June 4, 200322 yr Commercial Member Visual model? VC? No one out there to help you? Well...I would GLADLY like to help you improve this project by making a 767 with a VC. If you need me, please contact me at [email protected] , not using the default mail option of Avsim. Oh..below is a two day work of the Citation nose gear. All it needs is good textures.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/14318.jpgP.S. Sorry for the size, I have not time to resize it, or even install a painting program. 3D designing is eating up my time, but I enjoy it a lot.Yours truly,Tiberiu Brasov
June 5, 200322 yr Wade,As a newbee here it was interesting to read your take on the future of this title. Unfortunately, your message has the death knell written all over it for 767PIC.Not that there is anything wrong with that. As with all creative individuals I'm sure you have some good days and some bad days. And, I'm sure you guys have poured tremendous personal resources into what we all take for granted. But, as indicated by your message it seems as though time is taking you into different directions. . .presumably other than for flight simulation. This won't be the first time that creators have moved on to pass up their previous creative endeavors. However, please consider this forum as evidence that 767PIC has a tremendous and loyal following. Heck, I'm more than sure that there are folks who would probably bend over backwards to help out in keeping this program alive. And, there is so much potential for reinvigorating this title. How about throwing in an airline "career," mode. With upgrades and abilties to fly the "good," routes for captains. Choosing or being paired up with several differenet crewmembers. Earning special wings and pins for flying across the Atlantic. . .the world, doing so many "real," approaches and so on. Throw in some critiques and hints from some real airline types on how they operate the 767. Include some real crew co-ordination with checklists and so on. The list goes on almost forever. Heck, I'm not even going to address how much technology has advanced since this title first came out. I can only imagine what this project would look and sound like if it were produced for today's ATI9800 and Audigy 2. Maybe I'm setting some standards too high? Maybe I'm just dreaming. May I make a suggestion? If you find your desire to continue developement of 767PIC starting to wane, perhaps you and your team could take on the roll of director(s.) Open the source code and organize volunteers who are willing to help with this project. The talent and work of guys doing this just for fun is amazing. I'm sure that with the right direction this talent could be drawn and organized to produce one of the most prolific FS addons of all time.Who knows, with the right direction and organization 767PIC V2 could be the PREMIER software addition for FSCentury. This project could take the on-line FS mod community by storm. If in doubt, just look at what the mod community accomplished with some other titles such as Falcon 4.0!Anyway, just a suggestion. Please don't take offense as I offer this message as a word of encouragement. Heck, I'll just be happy to see a FSCentury 767 PIC update patch. But the potential for so much more will always be there. . .

That would be great if the 767 PIC developers decided to once and for all call it quits(well, that wouldn't be so good ;-)) and open up the source code, but I bet the legalities of doing that are so thick, and unsurmountable. Take Wilco, I bet they would go ape.Who knows, it is a nice thought :)

June 7, 200322 yr I just want to add the following:I am a pilot 1,000 hours logged including CFII, Moving executives for a big company although no Airline experience Yet... I have many friends of mine B-767 Captains much older than me but I have actually sat with them and talked with them about the 767 as If I had flown the Aircraft Before... Some of them stare at me amazed on how much I know about the Boeing 767 WEIGHT LIMITATIONS, SYSTEMS, sTEP cLIMBS, vnav, lNAV, aUTOBRAKES, pRESSURISATION Etc... and this is simply from Flying 767 PIC.. My knowledge on jet Aircraft come mainly from 767 PIC it is so real and so well done that is simply amazing... My big dream to make a Home made cockpit based only on 767 PIC, those are my hopes on V2 to be able to get readings via FSUIPC for Overhead panel lights, Led
June 7, 200322 yr I've been seeing a lot of questions lately about the future of PIC, so I thought I'd give you an update. >> Thanks for writing this message Wade.First of all there hasn't been any news because there hasn't been anything new to say>> Then I will hope the
August 6, 200322 yr Hi all, just thought I'd bring this topic back up for the benefit of those who are unfamiliar with the forum's search function :).Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
August 6, 200322 yr The lack of use of the search feature seems to be a common problem. This one should be anchored to the top IMHO
