Stephen, when you say "state of the anti-ice switches", what exactly do you mean? Here is how ours is programmed. Lets say for example, I rotate the left air conditioning rotary to the "OFF" position. That automatically shuts down the left A/C duct in our sim, which kills the A/C sound wav associated with that switch. It also turns on the left "Pack Off" annuciation as well. Which in turn, signals an advisory on the EICAS display. Reversing the switch position will turn the "Pack Off" light off and re-start the A/C on the left side. We use this procedure during engine start. If its not followed precisely, we cannot start that perticular engine. We do not use PIC in our sim. There is no reason for us to use it since Epic can do it for us. It sometimes gets into some serious coding, but pretty much anything can be done by having Epic check that state of switch and direct it to take an action based upon its state. A person wishing to do this should familiarize themselves with Peter Dowson's Epicinfo program which allows you to extract just about any flight perimeter available to MSFS. When PIC2 becomes available, I believe in speaking with Wade that you be able to accomplish the same thing without using Epicinfo. During our conversation in Reading, Penn., he indicated he was going open his code to allow for cockpit builders to extract the same information we get from using Epicinfo.Mike

( That's why I am very impressed by your work, in Dutch : "petje af" , ;-) ) But what if a programmed failure occurs in the part of the PIC767 panel you described above? I guess you're out of sync then..Other examples of state variables are: the Execute-led of the FMC, the duct pressure, the state of the fuel switches, electrical switches, hydraulic switches, yaw dampers, man/auto switch, EFIS control knobs (mode and range), what have you...>in Reading, Penn., he indicated he was going open his code to>allow for cockpit builders to extract the same information we>get from using Epicinfo. That's what we understood the SDK would be.That would be really great!Regards,Nicowww.nicokaan.nlfc.php?vatsim=814584&indicator=OD1&a=pic767.jpg

You know, guys.I must confess something :).I have used computers around 18 years, and waited for the release of many different SW, games, programs etc. etc. None of them have given me the same entusiastic feelings of expecting something great than PICv2 now does. I guess it's something that finally would make _the difference_ in flying with PC and eventually in building the big sim.PICv1 was a jump start to something entirely new, entirely immersive. It still is. However, now that the V2 is coming, I can't help this feeling.Tero :-sun1

Mike,Nico already gave a reaction along what I was going to say: you are designing a whole system on its own. That's above what I want to do. My goal is to keep it to PIC. And yes, the SDK will hopefully resolve all our answers. In the mean tome there's plenty enough to do on the input side, so I'm not sitting idle (as a matter of fact, I am at the moment, having a short holiday in France).Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg

Tero,Olen yllattynyt siita, etta joku SUOMALAINEN ilmaisee itseaan noin tunteikkaasti. Ilmeisesti kevatta ilmassa...Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg

Yes I too am anxiously awaiting the new SDK as it hopefully will make life a whole lot easier........... :)Mike

Hi Tero,You got it right. It is a bit mindboggling. Here I am as a Dutchman in France with a Finnish woman living in Norway. Anyhow, she had to laugh at your language, because it was sympathetic!Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg
