December 30, 200817 yr If I buy these and use this (or another) configuration, will they actually cast light on the runway that I can see from inside the cockpit? Or are they just for show for when you are looking from the outside the cockpit?Chris Catalano
July 3, 200916 yr They don't add much light; that is handled a different way by flight sim. What they mostly do is give you a diffused 3D cone of light that looks really cool, also various other lights you can stick on your airplane as replacements. They also illuminate clouds in front of you somewhat. There is a 767 config posted at A2A; personally I would want to tweak it a bit to suit my tastes. I like the looks on my 757, and there's no reason the 767 shouldn't look as good. This will give you an idea what they look like on li'l sis. They actually look a lot better in the sim. The one I found for the 767 isn't nearly as dramatic and has some banding on the fuselage from the wing landing lights. The "narrow" option might avoid that.I like 3D Lights, but there are tradeoffs. Your landing lights go off when the gear goes up, due to a line you add to your panel config. Otherwise you have phantom lights hanging in mid-air beneath your airplane without anything to support them!I'll post a 767 config if I get something that pleases me.

Be sure to put the panel line in that comes with the documentation. The right and left turnoff taxi lights appear to be at the wing root, but for some reason I could not get a 3D light effect to work from there, maybe because the wing landing lights are already there. Be aware that they will turn off automatically when the gear goes up, so if you need to keep your landing lights on until 10,000 feet you're going to have to come up with a different solution, e.g. making the wing landing lights "6" instead of "5" but I haven't tried those and don't know how it will work. I'll keep twiddling with it; if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate them.
July 15, 200916 yr I added some taxi lights. The problem is that when I turn on a wing taxi light the nose light comes on. The same goes for the landing lights.I tried the panel code and I it didn't work. Here is the code i used:gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave lightHere is the light code i used: [LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logolight.0 = 1, 51.43, 0.00, 9.89, fx_shockwave_beaconh // Rotating beacon above fuselagelight.1 = 1, 19.43, 0.00, -7.89, fx_shockwave_beaconb // Rotating beacon below fuselagelight.2 = 4, 81.00, -1.40, 5.10, LVLD_vclight2 // Cockpit light (original)light.3 = 4, 81.00, 1.40, 5.10, LVLD_vclight2 // Cockpit light (original)light.4 = 4, 81.00, -1.40, 5.10, fx_shockwave_vclight_l // Cockpit lightlight.5 = 4, 81.00, 1.40, 5.10, fx_shockwave_vclight_l // Cockpit light light.6 = 5, 28.00, -9.50, -2.60, fx_shockwave_landing_light // Left wing landing lightlight.7 = 5, 28.00, 9.50, -2.60, fx_shockwave_landing_light // Right wing landing lightlight.8 = 5, 77.00, 0.00, -7.50, fx_shockwave_landing_light_double // Nosewheel Landing Lightslight.9 = 6, 28.00, -9.50, -2.60, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Left wing landing lightlight.10 = 6, 28.00, 9.50, -2.60, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Right wing landing lightlight.11 = 6, 75.00, 0.00, -11.00, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Nosewheel taxi lightI tried to add lights to the wing tips, but with the wing flex this didn't work for me. July 16, 200916 yr Navigation lights and strobe lights, forget it.They dont look right because of the wing flex. As for the taxi lights i think they should be all under the number 6,i think NOT SURE.Nebojsa
July 16, 200916 yr You can call them taxi or landing depending on which number you assign. But the problem is, your nose landing lights are going to have to go off on gear raise because otherwise you get a hanging light. If you try to get around it by switching designations with the numbers, you mess up your switches.Strobes are a compromise; for me they are fuzzy enough that if you put them half-way between unflexed and flexed it all looks okay, but that is personal preference.
July 17, 200916 yr haha, I just realized that I do have the wing taxi lights commented wrong. ^^;; I do have them as #6 to assign to taxi. But the problem is, your nose landing lights are going to have to go off on gear raise because otherwise you get a hanging light.Do I turn off the nose gear light by using code added to the panel.cfg file? I'm not sure what code to use, because I used the code in the 3D light Redux manual and it doesn't work right. :( Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB
