March 7, 200422 yr Hi!I figured we haven't had this kind of thread here before (if we have, it was a long time ago). So, everyone please post a picture of your "cockpit".I'll start with mine. Note that the throttles are loaned from a friend (Jari Mikkil PPL(A)
March 7, 200422 yr Tero, nice setup you have there - couple of suggestions for you.Take your 2 large monitors & have them mounted side by side on the desk that is right in front of you. Then have the panel split across these 2 monitors to make the gauges nearly real size. Then use one of your smaller monitors for the outside view.
March 7, 200422 yr Tero,Good idea!I'm sort of halfway building a 767 cockpit. Realism is not my primary goal, but it should look somehow like a 767.top left = outside viewbottom two left = panel (partly stretched over the two monitors)pedestal = tv screen acting as FMC monitor (it works, including the keys)top right and bottom right = second computer, communication, SB, and weatheroverhead panel not yet working, except for one LCD screen (fuel quantity)Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/66125.jpg
March 7, 200422 yr Hi TeroHere's my "cockpit", for more information visit the flightsim page at my website.CheersNicowww.nicokaan.nlhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/66129.jpg
March 9, 200422 yr Well I would love to post pics of my cockpit but still a lot of parts to gather yet although I will soon amazing work guys!! Keep it up.Roberto
March 9, 200422 yr Tero,I have been looking at your setup again. Did you ever consider placing the monitor that is now to the right of the monitor with the ouside view on top of this monitor (in a sort of construction)? The monitor to the left could then be moved to the right (where the intruments belong). Before building my homecockpit I had a monitor with the overhead panel on top of the ouside view.Well, just an idea.Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg
March 9, 200422 yr Hi Tero,Nice to have a look in a different "kitchen"!Another example from Holland!Regards,Jeroen op den Akkerhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/66460.jpg
March 9, 200422 yr Commercial Member My partner just looked this thread over (as I'm trying to convince her that our office is rather boring with just two monitors, a yoke and pedals) - she commented: "Are any of these guys married?" To which I answered, "Yes, they are: to really incredible women!"I'd post a shot of my computer in flight deck mode, but, I think you all know what computers look like. ;)Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
March 10, 200422 yr Daryl, I though your flight deck was installed in your Voyager.Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member >Daryl, I though your flight deck was installed in your>Voyager.>>Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)Yes, well, unfortunately our one year old has seriously compromised the effectiveness of the PIC/Voyager merge.Seems the baby doesn't like 0 to VR in 4.2 seconds... have to wait until her neck is a little stronger I guess.Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
