November 27, 200322 yr Richard has just released the latest Navdata update on his website. He has also announced that this will be the last cycle he releases. We should all offer thanks to Richard for the time and effort that he has put into supplying Free Navdata updates to us all.Thank You Richard - Your service to the FS community was immeasureable.visit Richard's site at www.navdata.at
November 27, 200322 yr It's such a shame that the inconsiderate few ruin it for the silent but very grateful majority. First we lost Prabal Ghosh, and now Richard Stefan. I've always been very happy with Richard's data as it enhances the simulation a great deal! His data sets almost always match the real computer flight plans I'm able to generate. Whenever I wrote Richard about adding a waypoint or some other issue, I always received a prompt reply. He provided such great support even though he does this in his spare time and for free!So Richard, countless thanks for the years of a great service and providing us with a chance to make our simulation even more immersive! :-)Sincerely,Graham B
November 27, 200322 yr Richard,I'm one of your silent fans, and I always used your Airac files and enjoy it using them.I do not know what happend to make a discision you made, but I think I understand. The problem with the human-ras is that history alway repeats it self, and we are so stupid to make the same misstake time over time again. Why do we not learn from our misstakes???? You, Eric Ernst, Probal, and other good people of freeware makers, thanks a lot for your quality time and for your next projects, ask a lot of money for it. This is the price we are going to pay in the future because of some stupid people out there.(sorry for my writing misstakes) I'm disapointed in some humans again.Cees van Diest EHAM
November 27, 200322 yr Commercial Member Sad.Thank you Richard. Your work is appreciated and used by the vast majority of fs-users.Sorry to read about the trials of maintaining and dealing with the site, the data, and the emails. You are a great guy Richard. Don't let the barstads get you down. Thanks again.Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
November 27, 200322 yr I can't belive there are always people out there who critisize freeware. Especially when somebody like like Richard puts so much energy into it. Now without the cycles a lot of realism disappears from PIC. It's a shame that good things are always ruined by a small group of idiots.Thank you Richard, you're the greatest!Chris Koop

November 28, 200322 yr I already sent Richard a supportive email, and I wish everyone on this forum would do the same. Mail him at: [email protected] don't want to see him go because of a couple of idiots who live in a f*cking pipe!Tero PPL(A)
November 28, 200322 yr All, I echo your sentiments precisely. I have just had an email from Richard.I would like to add this to your post if I may.Apart from your description of the persons concerned I would like to add the followingselfish, unthinking, uncaring, impatient, selfcentered, moronic, childishand thats just for starters. The persons concerned know who they are (note I do not use the word people?) and because of the abrasive and contemptable actions of a few , the whole sim community has been deprived of an excellent FREE - yes you cretinous morons - FREE service provided by a guy who tried his best for a hobby he loves. Is there one of your despicable number with the guts or knowhow to replace Richards service? I doubt it very much because you are all probably too busy whinging about some other FREE service which doesnt appear right on time to suit your immature little egos or minds! It would do the whole sim community a great service if Richard published the names of his detractors. If I could call you all bast*rds in this forum then I would..but I cant, so I wont.Rob GrantBrisbaneAustraliaYMA002 - Compass Airlines Australia - a new direction! November 28, 200322 yr Richard,Thanks for your time, energy and commitment to putting the Navdata out always on-time. Not too mention all the support you've given everyone in the flight simming community. You will be missed. If there is anything we can do to convince you to continue, just name it. I would be willing to pay a fee for the Navdata service, if that helps?!Best of luck, perhaps we'll see you again??!Regards,BrianKPHX
November 28, 200322 yr Many, many thanks Richard. It is a true shame that some users failed to appreciate that all of the effort to produce and maintain this immensely valuable resource was without reward, and treat it appropriately.Be assured that your considerable efforts HAVE been thoroughly appreciated by the large, if silent majority within the FS community. I wish you all the very best for the future.Bruce.
November 28, 200322 yr Such a shame !I'm always amazed at how stupid and disrespectful some people can be of the work and talent of others. I'm in awe at the fact that Richard even found time to pursue such updates with a full time job and family. Geez, I'm happy when I can do a circuit once every 2 days...This just so p*sses me off to read once more that a few idiots have done it again and spoiled it for the rest us :-grr . Hmmmm, sounds frustratingly familiar ! A sense of "d
November 29, 200322 yr Richard,VATSIM has posted a message on our home page about this being your last cycle. We hate to see you pull out because we have all benefited from your data. If you consider trying it again, please consider quarterly (even bi-annual) releases to cut down on your workload? Also, don't hesitate to ask for web design help. I am sure there are many who would be able to lend you a hand. Thanks for the excellent service,
