No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

>is it a 767-300 or a -300ER?Interesting question.... but what's the difference between the two? Can the average person identify them? (or for that matter, can the "experts").Thanks for any insight.Cheers.Ian.

Well, the ER is just extended range. People want the ER because more operators use them than the vanilla -300.

80000 lb center tank asnwers that question...

George Cloony as the pilot :-hmmm

LDS teamI'd jut like to say tanks on behalf of the portion of the sim community that takes this thing seriously.I love it when ppl come to my house to use my sim to prove to me that flying is really simple..."just turn on the autopilot and let it take u to where u want to go". I always give them the 767 to have some fun with them. When they try without luck to fly, I show them how complex this thing really is (of course i throw in a few failures to show off:)Thanks guys...we ALL appreciate your work

Hey Guys,Nice job done ! But unfortunately I found another problem:Page 24,

Thanks, Amedee.We'll let Eric know.Cheers.Ian R>

>80000 lb center tank asnwers that question...That is the size of the LDS1 Aux (Center) Tank.BTW, what is the size of a non-300ER Aux Tank...or doesn't it have one? (I only have information on -200ER's and -300ER's).Thanks.Cheers.Ian R>P.S. If that is the only difference, then I can say without a doubt that LDS1 has modelled a -300ER :-)

Dear all,To give some information about -300, -300ER, center tank capacity, etc..As beeing an B767 operator, I can say that there are as much -300 that they are operators.Every operator wants his aircraft customised to his operation type. Some want high capacity for short distance (low MTOM to pay less tax, which says also another lighter gear, no or small center tank, ...)Some other operators want a 3 class, another 2 class configuration, all this without talking about engine choice...Thats why it is important for an operator to choose sisterships to reduce the costs. But sistership are not always following serial number that why Boeing uses a VN number. So if you want to have "standardised" model names they could sound like this:B767-300: Low MTOM, Low fuel capacity, High pax capacity.B767-300ER:High MTOM, greater Center tank, 2 or 3 class configB767-300ER ETOPS: High MTOM, Center tank, 2 or 3 class config and eligible for ETOPS operations. (Mainely equipment redudency and Maintenance program for engine trend monitoring.)For info High MTOM: +/- 185 000 Kg low MTOM: +/- 156 000 Kg Hope this will clarify the subject of which type of -300 is modelled by LevelD.Very Best Regards,Amedee VermeireExelAviationGroup

Maximum Take Off Mass - or Maximum Take Off Weight. MTOM & MTOW are the same thing.

  • 2 weeks later...

yes they are BUTNEVER, EVER say Mass = Weight, that is the BIGGEST mistake you can make in this world ;)Cheers(in aviation they use it for 'easiness'

Hehehe - Lenny, I know mate - I deal with this stuff every day at work. Boeing use MTOW and Airbus use MTOM. Must be a cultural thing between Europe and the US.
