA One departure - all jets) - SID : DULEX1, VIPET1 (DULEX/VIPET One departures - non-jet onlyI have zipped them up and you can download them at:http://www.simsource.net/files/MB327/NewZe...Addl_Charts.zipAlso please note:2 Hours Before Launch Time, Updated Flight Plans will be available with current winds aloft data http://www.simsource.net/files/MB327/plans2.zipDO NOT DOWNLOAD NOW, Remember - I will update 1/23/03 at 2100GMTWith that update, the OH VOR will be added back into the NZWN-NZAA route. It was left off the FSBuild flightplan by mistake.
