January 27, 200323 yr Hey Ian, glad you also liked it...remember the chat we had?I remeber on takeoff turning out we suddenly got a hold of you on our Left side(after a mere 90
January 27, 200323 yr Hi Lenny,Yes I remember you well, though I didn't know you by name then. I think your were SLR24L, and ran parallel to track for spacing.I thought the whole PIC767 FlyIn was excellent with pilots of similar interests and experience of the PIC767, all flying one of two routes.Looking forward to the next event.CheersIan
January 28, 200323 yr yup ian, that was me i remeber having to explain my callsign over and over to the aussie's :)always PM: callsign 'so-bel-air' hehehehhehehwas kinda funny tho :)cheers
January 28, 200323 yr A suggestion is to type your full spoken callsign in the Roger Wilco Box.So even if the Controller doesn't hear you clearly the first time he can generally figure it out by looking on the Roger Wilco list. But if he just sees 'SLR24', and he doesn't know what SLR means, he either has to take a guess on what he 'thought' he heard you say or keep asking you until its clear what to call you.Ex: SLR24 SobelAir 24It helps the Controllers out a lot.Regards.Ernie.
January 29, 200323 yr Lenny,I like to think of myself as pretty good with recognizing an airline's TLD and matching it with some radio telephony - but I must admit I had no idea what SLR24L was, and although I managed to read it back to you the first time - I forgot it afterwards, and for a while to me you were simply "24 Lima".Like Ernie said - for a "different" callsign, try putting "Callsign Sobelair" in your comments. Helps us out a lot.Ian Elchitz CYWG
January 29, 200323 yr "Like Ernie said - for a "different" callsign, try putting "Callsign Sobelair" in your comments. Helps us out a lot."I always do Ian but you guys still insist on addressing me as 'Uniform 121' and not 'Unicorn 121'.I can live with it ;) - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
