January 25, 200323 yr SteveExcuse this simple question from a newbie, but what application where you using for the second and third of your pictures. I am familar with ServInfo but yours look as though they came from somewhere else and not ProController.Cheers Mike
January 25, 200323 yr hiya, he's using the multiplayer function in FSNAVIGATORit's really neat, it's like a hyperfast RADAR with 'whole world' coverage :)I'm gonna try to join in the HNL-SFO flight now, just woke up, 11AM.... whoaw... and this is late!! ;)
January 25, 200323 yr Thanks LennyBoy this hobby just gets better. Handn't tried FSNavigator before.Cheers Mike
January 25, 200323 yr Author Hey Mike,Like Lenny said is FSnav 4.5. I have been using FSnav since forever and its pseudo-radar controller screen via its multiplayer functionality is great when you're flying on VATSIM.I try as hard as I can not to use it in flight (for reality's sake), but it is very tempting to press F9 (or have it permanently displayed on one of my side monitors) to just get a quick shot of where everyone one is around you (A poor man's TCAS if you will). Its payware but very well worth it! Get it here: http://www.fsnavigator.com/Now Ernie's new FSBuild 2.0 (still in beta)looks fantastic as well, keep you eye out for this one, as it does a few great things FSnav doesn't (And you can never have too many flight planners or moving maps!) :)Regards,Steve Dra Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
January 25, 200323 yr Glad you were able to join Steve, long time no see man.We are 1 hour to San Francisco now, just checked servinfo and I count 27 Heavies inbound for landing within the next 90 minutes. Several have already parked and shutdown. OCEANIC has been fantastic for this leg.Below are some screen shots I took last night and earlier today.1. NZAA-YSSY Looking back on the way down out of FL400 for FL360 on the initial decent before handoff to Sydney. We had to climb earlier to 400 for traffic spacing and the trails really tell the story as I pass down through the other traffic's cruising levels.2. Sydney just popping into view on my way down.3. Left turn now on the downwind, traffic out the left window4. Landing 34R in Sydney. There was a wind shift while setting up for the approach, the Sydney "director" offered to take me around to 07 as they were beginning to switch everyone around but I opted for the crosswind landing anyway, tropper that I am, and brought her in with the 20 knot crosswind.5. View of the traffic setting up for 07 while taxing at Sydney.6. Holding short of 07 for the inbound traffic.7. Steve Drabek touching down on 07.8. On the climbout for San Francisco while in the turn to the Northeast over NOBAR intersection.
January 25, 200323 yr A couple shots of Servinfo on the last segments of the trip to San Francisco.Yea, I know I have FS98 installed. That is the screen on my laptop where I run Squawkbox, Roger Wilco, FSMeteo, Servinfo, and a few other utilities.
January 25, 200323 yr wooh hoo!!!! I made it into a screen shot!!! My 15 mins of fame!!Damon (AAL666)p.s. so what if I snuck out ahead of everyone? :-)
January 25, 200323 yr Author Yeah Mike, its been way too long...almost forgot how to fly the big girl! :)I've been jetting across the midwest on business, and just got in last night as you guys were 1/2 way to YSSY. I did a Brisbane to YSSY to meet you guys on the arrival and it worked out pretty nice!Did the same thing this morning and did a KLAS to KSFO and timed it to arrive as you "Pond Hoppers" were just coming in! :) I beat you only by a few mins! Here is a few more screens. Sorry I didn't get to snap some shots of your landing, but when I landed there were already 16 others in my multiplayer session, so I never saw you! :(This one is as I'm just approaching the bridge, getting ready to drop gear.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e32ec5f37e68d77.jpgGear down, on short final...slight wind from the right.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e32ec8138b9cc33.jpgJust a FSNav screen showing some of the players. I'm on final to 28R.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e32eccd3a57be70.jpgI promise to return the favor and snap some shots of the next landing I witness by you Mike...your event was just too popular! :)Regards,Steve Dra Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
January 25, 200323 yr Thanks Steve.I did see some screen shots of FSBuild 2.0 and my first thought was where can I download it from. So I will be watching for it.I have just started with Multiplayer mode in the last few days and much of what I have read in this forum starts to make sense now. I positioned myself at Wellington, New Zealand (my home airport) as ZKMAR on Saturday and experienced for the first time a whole bunch of new aircraft that I had never seen before - all marked with callsigns. I must have listened to ATC for over an hour just enjoying it - and probably occupying a gate that someone else would have liked. Flying on my own will just never be the same again, and Fly-ins now make perfect sense to me.A quick question though. When in multiplayer mode, what scenery is used. In my case, for Wellington, I have a very good scenery add-on. But in multiplayer mode, you guys use gates that already have a static aircraft parked. There doesn't seem to be any way of removing the static aircraft and clearly the other players do not see them, so do you all use the default scenery to ensure compatibility across all players - or is there somewhere I must go to get scenery that is compatible with other players?Cheers Mike
January 25, 200323 yr Whew...finally made it to KSFO after almost 21 hours of simming.Mike, thanks for organizing such a great event.

January 25, 200323 yr Had a great time, even though at the end I had to disconnect as my frame rates were 1.0-2.0 approaching KSFO. Needless to say I gotta upgrade.Mike, thanks bunch for organizing the whole thing. Also thanks to all the controllers, and my apologies to KSFO tower, he must of thought I was nuts.Looking forward to the next one.
